You can go to get the dreamnail before even fighting the false knight. All ypu need is the lamp from sly, and then you can just go right to the crystal peak through the dark room right of the crossroads stag station. There you can insert geo to a place and a door opens to the crystal peaks.
I got stuck in beasts den on one mask with zero soul and somehow somehow bs-Ed my way through it??? I collected Herra then cried bc I was actually terrified of dying

I wish I had seen this video when I first played hollow knight. I remember fighting broken vessel and jumping every 2 seconds because it's my first reaction to any movement in a game. But it's so much better watching after just going through the game blind

I love being insulted as Windette guides me through the world of hollow knight. I may have completed the game already, but it doesn’t matter all to much to me.
Personally I would've recommended going through royal waterways first since Defender's Crest makes Broken Vessel even easier since you can have better healing opportunities (if you actually need them)
Thats how i won, since the broken vessel wasnt the issue but instead the damn infected balloons that i jumped into everytime i was trying to dodge. so defenders crest made it way easier.

Honestly this is one of my favorite boss fights because right after this you have the option of fighting the dream version and the dream version is quite a bit faster

Hi! I just picked up this game again after putting it down awhile ago (I got stuck on Soul Master), and while I haven't been following these videos' route, watching them has changed a lot about my approach to the game. I just beat Broken Vessel for the first time, but before I did that, I actually ventured into the Royal Waterways and beat Dung Defender. Thus, I found out that if you have the Defender's Crest equipped, the floating jelly blobs basically disintegrate as soon as they get near you, so it was one less thing to worry about (don't run into them, though).
so fun fact, the first time i ever tried to fight xero i didn't know how tf you were supposed to kill dream warriors, and spent the first 5 minutes trying to use the dreamnail midair. 480 hours in Hollow Knight and i still cringe at that.
you guided me through fungal waste (only from the how to get the lever to fight mantis lord). i have waited for so long i got to 109%. (i know he did other stuff after but it's still too late). i still really enjoyed the video with it's humor. (no, this isn't a comment telling him to upload faster and overload him, just a kind of reminder that it would be more helpful if he was faster)
I watched the insulting Hollow Knight guides many times, but imagining how a Deepnest guide would look is still both hilarious and frightening at the same time😅😂

I’m starting to think I took a very unique route for all of this. All before knowing where desolate dive was, I ended up forcing myself into the waterways. Then I crystal dashed into that tall room at 6:20 and decided that stoping half way and doing a pogo off those spikes was a good idea. I was (eventually) successful and made my way to the second half of city of tears, took the elevator, and got the dream nail. After all that, I finally just went and did the soul master boss fight. I’m mostly wanting to share because I think my idiocy is entertaining. That and I’m not sure if I was dumb, skilled, masochistic or all three.
Btw the bubble guy in the broken vessel and lost kin fight actually don’t have any hp they just have something that says one hit kills them so you can use defenders crest and unless you jump or walk into them they will die before they can touch you.
That secret thing on top of the stag station is so infuriating. I got it once, then Steam f*cked my game up and I had to redo almost half the game over again, and still haven't been able to do it again.
