I can understand why he still does photography without - he knows that pallet and how it photographs. Besides, there is an austere beauty in the way he sees without them. I'm glad he's doing well and still enjoying them. Thanks for sharing this moment with so many of us.
wow that lady walks by with a perfect purple sari. that was so magical it almost seemed staged! such a wonderful moment. how his artistry will be forever changed.
I've often thought it a great pity in UK (and no doubt many Western countries) people don't wear more colourful clothes, as in India and various other countries.
Yeah I can see how it would seem staged lol but if you knew Tyrone you'd understand why God would bless him with 'the fate of the purple dress'. He's a big hearted guy.
You know you've made something special when you basically don't need to have an advertising budget for it. They've passively created a sub-genre of uplifting youtube videos where every single clip is just an amazed person talking about how incredible and effective their product is.
+MrRevertis Yep. Great products deserve free advertising imo. Given the technology, Enchroma could have easily set the price for these glasses in a much higher price bracket but made them affordable. They're champions in my books.
If you read the story behind these glasses they were literally created by accident. I think it started with a few men who were experimenting with lens coatings for, I think, golf. One of their friends, who happened to be red-green colorblind, put a test pair on and were stunned to see colors they had never seen before.
Of of all the videos I have seen of people seeing colour for the first time this one is the most moving. Wonderful reactions from a really lovely guy. Pure joy.
I have been completely color blind my whole life and have been watching these videos lately and they all make me cry. I am a 57 year old man and don't cry easily. I think the reason I cry is because of all the friends and caring that people have for one another. Unfortunately I have no family or friends left. I am going to buy myself these glasses so that I can see what everyone else sees.
That's very sad to hear you have no family or friends to share this with. You will love these glasses. When you first use them, just ask a stranger to help you identify the colours you're looking at. I'm sure someone will help you, and share the moment.
I am an artist, photographer second generation and my eyes make this world livable for me. I have been through a lot, pain and suffering so when I saw these videos I have bawled through them with joy for those who are given the gift of color. I hope their lives are endless rainbows. Daughter of a 1950's naval photographer and a mother who retouched her way to the top of her field. I teethed on film they say.
I'm sorry to hear of the pain and suffering you have been through and I hope this video brought you even a little healing in some way. Fun fact; Tyrone was in our Australian Navy. He'd love to see your father's work. I'd love to see your work and pass on to Tyrone as well. God bless.
@@givenlive3658 THank you...how sweet. Those kind words will turn into a similar kindness given by me to a stranger today. Dad was on the USS Forstall in 1955 to 1962 when he died suddenly. I was 13 months old and my brother was just past 2 1/2 when he died. We were gifted with photos he made from all over the world. They are stamped "Released by U.S. Navy and the date." He caught a really special moment when Grace Kelly and her husband Prince Rainier of Monaco did a ships inspection. I love his shots of the Rock of Gibraltar, burlesque fan dancers in France, and Rome's ruins. One day I might scan them in and post them to a video. Actually, thank you for sparking that idea. It would be amazing to hear from any of the men who were on that ship. It caught fire twice and they used the films to train later crews.
Whenever I feel depressed I watch another Enchroma video. This is one of my favorites. How truly life changing for a creative man.I loved all the comments he made about how his photography would be impacted
So many great comments. Thank you everyone. Just an update 7 odd years later. Tyrone still has the glasses and is still the same awesome guy. He doesn't use the glasses for photography, which may sound strange to some. And he doesn't wear the glasses every day. When he wears them, they give him such a sense of awe. He doesn't want to lose that great feeling and the experience of gratitude they give when he wears them. Too much of a good thing will often cause us to not appreciate it. He takes them out when he believes the colours are rich or on special occasions. Champion of a guy. Deserves every great comment in here. Thanks again. Cheers :)
That's wonderful! Some people may be aware of a condition called Anosmia. Its like colorblind but in the sense of smell. There are no different smells. But many with that condition are great cooks and chefs. So glad these folks can see the world better with one simple action.
This makes me so happy - I'm binge watching Enchroma videos just for the endorphins! LOL! Tyrone is reacting to color and then this beautiful woman in a very purple sari walks by, I was sure he was going to fall back on his heels! Congratulations, Tyrone and blessings on all those who gave him this wonderful gift.
This makes me feel like we should buy everyone around the world these glasses. Everyone deserves to see color. How much more healthy food, clean water, dry shelter, love, respect, and peace. It feels like this should be our life's purpose!!
So sweet! I really appreciate people finding new joy in the beauty around us. To have a photographer, who is already apt to appreciate beauty, get to experience this is even better.
I binged on these too, which gave me the idea to give Tyrone the glasses. Amazing seeing the gratitude shown by people who suddenly get the gifts we take for granted.
Agree 100%. More companies should be like this. Just wish they would bring their prices down so more ppl could experience this. I haven't checked lately, hopefully they have.
This man is in absolute shock and it's like coming out of a deep sleep from another world. Hope everyone is having a good time laughing . It is like seeing for the first time.
According to the Enchroma website even the top-of-the-line glasses cost less than $500. I think that's a pretty low price for being able to see colors.
+Benjamin Brown Well prescription glasses cost almost as much as that so yes it is normal. Also you have to pay for all the R&D it took to get that product to the market. But it will definitely go down in price

Something as incredible the fact that we have something called RUclips, which lets us share these moments, on the other side of earth… Mind double blown..
+Guilherme Eddino I watched several of these. To me, the reactions don't seem at all sincere. I believe they're just actors doing a regular old infomercial. The glasses make things appear differently when worn, but the colors are still not correct. Just different. Color-blind persons who take a color-blind test while wearing these still fail the test.
+jhanthony2 Enchroma claims to improve colour vision, not correct it. They openly state on their site it will most likely not improve the results of a colour blind test. The goal is to see more colour, not perfect colour. Tyrone was able to identify purple flowers in amongst green scrub. Something he wasn't able to do prior. Their glasses boost vibrancy, which is why they work best in full sunlight. If a colour blind person can see 200,000 colours instead of 50,000 colours thanks to the glasses then great. Unless the colour blind person wanted to be a pilot, I'm sure passing a test would be the last thing on their mind. Like Tyrone, they are just happy to see colour closer to the way we see it. I've known Tyrone for 20 years. If he could act that well he would not be doing commercials for Enchroma. He'd be in Hollywood.
And I'll just add again, that you're all being sold a bridge by a Nigerian prince. The things don't work. They are NOT adding "vibrancy." Whatever that means. This is absolutely nothing more than a modern version of rose colored glasses.
If anyone is wondering what it's like to be colour blind, my son showed me this little trick. 1. close both eyes. 2. As a photographer and videography, and an overall fan of Romanticism, I can't wait until my glasses come in next week. Weird do think this is my last week without normal color vision.
+TBFilms I had a good conversation with Tyrone the other day and he is still blown away by how many colours he can see now. He is still learning new colours! I also showed him some images on the computer (he thought the glasses would be too dark for inside so he hadn't tried it yet) and he was amazed. Brought to tears yet again lol So now he's thinking of buying the pair that are made for computer use. It will blow your socks off mate. Feel free to link us to your video if you make one :)
I'd love to see some of his photography before these glasses and then what he has started to photograph afterwards. I'm curious if he starts being drawn to different subjects.
I'm Mild deutan, which is red/green colorblind. I have most trouble with greens and browns. Some blues and purples and a little reds and oranges depending on the shades. I understand everything he said he see's. Nothing pops out and everything is saturated. I just ordered a pair and I hope they work as good for me. I really cannot believe that a green traffic light is green. To me it's white or the same color as a street lamp.
Me too. Did you know there are no two colours or set of colours in nature that clash? All colour sets on animals and plants etc are complimentary. It's wild. God bless.
This is awesome! I'd love to have seen what changes happened with his photography, how he edits and creates them now. That had to be an experience for him!
Thank you. Sometimes it just takes one person to show some thoughtfulness and some others to help out to really show someone what they are worth. People can be kind, but there's always more we can do. Often, we don't truly know what the people around us are going through. God bless.
100% Imagine going your whole life not being able to see a deep, rich purple, then suddenly seeing it? It'd be like someone saying to you 'hey, here's this colour you've never seen'. You'd spin out.
I'd have to think that first night it'd be hard to get to sleep as your mind replays the things you've seen that day [PURPLE!!!]. It seems like it'd almost be what it's like for a newborn, as far as the "newness" of everything. Like dropping acid the first time (which I haven't done, but the after-effect seems like it might be similar). I can't really empathize because I'm extremely "color sensitive" so I can see tiny shade differences between colors. I work at Lowe's in the Paint Department and I'm trying to get EnChroma glasses in our department. SO MANY men come in, who can't see color. They'll ask me to "pick out a gray for me". They can't do it because half the colors look like versions of gray. They can't see the subtlety of taupe compared to gray or yellow, red, green or orange. It seriously pains me that some people can't see how amazing the world looks! When the colorblind ask, "Is it like this for you all the time?" I'd want to say something like, "No. Only on weekends." :-)
@@davidbuschhorn6539 Well these glasses need to be merged with the eagle eye lenses of Europe. They have them there. Far as I know America doesn't have them. Yea. They have eagle eye cornea lenses. As in perminate eye vision replacement. As yeah they are made to see farther than a normal human can. To of the bird. Take that with the right color adjustment. Make many happy and fix 2 or more things at once. No contacts for people. As no need these glasses. 🙄😎
Hi!!! This is so wonderful! I want to get them for my dad, I just need to check if there would be any problems in customs (Argentina) Are those large or medium? I want the same ones!!
These ones are medium size. Email the guys at Enchroma through their site to check about customs. I've emailed them before and they are a great help. Your Dad will love them!
Love this vid! I had never even heard of EnChroma glasses before. Where was the fundraiser for this? If there are more people who need funding for things like this I'd like to contribute.
+PG GBtwo Hey, thanks for your comments. We basically just got friends and family to contribute. We are hoping to raise some money to get another pair for another, arguably even more exciting, project than this one. I was thinking of crowd funding for it. What do you think?
Give 'N' Live It's a great idea - I think people would back it, especially if they can watch vids like this and see what a huge difference the glasses make.
This is one of the very small everyday things we all take for granted. We live our lives not even thinking of the idea of not seeing color and it means so much for the colorblind people.
I never get tired of these videos. Seeing colour is emotional for everyone, but it must be an even richer experience for a photographer.
so true!
Yeah i agree

I also showed him some images on the computer (he thought the glasses would be too dark for inside so he hadn't tried it yet) and he was amazed. Brought to tears yet again lol So now he's thinking of buying the pair that are made for computer use. It will blow your socks off mate. Feel free to link us to your video if you make one :)
+Give 'N' Live On that note, has it helped him with color-correction - less reliance on RGB values and scopes, at least initially?
I wanna see the photography he makes with these!
I'd love to see some of his photography before these glasses and then what he has started to photograph afterwards. I'm curious if he starts being drawn to different subjects.
+gpigula he is a great mate of mine and his Photography before is incredible and beautiful, now to share this journey with him will be truly amazing.
+Callan O'leary does he have a website?
+Callan O'leary does he have a website?
Only his facebook.. Tyrone Oliver.
+mpl305 Tyrone is pretty severely colour blind as you are and they worked for him. I'm sure they will work for you. Enjoy seeing colour!!!
Please Update
I love videos like this. Even makes me feel like the colors around me are becoming more vibrant.
Thanks for your encouragement. I'm glad, like me, you are seeing the true beauty in the world. God bless you.
Iam not color blind but I trip out on the beautiful colors of flowers too.
Me too. Did you know there are no two colours or set of colours in nature that clash? All colour sets on animals and plants etc are complimentary. It's wild. God bless.
Thanks for sharing
So happy for him :)
You're welcome. God bless.
This is awesome! I'd love to have seen what changes happened with his photography, how he edits and creates them now. That had to be an experience for him!
Makes you wonder what it would be like if we could see more in the infrared and ultraviolet.
+Patrick Bateman I've always wondered that.
Birds can see ultraviolet
+Patrick Bateman Some people can
some people even believe that blind people can develop a way of seeing like echolocation in bats or porpoises/dolphins.
He's going to be walking around going "WHAT ARE THOSEEEEEE?!"
"far out." whoever chipped in for these glasses....you done good.
Thank you. Sometimes it just takes one person to show some thoughtfulness and some others to help out to really show someone what they are worth. People can be kind, but there's always more we can do. Often, we don't truly know what the people around us are going through. God bless.
Nothing goes together quite like these glasses and purple.
100% Imagine going your whole life not being able to see a deep, rich purple, then suddenly seeing it? It'd be like someone saying to you 'hey, here's this colour you've never seen'. You'd spin out.
I wonder if he'll start dreaming in the colors he's never seen :-)
Good point. Lots more colours for the memory banks!
An *American* invention for you all to enjoy the beautiful world 💚
What a time to be alive.
Hi!!! This is so wonderful! I want to get them for my dad, I just need to check if there would be any problems in customs (Argentina) Are those large or medium? I want the same ones!!
These ones are medium size. Email the guys at Enchroma through their site to check about customs. I've emailed them before and they are a great help. Your Dad will love them!
so very happy for him 😍
Love this vid!
Give 'N' Live
It's a great idea - I think people would back it, especially if they can watch vids like this and see what a huge difference the glasses make.
This is the coolest thing ever
What a great guy!
well this is the first time ive seen a white guy named tyrone
This makes me so happy ❤
this guy is so great....
The things we take for granted.
He loves orange!
This is one of the very small everyday things we all take for granted. We live our lives not even thinking of the idea of not seeing color and it means so much for the colorblind people.
Yes, we can learn from this
8:06 These glasses are so amazing they made M. Night Shayamalan disappear.
Haha gold!
You are very funny!
Ty is a lovely and very handsome guy. He’s just fab!
And single by the way.......
Happy as a little kid exploring a new world! :)
Wholesome
I cut down a few trees with this bloke! Never knew he couldn't see the green in the leaves properly.
He can't see a red color before - one of the brightest colors... I can (or I can't =)) imagine what he feels now.
Emocionante
Is that the Arcadia Arboretum?
Wow...what a sweet guy. :)
