- My first experience with my new Enchroma glasses. My wife records me as I see purples, oranges, and greens for the first time. Watch as my mind is blown by the color of flowers, traffic lights, and our sons eyes. More info below...
Thanks to Top Trends for featuring my video! • Video
My Enchroma test results show that I am a strong deutan (red/green colorblind).

Update: after wearing my glasses for at least 30 minutes a day for 4 months I can score as a mild deutan on the Enchroma test WITHOUT the glasses. I don't know if it is because my brain is learning how to see colors I couldn't before or if I am learning where to look for color variations that I normally would have ignored.
Also, sunsets are so much more glorious than I ever knew.
Update #2: I've had the glasses for over a year now. I went to a baseball game a few months ago. The field was so green it made me cry. I couldn't even fathom that color before. Green lights still make me smile. Orange juice looks almost neon to me - like a magic potion or something. Going to an outdoor farmers market is a new experience, too. Red peppers are RED!
I've watched just about every Enchroma glasses video available, and your reaction is the best I've ever seen....I kept getting teary-eyed watching your reactions, Bobby! Purple is my favorite color, and watching the absolute awe on your face each time you saw purple was wondrous...and your shock when you saw the green traffic light made me laugh out loud. SO happy for you!
Those were great locations to go, first time I've seen someone go see some stained glass. An Aquarium or even fish store would be good too all the saltwater fish are so colorful. I am wondering if it would be a little more gentle to start off in a drab place and work up to more vivid colors, because so many people just get totally overwhelmed. Like a sensory overload
Is the son colorblind too?
"I get why this is the colour of royalty." That is a perfect line!
+Samantha P Thanks!
Purple was royalty color because high price of the pigment that time and the others pigment colors were difficult to get. The people dont use color dresses until near 1850.
@@afs3632 And it *is* a beautiful color.
@@afs3632 Yes a very difficult and expensive color to get
"I don't even believe this color." "My brain doesn't know what to do with this color." Aha, I'm so glad these glasses were invented for colorblind people. =D
amouramarie 💗👏
I agree. The inventor deserves a Nobel Prize in medicine for these.
"i can't even believe that color, what is that color!?"
"thats orange"
that is such a crazy thing. its so beautiful to see grown people asking what colors are. because they're never seen them. i love it.
+relientkrox1234 Thank you for watching! Drinking orange juice is a totally different experience for me now. :)
She let him go at his own pace. No peppering him with questions and ongoing banter.
letting him adjust at his own pace.
This is the best one so far.
I got my pair of glasses last week and was amazed by the amount of different colours there is on this planet. I am transfixed on nature programs now and cannot believe how many different colours and shades there are..
+TheKhajiiit Glad you are getting to experience the joy, too! I'm looking forward to spring when the colors will be super vibrant.
+Bobby JK where I live we have fields going on for miles full of poppies, daffodils etc so really excited to see what the view is really like..
This is why purple is my absolute favourite colour ^_^. I love the fact that they put purple paper around the flower.
You picked perfect places to go.
It's a gorgeous color!
It's my favorite color as well when he said he understood why purple was for royalty my heart swelled a bit. Purple also represents spirituality and the color of the crown chakra. It's a powerful color.
You chose a fantastic spot to try it on for the first time. That's like an explosion of colours in that shop!
Makes me appreciate what I have taken for granted.
Carolyn Greenburg absolutely! 😄
his face when he saw the green light.
He needs to see his shirt. Lol
That's why I keep coming back to this video 💚💚💚💚💚💚, I love his ❤️ reaction to green and purple.
My favorite moment.
"This is going to sound corny but I get why this [purple] is the color of royalty..."
Happy for you. It looks like Purple gets them all... Enjoy!
Very happy for you. Got my husband a pair as well. He LOVED the traffic light and of course, purple is his new favorite Color as well.
+dottty1 You gave him a pricey but truly priceless gift. Thanks for watching!
Choosing a florist shop and the stained glass was BRILLIANT, been watching colorblind videos for a couple years, and this is the best. Awesome job, kudos
I want to get rich and then just buy tonnes of these for people.
Depresstival i want them so bad, i want to understand why people like being in nature so much. . .
Josue: Start a Gofundme :) Lots of people have done it!
Me too....
I love his reaction to the color purple. It's my favorite color. It's so nice to hear him say how beautiful it is.
Nobody has been this excited over a traffic light! Hahaha, congratulations :)
I NEVER get misty eyed, but his reaction to the green light almost made me cry!!
Me too ♥️.... Green is my favourite colour and it makes me sad that a lot of people don't like it.
Purple is a beautiful colour too.
Inspired choice of locations. The flower shop was a feast for the eyes, even for someone who's not colour blind, and the stained glass windows are just beautiful.
I think flowers are the best for showing the differences in colors and shades. I wonder why so many have the strongest reactions to purple? Well done!
Virginia Taylor because a lot of people that are colorblind can't see the colour red, and purple is a mixture of red and blue, so since they can't see red, they're unable to see the color purple.
same with orange, since orange is red and yellow, purple and orange aren't colors they normally see.
Because it is the best color
The funky green is chartreuse. I think you should always get these wonderful people their very own color wheel!
This is by far the best of these videos - I think it’s hard to get a decent explanation most of the time because more men are colorblind than women and men tend to be pretty close-lipped about things. His reactions are MAGNIFICENT - it’s what i imagine most people are thinking when they encounter colors as babies but they just don’t have the words for it yet - this is fascinating and beautiful and, especially as an artist, so exciting to watch unfold in someone. I’d love to know if people have watched movies like “pleasantville” and “the wizard of Oz” with these glasses on and have found the color changes to be at all similar to their experiences.
Thank you for the kind words! :)
I agree, gillianrose72608. Watching him study the colors and being able to distinguish the varied amounts of color in a single flower was beautiful. My favorite part was him looking at his children's eyes. I'm so happy for your, Bobby.
As kids we are taught colors belong to someone pink for girls blue for boys everyone misses out on purple because it's connected to "girls". This man and wife were awesome.
Pleasantville was an awesome movie.I need to watch that again.
Such an inspiring show of unashamedly child-like joy side-by-side with awed mature appreciation upon encountering the ineffably-beautiful *gloriousness* of certain light-frequencies in this world. The psychological set (confidently trusting a laid-back, positive-vibed companion-guide) and physical setting (no-pressure privacy in a fragrant flower-shop) were optimum for a good trip.
I had to take acid to achieve anything like this state -- to appreciate for the first time the enormity of what my senses had always been showing me, but which I was stupidly blind to!
Many cheers!
"I like the fact that Nirvana is with us now" :D
Can you imagine getting that excited when the light changes to green. How wonderful.
It's so sweet when he just stares at the purple flower he bought
This has been my favourite enchroma video I've watched and believe me I've seen a lot, I've been binge watching them for like 2 days! You chose the perfect places to go and had an absolutely gorgeous reaction, really makes you appreciate what beauty there is in the world, even when you might not realise it!
Thanks, Becky! I've had them a year, now, and I am still discovering new colors. I still can't get over traffic lights!
Well said
his reactions are good. the girl recording it seems kind of robot-ish. she seems to have little enthusiasm. she's happy, i'm sure. i just can't tell. it doesn't matter, i guess.
good for you bobby!
i agree with you. i have started my marathon viewing of these posts. This one is the best.
I further agree, love seeing the responses (Go Purple!) but the most useful and one you feel what he feel is this... you brought it home for many.
Now to surprise you a bit, my vision is just fine, but I suffer from severe depression caused by a bad stroke 10 years ago and I watch these for the joy and wonder factor that gives me a stimulant and a weapon against the depression.
Your video made a whole week better just on it's own, impressive indeed!!!
This....is....hands down, the best Enchroma reaction vid I've seen. So happy for you!!!
This is the absolute sweetest "sees colour for the first time" videos ever made.
That flower shop plays hard rock/ grunge music
... badass
Fantastic job by the person behind the camera!!! This is the first video I've seen where the color blind person is actually allowed to discover all the colors around them on their own. So wonderful to watch a grown man's childlike joy of discovery.
This was so great to watch...I can only compare it to a blind person seeing for the 1st time.... I smiled the whole time! Congrats Bobby on the beautiful world of color!!!!!
+Selma J Thank you!
OMG made me cry!! I'm so happy for you! made me think twice about things I've taken for granted.
+Alissa Odedra Thank you for watching! I was trying hard not to cry at the beginning but it was all so overwhelming. I am still finding new colors each day even though my brain isn't sure what to make of them. Good thing my wife and kids have normal color vision so they can teach me the right words!
This is my favorite reveal of color using the glasses. The flower shop and church, his kids faces...those glasses should be made available by all insurance companies ...
Thank you for watching! :)
How are you supposed to watch this without crying? :)
I bought my boyfriend these glasses for Christmas and I get so emotional just from the idea that he will experience colours in a fresh way. And purple!!!
+Themarcumo Thank you for watching it! It was definitely an emotional experience. I hope your boyfriend enjoys them as much as I have. :)
+Themarcumo How did he like the glasses?
The birthday is in early January. Can't wait!
+Themarcumo Any news ? How did it worked ? :D
It worked perfectly!!!! Overwhelming, emotional and eye-opening. he was shocked that it actually worked, because he thought that he wasn't totally colour-bling.
We were both mega-happy!
I've been watching a lot of these and it's interesting to see that it's pretty consistently orange that induces the most double-takes
So beautiful, one of my favorite 'Sees color for the first time' videos. really really well done.
Thank you!
I just love it how in all these videos everbody goes bonkers over purple
+zarko pejic Purple is still a confusing color to me. My eyes see this (new to me) color but my brain thinks "that's a color you aren't familiar with, but are you sure it is purple?"
I still think about this video a lot and your pure joy over the color purple. It makes me smile every time I see purple now because someone shares my understanding of the beauty of purple! So glad they work so well for you!
Thanks for watching! I am glad I got to share this special moment with so many people.
This was the best setting I've seen yet for a person to try out the glasses for the first time; it's a riot of bright colors of all kinds. I've been disappointed with a few other videos where the person was in a drab location with few colors to experience.
Thanks for watching! I watched several reaction videos before I got my glasses and I wanted to make sure I had plenty of things to look at when I first put them on. The flower shop was very nice to let me have my first experience with purples and oranges at their place.
His reaction to purple orange and the green light was awesome
I love watching Enchroma videos. Seeing the reactions - the wonder and joy on people's faces - it always makes me cry. What an incredible invention. Your reaction to purple, when you said you understand why it's the color of royalty, was just magical. So happy for you! :)
+violetxoxox Awww! Thanks for watching. :)
"Purple's a pretty color..."
My heart...
just saw this "hey my jeans are really blue" lol I laughed out loud when he said that ! I hope you are enjoying the world of color
WOW! This made me teared up a bit. Great reaction, man
Thank you for watching! Glad this video has made people happy.
This was the perfect way to do a color reveal! The places you brought him were beautiful and they had so many colors. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Thanks for watching, Jeannette. My wife is pretty awesome, isn't she?! I've had the glasses for almost a year now and am still finding "new" colors. Football turf is REALLY green!
I've got chills for a second. I'm so happy for you man.
"This is your favourite colour?" I DIED
Now you see what we see Bobby :)
Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red, no wonder it's so attractive.
Seeing all that color for the 1st time must have been surreal. I loved your reaction when you saw your 1st "green" light. Also when you said it was like you were seeing an alien planet when you were looking at the purple flower.
Thanks, Michael! It certainly was surreal. I've had them for over a year now and green lights still surprise me and make me smile.
My heart is so filled with joy watching this. Thank you for sharing this with us.
"Look how pretty that green is!" -Bob (Ross and JK)
Your reaction when you saw the green traffic light was priceless. 💖
Then you see the colour of your children's eyes, how loving is that ❤️
sweet boy coming at 10:33
"Dad, this is Lewis."
"Come Lewis, this is my dad."
"Dad, can you tell him your name?"
It's so touching how he points out with his fingers, completely amazed!
Me too. I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be for these people. Soooo happy for them.
Purple is indeed a special colour! No wonder the late Prince had a special thing for it. I personally love colours and it sad to know so many people miss out on them. Great that technology now can at least help some of them!
If you're showing someone colors for the very first time take him, or her, to the most colorful place you know and make the person cry tears of joy.
Great job wifey.
I'm a moderate Protan.... and a professional video producer and motion graphic designer, if you can believe that. LOL. I spent my entire career finding ways to overcome my handicap as well as struggling with bosses who didn't understand what colorblindness is. One even tried to have me fired for being, as she put it, "so unintelligent he can't even see the color red."
I can't freaking wait to get my own pair of enchroma. Thank you for sharing this and convincing me that the price of the glasses will be worth it. Time to start saving my cash now! haha.
Thanks again for sharing.
One colorblind guy named Ethan (his channel name is called EZWITHETHAN) his video went viral and he has teamed up with Enchroma and has even given a pair away for free! I would stay tuned to his channel 😀😀
"One even tried to have me fired for being, as she put it, "so unintelligent he can't even see the color red." "
Makes one ask the counterquestion how she managed to become a boss if she is lacking basic knowlegde like this. How colourblindness works is primary school knowledge for petes sake!
Now that is the way to give a man the shock of his life with dignity.
Beautiful video and what a lovely guy
Awww. Thanks! :)
I love your reaction. I love the spots you two picked.
These glasses are evil and wicked Witchcraft and sorcery !
@@kennyholeater2494 why do you try too ruin a persons first time seeing of colors.?. and they are not evil don't you think GOD gave us science too invent these.?. i do.
Welcome to the world of color.
Oh my God
He's like a kid in a candy factory.
He is a treat to see. Loved every second of this video. Thankyou for filming.
BLUuuuuuuuuuu
Perfect place to be.
Very intelligent choice of place. Flower shop!
Eyes color....
A very sensitive sensible guy.
Lucky girl.
Flower shop and church, two FANTASTIC ideas for color exposure! :D It's always magical to see these kinds of videos, the awe and wonder of things most of us take for granted. Helps me better appreciate having a full color experience. Purple is my favorite color too, actually. :) (though I tend to wear black and red the most)
damn , imagine seeing a new color for the first time, that would be like mind boggling.
the reaction to the traffic light was awesome !
Perfect place for the reveal!!
All you colour blind people make the rest of us appreciate even more what we've had all along - thank you! And thank you, Bobby, for sharing your experience with us, watching you see colours in the full spectrum for the first time was such a joy :)
Thank you for watching!
I've got a thrill just watching see color for the first time. Second time through, All you guys with these glasses have ruined my plans for the day but it's been really great. I'm happy for you, "I't like being on an alien planet!"
Thanks for watching! I've had the glasses now for almost a year, so the alien planet effect has dissipated. I am still finding new colors, though. I recently visited my old neighborhood for the first time in years. Seeing the colors on the signs and the colors of people's houses that I was so used to seeing when I lived there look so different to me now. It's like discovering a whole new place.
This is the best reaction video for colour I've seen :) Thanks for posting!
Thank you for watching! :)
this beautiful and I get very emotional. People who see take eyes for granted. I always did until I got cataracts and they progressed and I was completely blind. I understand how awesome this is for you......ENJOY COLOR
These videos remind me to appreciate green more
"A green light." Love these videos. All the.. Small things..
I have R-G color deficiency, the kind these glasses are designed for.
Gotta say, even without the EnChroma glasses, that's a very colorful scene you've chosen for this video! It might blow my mind if I could see all the variations that are really there to see. Maybe one day I'll be able to get mine. People would have to just get used to me wearing sunglasses ALL the time, lol
Congratulations! :-)
+smart451cab Thanks! They are certainly amazing glasses. To be fair, though, these glasses do not allow me to see all colors - just more than I saw before. I still test as having a slight R-G deficiency - but before the glasses I tested as having a severe R-D deficiency. Also, they work better outdoors than indoors. The effect is much greater with full spectrum light. After having them for 10 days I am still seeing new colors in nature. And green traffic lights still amaze me every time. :)
I love how he looks like a young child exploring the world.
Or on mad LSD.
Thanks for watching! I definitely felt a sense of childlike wonder walking around.
I love his reaction. Its amazing how people(myself included) can take for granted something so normal as seeing color. You guys picked amazing places to go. That purple was absolutely beautiful.
I've been watching these for days. The new glasses wearers are always amazed by purple and orange. Many of them don't even know what to call orange: they've never seen that color before.
you are a good father
+Daniel laker Wow, Daniel. That is a super nice compliment. Thank you!
Nothing like these colorblind people seeing purple! It just makes you smile.
Every time I watch these videos it seems that it is the same lovely woman introducing the guy to the world!
I've got a pretty awesome wife. She has introduced me to the world of colors as well as to the world of true love.
Coolio!!
Annabelle Rankin bobby jk I am so happy when I see this my sister did the same she is colour blind.
LOL! This. Is. My. Favorite! This young husband and wife are aDORable! Such a sweet video - thank you for allowing us to experience your first sight of colors with you. Your family is adorable, too! Congratulations!
Thank you for watching! Wow, thanks for the compliment on our family and for calling us young! We are in our 40s, so that's something we don't hear very often. :)
@@BobbyKeane NO way! Nope. Not believing it. You are all tots; TOTS, I tell you!
7:24 best moment xD
I've seen a lot of these videos and their reactions to purple always gets me...
I've been watching so many of these Enchroma videos over the past few weeks, and I have to say that this one stands so far above the rest. I love the fact that your wife just lets you experience it rather than peppering you with questions. She is the first person in all of the ones I've seen that seems to realize that this experience is about you and not how fun it is for her to see your reactions. I'm not sure who chose the locations, but going to a church to see the stained glass was an act of brilliance. I'm also deeply impressed with how thoughtful you are during your exploration of these colors. You go way beyond how different they are with the glasses compared to without them. In addition to considering the way they look, you think about how the colors make you feel and how they are represented in history and society. Thank you so much.
Thank you! I am so glad that, even almost 5 years later, that this video is being enjoyed. I will tell you that I *still* am amazed at green lights.
Every blind color people's video will always like purple and stare on it
After seeing some 50 videos, I have to say: they do love their purple! ^^
I could look at these reactions all day (probably have).
+Daniel Münnig Thank you for watching!
💜💜im so happy for him 💜💜
That's such a perfect place to put on the glasses!
I've been watching a lot of these in recent weeks. Bobby's reactions are about the best yet! Does my heart a lot of good.
Awesome! Getting these for my Dad for Christmas. I'm glad you got to enjoy purple. :)
+ally29ally I hope your dad enjoys them as much as I have. Are you getting the indoor or outdoor kind?
Awwww, this guy is so sweet. His reactions are so beautiful and full of wonder and gratitude. 🥰🥰
You have taken him to the ideal places to see life in the magical world of colors.
OMG this is so beautiful, and you are the sweetest thing. I just want to hug the crap out of you, and all the other people in these videos. You are like a child, ecstatic because they are actually SEEING things. This is a great reminder to everyone to no take anything for granted! Life is full of miracles if we just look for them! It's such a gift to simply be alive and sentient. These glasses are perhaps as much a blessing to the color-seeing as they are to the colorblind. Thank you for sharing this with the public. I am addicted to these videos!
5:40 That's called Lavender, the colour as well as the plant and now you know why. :)
my favorite reaction of all the ones i've watched!! You took him to the most perfect places... great video
By far the best reaction. Your Wife is awesome for this setup! So glad you got such a great improvement, so happy for you. Enjoy your new world, its beautiful!!
I love the reaction to the traffic lights!
great way to introduce colours by taking him to a beautiful florist shop & stained glass windows - he repaid you like a kid in a candy shop !
8:01. . . . THIS gesture sums up his reaction to seeing color for the first time!!!!
