Yep, my 2024 Cadillac XT4 (0-60 in 7 sec) is quicker than my 2014 Toyota Highlander (0-60 in 7.6 sec) that I traded in. XT4 also handles better too.
I upgraded from a 2014 Toyota Highlander to a 2024 Cadillac XT4 this past weekend (the 2024 highlander drove the same and is pretty much the same chasis and interior so it's boring).
The Cadillac XT4 has no turbo lag that I can feel. Every other car that I test drove had turbo lag, whether short or long...Mercedes GLC300 (least turbo lag), BMW X3 (a little more turbo lag), Porsche Macan S (even more turbo lag), Honda (way too much turbo lag).
The Cadillac has these features that RUclipsrs miss:
      - lighted logo behind the dashboard
      - pulsating safety seat (most cars only beep)
      - left behind child in the rear seat alert
      - capless fuel tank (like my 2017 Corvette C7 )
      - umbrella storage in the doors (like Rolls Royce)
      - active noise cancellation (like my 2017 Corvette C7 with Bose)
      - power passenger seat with lumbar
      - free 5G hotspot
      - stop/start feature is the smoothest I’ve ever experienced that I don't even notice it.
My other car is a 2017 Corvette Stingray in stickshift.

The regular HL is my winner. I don't use the 3rd row often and the cargo space is sufficient for me. Love the drive quality. Don't need to spend the extra dollar buying the GH , I have great value with the regular HL and present sufficient features. I don't see toyota scraping the regular HL because buyers have different needs and not everyone needs the size and extra space in the GH.

Get reasonably good gas mileage, quality fit and finish, durability over time and road handling?

I’ve watched several videos on many of the new mid size SUV’s and think the Grand Highlander Hybrid Max or the Lexus TX 500h is the replacement for my HL. Great video! I don’t think you can go wrong with either vehicle! Just depends on if you need the more space. Not only does the Grand Highlander have a lot more space, but IMO it has a FAR better exterior, interior, AND key fob. The idea of either having 36mpg or 362hp (depending on what the buyer chooses) in a vehicle of that size also impresses me. The Grand Highlander is 1000% worth EVERY penny over the regular Highlander and it's also the only one of the two that I PERSONALY like (however I still respect the opinion of people that like the regular Highlander and it's def NOT a BAD car, I just like the Grand Highlander A LOT more)

I have a 2022 Highlander and after several times in the shop with a warranty issue, I had the chance to drive the Grand Highlander for an extended time. I prefer the Highlander instead of the Grand highlander. The Grand Highlander did have better storage in the center console and I liked the bigger driver's area cup holders, but it is too big for my needs. Granted, I have no need to cart around a bunch of kids as my kids are young adults, so I don't need the extra room. But I liked having room to move around in my garage, which with the GH, it was BIG and took up too much room. I am curious about the acceleration of the newer 4cyl turbo engines vs. 6 cylinder in the older Highlanders. Does anyone know how they compare? I dislike the all digital screen for the speedometer and dash area, and like the tach and speedometer old school analog style. I have been in cars where I had issues with the screen blanking out, so it was nice to know I could have an analog version to depend on. Like the look better of the older style vs. new digital screen. Looking forward to driving a 2024 Highlander..Grand Highlander reminds me of my previous Honda Pilot...which was too big and ugly on the trunk area. I'll stick with the Regular Highlander.

The comparison should have been with the GH Ltd. standard Hybrid vs the Highlander Hybrid. The GH will still win but it would be a closer race. Trading in my 2018 Highlander for the GH Ltd. Hybrid with delivery in a few weeks. The obsession with the GH Hybrid Max is really not the real buying segment. The Max trim a ritually impossible to get as Toyota is not making many of the higher trims. Probably will lose a bit of torque acceleration from the Highlander 6 cylinder but looking forward to the $1,000 + annual gas savings with the hybrid. Cheers

I know that I would have been disappointed with the regular Highlander.

The good thing about the Grand Highlander introduction is that it seems it has taken pressure off regular-Highlander demand. If your 2017 Highlander meets your needs already, it may be worth to get a good deal on a new Highlander versus getting the new Grand Highlander. Great comparisons as always guys! I noticed the same thing as you guys did on the visual quality/feel of the GHL vs the HL when I saw one in person. It just looked cheap to me compared to the HL. And I had my concerns on how far up in hierarchy Toyota would position it vs the HL since we're already talking 50K plus. So it appears it's the Hybrid Max drivetrain and the additional space that you're paying for but not much else as 'Grand' here does not mean the same as what is does in the Wagoneer. That being said, the Telluride/Palisade still offer the best perceived quality and features at the same HL price point, and I would pick the loaded CX-90 Turbo S easily over the GHL.
