Dang, 1:15 is a pretty good starting place if you’re just now learning to speedrun. The pink cloud in chapter 4 doesn’t require a reverse, you can wave dash off it if you have cat like reflexes
Ya know, the 30 flags at the end has got to be one of the best small details added to a game. Those 30 flags give a countdown that encourages people onward in what would otherwise be a very intimidating section of the game. It gives onlookers something that keeps them at the edge of their seat urging the person they are watching onward as each one is it's own push of excitement. It breaks the otherwise arduous climb into manageable chunks that feel amazing to get past as you count each one off.

What is incredible about this game is that no matter whether you're speed running or playing casually when you reach the end you feel like you have accomplished something incredible. Your feelings resonant with madalin every time. Truely one of the best games even
This is such a windette video. And yet it is very different. The narration, the jokes and the editing is so much the wimdy style I am used to and love. But at the same time. New spices in ways to add memes and jokes. New green screen effect and a very funny sponsor segment. Always trying new things. Your videos may take a very long time. But that is always felt in the quality.

in reality, he never needed to go for search skip because he went for 5b but was so embarrassed about his 5b being bad so he overlayed a 5a run and spliced it together in a pre recorded run but it never mattered since he took so long on 5b that it was the exact same amount of time 5a took... or maybe im just overthinking this

Also, I found AverageImposter a long time ago, and have managed to achieve a sub 54 time. Really great videos, and totally underrated. I was very surprised when I found out that my best time was better than both Wimdy and Blue’s times (at least at the start of the video. I haven’t watch it all yet), lol.
16:04 to 16:38 was definitely my favorite part of the video, the music, the movement- wait why am I looking at this Phyllissonically in the slightest? This is a video filled with dark humor, memes, and was written by a guy who insults his audience! To put it into better words of how much I like this segment. MUSIC VERY GUD.
Ok it’s time, I’m going on my music rant. So I absolutely LOVE Celeste, and it’s music is one of my favorite elements. In my mind, a good game ost uses music that sounds good, but a great one can tell a story. The prologue is a slowed down version of the main theme, leading you into the game, and Madeline to the mountain. When you get to the bridge, a set of rolling notes plays as the bridge collapses, pausing to add tension, only to resolve to a single note, almost like a held breath being released, but also a reaction of surprise and a lack of confidence. Then the city. Now iirc, Lena Raine has stated that the city theme isn’t actually the theme of the city, but the games theme. Like the song was used on the city level but it’s not exactly *for* the city. It introduced the main melody of the game. The next several levels have specific motifs for them. But they all convey the emotional state Madeline is in. Chapter 5 is another important one. When you enter the mirror, the music is now backwards, but on top of that, reversed whispering can be heard. If you reverse the audio again, you can hear Madeline’s inner thoughts, her anxiety and depression, hidden away in the mirror if you will. Then the game play takes a tonal shift in 6. You don’t run from Badeline, she runs from you. This is obviously symbolic for what the song is called “confronting myself.” Now my favorite bit, Chapter 7. It starts with the same rolling notes that ended the prologue, except they’re more full. There are more notes added, and other synth instruments filling out the music. On top of that, the rolling notes don’t build into tension to resolve to a single note, they strongly resolve to the root to repeat as the other instruments build up the rest of the rhythm, following Madeline’s newfound sense of self assurance and confidence. As she progresses back through the levels, the instruments change to match the theme of that area, but the hopeful melody continues. This is still the case in the chapter five segment, it’s just the chords instead. Then we get to 3000. The song restates itself with its own instruments, showing Madeline’s readiness to conquer the challenge set before her. In short, the summit reiterates the levels you have went through, but with an air of finality and confidence, and the music does the same. I love this soundtrack so much, it’s one of my favorites along with Mario Galaxy, outer wilds, hollow knight, and so many others. When i had my first playthrough of this game the way you explained the summit was exactly how it felt where each flag counting down to the summit only pushed you onwards i sqear i gained some hyperfocus in those sections because where i would usually mess up i would nail it forst try almost the whole way up like all of the deaths froms the other chapters and prepared me for it
Problem with this game is that if you don't have friends to spite you into speedrunning it, there's little reason keep going after clearing Chapter 9. (like they say: strawberries don't do anything, they're just there to impress your friends)
to keep playing celeste, you can either go really fast, gather shiny strawberries to really impress your friends, or challenge your platforming skill in alternate universes where the intended way through the level involves copious use of speedrunning tricks (modded maps of the techspam variety)
when i watched your videos for the first time i expected to see at least 750k the fact you only have 197k is a crime you deserve to be known by more people your content is just so good and funny never give up man
I absolutely got destroyed by Celeste, that game made me rage like no other. But seeing you blitzing through it with such passion, with such speed, and omg the narration and everything It was so freaking hype. This video got me goosebumps. Bless you, you absolute legend.
That is a pretty solid result and I congratulate you on putting all of this energy to good use for our entertainment and for SPITE! One remark though: I think you give the key-skip in celestial resort far too much credit. Yes it is pixel-perfect in one dimension, but it is utterly doable. By now I even use it in my golden berry attempts because fuck that key run, the damn demo is more reliable.

This is a video filled with dark humor, memes, and was written by a guy who insults his audience! To put it into better words of how much I like this segment.

Ok it’s time, I’m going on my music rant.
So I absolutely LOVE Celeste, and it’s music is one of my favorite elements. In my mind, a good game ost uses music that sounds good, but a great one can tell a story.
The prologue is a slowed down version of the main theme, leading you into the game, and Madeline to the mountain. When you get to the bridge, a set of rolling notes plays as the bridge collapses, pausing to add tension, only to resolve to a single note, almost like a held breath being released, but also a reaction of surprise and a lack of confidence. Then the city. Now iirc, Lena Raine has stated that the city theme isn’t actually the theme of the city, but the games theme. Like the song was used on the city level but it’s not exactly *for* the city. It introduced the main melody of the game. The next several levels have specific motifs for them. But they all convey the emotional state Madeline is in. Chapter 5 is another important one. When you enter the mirror, the music is now backwards, but on top of that, reversed whispering can be heard. If you reverse the audio again, you can hear Madeline’s inner thoughts, her anxiety and depression, hidden away in the mirror if you will. Then the game play takes a tonal shift in 6. You don’t run from Badeline, she runs from you. This is obviously symbolic for what the song is called “confronting myself.” Now my favorite bit, Chapter 7. It starts with the same rolling notes that ended the prologue, except they’re more full. There are more notes added, and other synth instruments filling out the music. On top of that, the rolling notes don’t build into tension to resolve to a single note, they strongly resolve to the root to repeat as the other instruments build up the rest of the rhythm, following Madeline’s newfound sense of self assurance and confidence. As she progresses back through the levels, the instruments change to match the theme of that area, but the hopeful melody continues. This is still the case in the chapter five segment, it’s just the chords instead. Then we get to 3000. The song restates itself with its own instruments, showing Madeline’s readiness to conquer the challenge set before her. In short, the summit reiterates the levels you have went through, but with an air of finality and confidence, and the music does the same. I love this soundtrack so much, it’s one of my favorites along with Mario Galaxy, outer wilds, hollow knight, and so many others.

When i had my first playthrough of this game the way you explained the summit was exactly how it felt where each flag counting down to the summit only pushed you onwards i sqear i gained some hyperfocus in those sections because where i would usually mess up i would nail it forst try almost the whole way up like all of the deaths froms the other chapters and prepared me for it

Problem with this game is that if you don't have friends to spite you into speedrunning it, there's little reason keep going after clearing Chapter 9.
(like they say: strawberries don't do anything, they're just there to impress your friends)
to keep playing celeste, you can either go really fast, gather shiny strawberries to really impress your friends, or challenge your platforming skill in alternate universes where the intended way through the level involves copious use of speedrunning tricks (modded maps of the techspam variety)

One remark though: I think you give the key-skip in celestial resort far too much credit. Yes it is pixel-perfect in one dimension, but it is utterly doable. By now I even use it in my golden berry attempts because fuck that key run, the damn demo is more reliable.
