Agreed. Walking and moving around helped my recovery. On week 5 post op. I had 46 fibroids removed 👀 Got my period this week and this was the first time in my life that I did not have a painful period. This surgery is so worth it improves quality of life.

I just had an abdominal myomectomy on 5/17/22, I’m 5 days post op today and feel so much stronger and better. I get winded from minor things like taking a shower or walking up and down the stairs in my house but I feel like I’m recovering quickly! I’m 24 y/o and have been physically active basically my entire life lol from cheer, to track/field, and now weight lifting at the gym which I’ve been doing for 5 years . I have known about my fibroids since 2020 but didn’t want any intervention unless it was absolutely necessary. My incision still has steri-strips on them but I was told to let them fall off naturally or my doctor will remove them herself when I go for my post op on 5/31/22. The first few days were hell but i forced myself to walk even when I didn’t feel like it. I feel like I’m recovering really well but of course still have some concerns as anyone else would but I’m taking it day by day! Thank you so much for sharing your experience 💖

Thanks for sharing and being positive ❤ !! If you guys need a myomectomy, do your research and find a good doctor that you trust. I had doctors say my case was difficult, and that didn’t help me make a decision, until I found an experienced doctor with many years doing this type of surgery. He said “now a days people DONT LOSE THEIR UTERUS”. So I went with him !!! He made me feel safe with his positivity, and I prayed that God helped him do his best❤ !! So find an experienced doc, and pray a lot. Do everything to be HEALTHY! Buy books on fibroids, do exercise and eat right (diet high in fruit & veggies). Best of luck ladies😘💖God bless you all💒

I just had this surgery! I’m almost 3 weeks post op. Recovery has been so insightful. Im up and moving though. My stomach is a bit swollen still and the incision site is also very tender. You’re doing so good with drinking a ton of water. That’s been my struggle. But I gotta do it by force!

What is the recovery time for open surgery? How many days you took off? Or how many days needed?

Hello Oforiwaa, please I have just had my myomectomy surgery about 19 day today but my stomach below from my bellybutton is still norm and that particular part of my stomach is either still big or swelling. Please 🥺🥺 do you have anything similar ? It is just scarry cos I never have a big stomach but now I feel like my stomach hasn't really changed even though fibroids are out

Gas it will gradually go down but eat healthy, note that some vegetables can still make you look bloated
