I drove past a local Tesla dealer the other day. And I was amazed at the pile of worn out tires in the back of the dealer service area. They eat through tires big time.

I drove past a Firestone service center and was shocked at the amount of used up tires they had scattered all over. You wouldn’t believe the amount of tires cars go through.

This is still my dream car. After 200k miles and 8 years of EV ownership I am still waiting to get a Tesla and am aiming for a 2016 Model S 90D. Should be able to find one with free unlimited supercharging and it has a lot of the revisions by the 2016.5 model years to fix motor, battery, door handle, and other problems that were infamous for the first few years.

    Great video guys!
Man! That is unbelievable that a 10 year old car with close to 300,000
miles, that spent its whole life in the Northeast is in that good of condition. WOW!
Taking the car to Tesla for a diagnostic check sounds like the way to go.
I'm looking forward to the next video.

I replaced my PTC heater a couple years ago. I had to remove the passenger knee air bag, glovebox and associated items to allow the PTC heater to slide out. The wood interior trim above the glove box didnt need to be removed. I unbolted and reused the existing high voltage wires from the defective PTC so I didnt have to run the replacement wires to the DC to DC converter.

As previously suggested, take it to Tesla for basic diagnostic, welfare inspection.
So much of this vehicle is modular therefore often not extremely complicated to replace repair.
Many/most modules are too complicated to home rebuild without Tesla specific vendor parts, test tools, quality values, and/or computer software upgrades.
Follow every safety precaution/advice working with high voltage DC is more hazardous than AC.

Tesla Model S and X have a standard OBD-II port under the dash. While the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y lack a standard port, there is a connector at the base of the center console accessible from the back seat where there is access to the CAN bus.

Why do you think it’s the inverter? Just measure the 12V and see that it’s charging. Discinect the fan motor and test if it has voltage. Test the motor with 12V from a battery (strap it in a vice). Then ypu know… No need to throw parts on it.

This looks like newer generation of battery because you have the service cover for the DC battery fuse on the battery in the front right. Originally the fuse was on top of the battery so you had to in case to access it, remove the battery from the car. In case you're interested you can check the label from the battery, its in the front right wheel arch.

In the beginning Tesla was offering warranties with, Unlimited Kilometer or Miles driven.
The Firemans Loop, should definitely be in a more accessible location.
A standard heater core running lines off of the battery cooling system, would have been way simpler for Tesla, then have a grid heater for back up heat.
You know from previous experience, Tesla and water leaks go hand-in-hand.

Over 26,000 Model S, X, 3, and Y vehicles from the 2021 and 2022 model years are included in the recall.
