This is rigged as hell frisk shouldn't be able to load because it is a game in a game and sans should not have karma damage and you are nerfed the knight like hell wich is were you belong
You forgot to allow the knights to use the shade which is basically after you destroy the physical body the shade appears and it has half HP rounded down
That was definitely one of the Knights Alternative "abilities" (I have it on my spreadsheet) and I agree would have been fitting but everyone has so many abilities I'd never get this finished if I did them all!
@PotatoWaffle33 Yes, the knight can't be controlled or manipulated bc it doesn't have a soul or mind, so this is actually an unfair fight since he kinda bended the rules and wasunbias
Did you really need to nerf The Knight that much? You barely mentionned Descending Dark (best spell they have by far), you completely ignored Shade Cloak (which just lets them dash right through attacks) and you didn't let them use Void Heart. That last one would make sense, to make the battle not completely one-sided... but then you let Frisk use their power to turn back time at will. (Also since when can Frisk just... gain 19 levels by doing literally nothing?)
thats what im saying, like karma cant damage those who haven't killed many people, the knight had some of his most powerful abilities not recognized in the battle yet frisk was allowed to swap from pacifist to genocide for some reason
Hi there! It can be tricky to find a balance that makes sense for the real fight and the "pokemon battle" mechanics since attacks never happen at the same time. Here is how Descending Dark would work: Deals x damage and dodges any attack made on the same turn, consumes soul. The only issue is, Frisk in undertale ALWAYS attacks 1st - so for pokemon mechanics she would already get an attack off before the Descending Dark - we could make descending dark a priority move (like quick attack) - so yes I could have probably included that move - however just like Zero from ep 1 Frisk can essentially repeat fights until they win, meaning for you guys to watch I either only show the outcome that they do win (which I did), or I show you 30+ minutes of almost the same thing over and over and we still get to the same result (eventually given enough tries, Frisk by chance or by skill dodges everything and its back to where we started!) As for Karma, The Knight and Quirrel have 100% killed things in their journey through Hallownest, specifically in the team cherry comic Quirrel is shown killing some smaller critters - sure its in self defense but you can argue self defense for undertale as well as everything is trying to kill you on that as well! And Finally - It is true Frisk gaining 19 levels was a bit inaccurate to the game - but remember LV on undertale means "Level of Violence" basically, intent to kill - after using "check" on the knight and realizing there was no getting through to it via peaceful means they now know they must kill and thus their "Level of Violence" increases. But the real reason: I wanted to showcase both sides of Frisk - if it makes you feel more comfortable just pretend the character made a new save file and got back up to the same part of the "game" but this time at level 20 on a genocide run =P

Not going to lie the fight was one sided from the beginning. Frisk was too powerful the knight wasn’t at its full strength and sans shouldn’t have done karma damage to quirl. But amazing good job
1 frisk was always going to solo the knight, she can literally reset until she wins, no matter how strong knight would be, besides if it was full power Asgore could absorb the 6 human souls and absolutely demolish everything with his God like power (even stronger omega flowey, literally), also Bscotch pie is a full heal so even in battle frisk got underpowered anyway 2 why shouldn't karma work on quirell? If you think 'oh karma doesn't work unless target has high LV' thats literally never mentioned, nothing even remotely implies that
@ ok fine, let’s give the characters at their full potential. Quriel vs sans: sans knight vs frisk: tie maybe depends on the context nightmare king Grimm vs Asgore: nkg victory
I actually feel like Knight's Soul Absorbtion was overlooked cause like... That's what it sounds like, overtime the more Knight hit Frisk the more soul it would've absorbed, nullifying Frisk's ability to come back the more soul Knight absorbed, that should've been a game changer right there and I don't know why not many are talking about it
@Neeeeewt the white lady tells you that you're free of the impurities found in the hollow knight. He wasn't casted aside because of impurities, he just wasn't the first to the top, the cosen vessel was also impure, and that's the reason you have to go and either take his place to seal the radiance within yourself or eliminate the radiance entirely
@Neeeeewt well, I think there's still a chance the knight is also impure, because it's quite an imprecice concept, but basing off of what the white lady tells us, it's probably pure
Ok so the way I made the trident work (but to not overload the fight with too much I didnt add text for it) is it forces anyone hit to only use direct damage moves (like how taunt works on pokemon) but since NKG ONLY had damage moves I didn't bother specifying. What I will do is a few shorts going over each move and the mechanics I had in mind as some don't come into play (eg NKG flame trail was supposed to damage anyone doing a melee attack afterwards but by chance Asgore never did one on the same turn)
13:34 wow so genius to use shield against the attack that GOES THROUGH SHIELDS AND BE SUCCESSFUL!!! 10:29 also here knight was able to pogo of Sans’s bones by using nail and don’t say that that Sans was holding him or something because in undertale when Sans was doing that attack he stopped using his telekinesis and after attacked with bones and you were able to avoid it and finally where is knight’s shade and shadow dash?
This video is pretty cool, but I still feel like the knight would just turn into the void lord and then immediately one shot everyone (and nightmare King Grimm can easily kill asgore just saying)
Hey, I know this isn't related to the video, but have you heard of a channel called Pokédex Fillers? When I saw this, I just immediately thought of how cool it'd be to have you two work on something together!
Sans (ghost/dark) [Ability: Shortcut. Any incoming attack is avoided until the Pokémon gets exhausted, when it will fall asleep for the rest of the battle]: "Despite being so weak, it has great speed, so it usually wins most of its fights... most..." Frisk (normal)/Frisk Geno (normal/fighting) [ability: Determination. When the opponent's pokemon heals in anyway, it creates a checkpoint to come back stronger after going down]: "Not many have survived its enraged form, but not many can't say no to its pacifism" Asgore (Steel/Fire) [Ability: Monsterkind. A king gives all to his people, nobody can run from the battle]: "It is uncertain why despite apparently having everything this Pokémon still feels so unhappy, but it serves as a motivation to give hope to its similars". Quirrel (Bug/Fighting) [ability: Monomon. A powerfull mask protects the Pokémon from all damage from non-priority contact moves]: "It once had a live previous to the one it had, but it can't remember as a part of its duty". The Knight (Ghost/Dark) [Ability: Regrets. After being defeated, the shadow of the Pokémon still attacks enemies for a 3 turns]: "It can heal itself and cast various spells using the soul gathered through its nail, which is its first selfdefense weapon" NKG (Dark/Fire) [Ability: Nightmare Heart. Gets an increasing Atk and SpeAtk as health decreases and if attacked before in its first turn] "It is said it lives in a world different from ours, where nightmares and reality fuse. Always acts as if it was in an Theatre act"
Great video! I love how well you translate game mechanics to Pokemon moves and abilities. I also love the little interactions in the battle like The Knight not giving a single crap about ACTs, Frisk immediately skedaddling after seeing Grimm, Asgore hesitating to kill, etc. I will say that while I like how you translated Frisk to this format, I feel like including them made the outcome kinda predictable. Team Hollow Knight had no way of getting past SAVEs. I think opting for Undyne or Mettaton instead would've made things more fair.
@@Vegathron actually the knight should have won despite the saves becuase he can use his dash and frisk can only gain levels by killing wich didnt happen at all so yeah team hollow knight should have won this
After Sans killed Quirrel, he should have respawned because he sat on a bench. Also the knights nail slash should have been multi-hit because Gaster Blaster for Sans takes like 2 seconds to charge (-ish just an estimate) and in that time, the knight can land 6 nail strikes. This should have been an easy win for team hollow knight.
I love how I check on this channel after like half a month (I don't want to spoil myself on Nine Sols when I still have to go through it ^^) and I get blessed with this video! I'll watch it after work asap :D Hollow Knight vs. Undertale is definitely my dream video for this ngl
What would actually happen: an endless battle between Quirrell and Frisk, where the first will never die because he is not on the battlefield, and the second because he is constantly loading
It's funny how the author is aware of the power of the ability to save and load. I still wake up in nightmares after the author's choice for the "katana zero" team.
There is something called "Skill neatrulize" between verses like JJK Mahito needs to touch an person's soul to transfigure them but other anime characters like Goku doesnt have an soul like JJK so they use "Skill neatrulize" to yk use transfigure with or without the soul so its an fair fight. It applies with Sans and Knight and every character
Next, do Hollow Knight vs. Ori and the will of the wisps. Both games had a bit of beef with each other after accusations of Ori copying Hollow Knight. It would be ironic and epic if you made a battle between these two metroidvanias. Ps, if you do this, I will sub
Next time rematch with most op characters in HK (Absolute Radiance, NKG and Shade Lord) vs most op characters in UT (pacifist Asriel, Omega/photoshop Flowey and Asgore) perhaps?
Hollow Knight absolutely neg diffs, I doubt the power of willpower and determination will do anything to literal gods and the God Of Gods the only thing that determination could do is restart the fight but that doesn’t change the fact that I don’t doubt that the God of Gods would literally be untouchable and instakill Frisk and would likely cause Frisk’s determination to wane ultimately winning over time or just do a Flowey I mean they are gods what’s really stopping that from happening (I don’t know if I’m underestimating Undertale right now and it’s 2am and I’m dead tired right now and I just realized this wasn’t about Shade Lord vs Frisk and I ranted this much so I’m going to sleep now)
The problem I have with this fight is that genocide Frisk should've been determined to kill the Nightmare King Grimm instead of fleeing. In a genocide run Frisk is determined to kill every last monster in the underground. This battle SHOULD'VE ended with Frisk demolishing everyone. I understand it was more balanced this way but it still feels unsatisfying. I also think Flowey should've been chosen instead of Asgore. In my opinion, this should've been entirely one-sided in favor of Undertale due to the characters' immense power and ability to time-travel back and forth.
You know what I think is there's so many characters in hollow knight so it would go differently if different characters were use like hornet and there's also knight with his charm build meaning the knight can have different charms like flukenest and defenders crest
Yep no doubt this isn't Hollow Knights optimal lineup however in the 1st episode (check it out if you haven't!) Hornet is part of that Hollow Knight team and I figured seeing the same characters over and over might be less interesting :) Flowey would be insane and pretty fun but my brain melts just thinking of converting his mechanics to pokemon (Frisk was tricky enough!)
Don't get me wrong, this video was great, but I think that team HK was significantly underpowered. Quirrel vs Sans was done very well, but the knight was drastically restricted in its abilities while Frisk was buffed. Ashore was done pretty well, but NKG was extremely nerfed, as he is actually one of the top 5 hardest bosses in the game, probably 3rd imo. I think that NKG should not have been hit every time, because you gave sans his dodge, but neglected the fact that for about half of the fight, NKG is blinked away and you can't attack him. He also didn't get enough balloon phases and wasn't dealing enough damage. Most of his attacks are aoe, but asgore is HUGE and NKG would have had a LOT of projectiles hit him for the spike floor attack, and balloon attack to name a few, and they should have done more damage.
When hanging out with undyne in waterfall doing pacifist run, she says that asgore can dodge and block. Also sans can cheat in a fight btw but thats just a small detail idk how can someone do it in a pokemon-style fight. Anyways good video and keep up the good work :)
Quirrel won't get KR damage due to KR damage only activating when a foe has done many bad deeds. The knight won't be affected by telekanesis due to him not having a soul, once the knight is dead it drops a shade which should also be used in combat it would've been cooler, regardless of the knight having void heart or not it will still drop a shade. (Just a pointer for ya🤗)
As a fan of both games this was very cool, although I feel like somethings in this wouldn't work in this setting. For example, I don't think sans' spare thing makes sense here because there are no reasons shown for them to fight so there would be no reason for sans to trick quirrel and there would be no reason for quirrel to accept. I understand though that these things were included to showcase the characters abilities rather than to make complete sense because a battle like this wouldn't make complete sense anyway. Also I feel like frisk saving and the knight dropping a shade and respawning at the last bench are fairly similar abilities that are both canon but frisk got extra with the genocide part too while the knight didn't get a shade at all I'm just nitpicking a bit and it doesn't overly matter. I can tell a lot of work went into it and translating characters into a battle like this isn't easy. I didn't even know or don't remember the Asgore leaving you at 1hp thing. This was very cool and I'm glad I found it
Hey man! I really appreciate that you kind of "get it" in the way that, while the ultimate result of who wins is accurate in my my oppinion, some things were done to showcase the abilities and keep it a fun viewing experience! Right on!
While I will say that I from the start figured Undertale would win no matter what due to Frisk’s save/load ability, I do wonder why HollowKnight was given the team it did. While I can understand not giving The Knight VoidHeart because of the nonsense that comes with a being able to devour the realm of GodHome. I still wonder why HollowKnight was not given The Radiance (or Absolute Radiance if you’re willing to take GodHome variants) and PureVessel (again if GodHome things aren’t allowed something like WatcherKnights could’ve been an interesting concept as well as a strong fighter). While I do love HollowKnight to death, I’ll admit I knew they would lose from the start, but I still do wonder why they were given the cast they were.
Okay I'm just going to say the night could have just phase through some of frisk or Sans attacks with shade dash and that ability doesn't require charms to use.
Remember that Sans lost to a boy with a knife and a lot of determination while the Knight defeated the king of nightmares and a deity of light and dreams, Besides, knight is not afraid of killing
One Thing, One Thing Made Them Win, One Thing. Also I Don't Know If It Would Change The Outcome Of The Battle In Any Way But The Knight Can Respawn On The Last Thing He Sat On Or The Last Place He Lost Consousness Depending On The Circumstances, And NKG Is A Literal Nightmare How Do You Kill A Nightmare
Frisk shouldn’t get to revive because it’s a part of the game. You could say that about every single video game main character because they respawn if they die.
And, by what some hk theories suggest, and the description of the voidsoul charm, it would have made the knight .ore vulnerable to emotional and mental tactics.
Great video but sans can still dodge after sleeping its frusks second supruze attack that kills sans maybe you could have done it by sans geting killed by a two hit attack or on the second attack after sleeping
Well in your opinion this is how it woukd go going by the actual power levels of these characters in their game would make this trivial though aka knight could win all on his own
I kinda don't disagree, Undertale has characters that can delete reality itself. You also underestimate the ability to go infinite retries I think. HK is certainly strong but not reality deleting strong.
@Vegathron i think yes cuz the knigth beats the radiance who created a large amout ouf dimentions that are stated to be infinite size and separated from each other just that i did not went to deep in undertale lore but from what ive seen i think the knight wins just that
Radiance can beat all undertale character cuz they have hopes and dreams and little ghost can respawn like frisk so he can beat sans from the first time cuz he shurly tried and died befor that undertal cannot beat Hollow knight

What I will do is a few shorts going over each move and the mechanics I had in mind as some don't come into play (eg NKG flame trail was supposed to damage anyone doing a melee attack afterwards but by chance Asgore never did one on the same turn)
If you had used Pure Vessel or Radiance instead of Quirrel team Hollow Knight would have won. Cool video but there should be a rematch! 👍
They are all 2 inches tall
@@jennyharris1853 yeah but that doesn't make the fight fun now does it?
you should have made zote the first charecter he would have soloed
That would actually be hilarious. Found my April fools vid idea =P
Two inches tall
@@jennyharris1853 3 ft tall
Hey, I know this isn't related to the video, but have you heard of a channel called Pokédex Fillers? When I saw this, I just immediately thought of how cool it'd be to have you two work on something together!
Hey there! No I haven't heard of that one! I will be sure to check it out!
Sans (ghost/dark) [Ability: Shortcut. Any incoming attack is avoided until the Pokémon gets exhausted, when it will fall asleep for the rest of the battle]: "Despite being so weak, it has great speed, so it usually wins most of its fights... most..."
Frisk (normal)/Frisk Geno (normal/fighting) [ability: Determination. When the opponent's pokemon heals in anyway, it creates a checkpoint to come back stronger after going down]: "Not many have survived its enraged form, but not many can't say no to its pacifism"
Asgore (Steel/Fire) [Ability: Monsterkind.
After being defeated, the shadow of the Pokémon still attacks enemies for a 3 turns]: "It can heal itself and cast various spells using the soul gathered through its nail, which is its first selfdefense weapon"
NKG (Dark/Fire) [Ability: Nightmare Heart. Gets an increasing Atk and SpeAtk as health decreases and if attacked before in its first turn] "It is said it lives in a world different from ours, where nightmares and reality fuse. Always acts as if it was in an Theatre act"
This is brilliant, love it!
@@Vegathron Glad to hear that =)
This is great! However I think a slight critique is geno frisk should be normal dark/ fighting dark considering what they have done.
@@ethanthaman2858 ye, I can see that
Great video!
Undyne would have been really fun to do, If there was a 4th member she was 100% going to be it! and Yeah Frisk OP
For the save this is depend of if we are in undertale universe of not
@@Vegathron actually the knight should have won despite the saves becuase he can use his dash and frisk can only gain levels by killing wich didnt happen at all so yeah team hollow knight should have won this
After Sans killed Quirrel, he should have respawned because he sat on a bench.
I'll watch it after work asap :D
Hollow Knight vs. Undertale is definitely my dream video for this ngl
Hey good to see another familiar face! I hope it lives up to the dream! =D
@@VegathronIt sure did
When your level 100 knight doesn’t one shot the level 1 child:
Everyone else: dies.
Frisk: alright im outta here
Shouldn’t muffeet be replaced with Flowey after all he’s a far more notable character
17:32 team cherry at the slightest inconvenience. In all seriousness great video
Sans when No Guard walks into the room:
Honestly real tho
Next, do Hollow Knight vs. Ori and the will of the wisps. Both games had a bit of beef with each other after accusations of Ori copying Hollow Knight. It would be ironic and epic if you made a battle between these two metroidvanias.
Ps, if you do this, I will sub
bet that, hk is going to DESTROY ori, and if hk doesn’t, EVERYTHING IS RIGGED.
Was he using the fan made dlc during the Knights part?
Yes he did
My only real complaint is shade soul not being able to go through Frisk's shield. This was a great video!
Love the hollow knight vs. undertale in pokemon theme! It's very cool.
BREAKING NEWS: Weird bug thing seen assaulting a small child.
Just imagine a conversation between frisk and the knight💀
1:03 You spelled Gaster wrong!!! >:( It's gastEr blaster, not gastOr blaster.
My brain was on vacation when I wrote that. Thankfully I spelled it correctly everywhere else =P
Snas be playing 6d chess
Delaying silksong another year hit hard. Too real
You know what I think is there's so many characters in hollow knight so it would go differently if different characters were use like hornet and there's also knight with his charm build meaning the knight can have different charms like flukenest and defenders crest
You chose Quirrel over Absolute Radiance / Pale King / Pure Vessel???
We need more of this
Hornet instead of quirel would have been cool, and flowey would have been cool in this
Yep no doubt this isn't Hollow Knights optimal lineup however in the 1st episode (check it out if you haven't!) Hornet is part of that Hollow Knight team and I figured seeing the same characters over and over might be less interesting :) Flowey would be insane and pretty fun but my brain melts just thinking of converting his mechanics to pokemon (Frisk was tricky enough!)
Soooo no chara? They have world destroying power
Grim went in with the clutch. I wish that frisk would have sparred though
why is this so good i love it
I'm a bit confused why the b.scotch pie did not full heal, but whatever.
Nightmare isn't polite, who is polite is normal Grimm. NKG in game just want to kill us and it's all
Priceless
As a fan of both games this was very cool, although I feel like somethings in this wouldn't work in this setting. For example, I don't think sans' spare thing makes sense here because there are no reasons shown for them to fight so there would be no reason for sans to trick quirrel and there would be no reason for quirrel to accept.
I understand though that these things were included to showcase the characters abilities rather than to make complete sense because a battle like this wouldn't make complete sense anyway.
Also I feel like frisk saving and the knight dropping a shade and respawning at the last bench are fairly similar abilities that are both canon but frisk got extra with the genocide part too while the knight didn't get a shade at all
I'm just nitpicking a bit and it doesn't overly matter.
Right on!
You should've put markoth instead of quirrel .....but all together w vid man
There are just too many cool choices man! I want to do them all but its not realistic sadly.
17:32 I mean, at least Deltarune is coming out
>:(
I love deltrune but silksong
So this is why silksong is still getting delayed and deltarune is coming out with more content
Dr.Gaster vs Radiance. Just saying¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You forgot about how when he does it summons a black ghost
Would be REALLY funny if shade lord was a part of this (chara too as I am fairly certain they can just erase stuff)
Remember that Sans lost to a boy with a knife and a lot of determination while the Knight defeated the king of nightmares and a deity of light and dreams, Besides, knight is not afraid of killing
apart from the fact that the karmic attribution does not affect him because he has no mind to think
I would like to say that the knight can avoid being damaged if it had shade cloak
Why didn't the Knight spawn the shadow and then don't just collect it to continue the fight?
Frisk shouldn’t get to revive because it’s a part of the game. You could say that about every single video game main character because they respawn if they die.
Wait we ain’t gonna talk
About pie vessal
This is so unbelievably unfair for Undertale…
if the Radiance was there.
why is quirrel and grim here? shouldn't it be the knight hornet and hallow knight
probably but quirrel best boi so he gets a pass, and grim probably threatened arson to vega to be added in
@@averyblurryduck749true
I'd personally find some way to kill monomon so quirrel doesn't have to give back the mask
the music is from pokemon uranium right?
@thescarletking9 correct yes.
Amazing video!!
And, by what some hk theories suggest, and the description of the voidsoul charm, it would have made the knight .ore vulnerable to emotional and mental tactics.
Interesting point!
Shouldn't the pie be a full heal? 🤔 12:48
This is an amazing animation nonetheless!
The pie heals for 99hp, while everyone (at least everyone on the Hollow Knight side) had 200hp or 300hp
Yeah this was 1 mistake I'll admit, should have fully healed. Wouldn't have changed the outcome but still it does irk me I forgot the full heal!
Not accurate nkg doesnt bow asgore only hesitates against humans and frisk can easily dodge same as quirell
EXACTLY, THIS VIDEO IS SO NOT ACCURATE
Great video but sans can still dodge after sleeping its frusks second supruze attack that kills sans maybe you could have done it by sans geting killed by a two hit attack or on the second attack after sleeping
YOU DONT MENTION THE GREAT PAPYRUS, BUT YOU MENTION SANS OF ALL PEOPLE?, DESPICABELE
17:30 I'M FUKCIGN DYING
Aren’t the hollow knight characters bugs. Are they actually as large as humans/monsters or are they the size of like spiders?
Why did npt sans swich out?
Frisk be like: NOPE NOT DEALING WITH A DEMON
I like to imagine it as "I'm bored now. OH look over there! A flower!"
@@Vegathron it's still kinda ironic that geno frisk just leaves mid fight lol
Well in your opinion this is how it woukd go going by the actual power levels of these characters in their game would make this trivial though aka knight could win all on his own
Feat and lore wise hollow knigth slams undertale
I kinda don't disagree, Undertale has characters that can delete reality itself. You also underestimate the ability to go infinite retries I think. HK is certainly strong but not reality deleting strong.
@Vegathron i think yes cuz the knigth beats the radiance who created a large amout ouf dimentions that are stated to be infinite size and separated from each other just that i did not went to deep in undertale lore but from what ive seen i think the knight wins just that
You should add Nine Sols to this
Butterscotch pie fully heals...
It's not Karmic Retribution it's just KARMA. OK?
THATS SICKKK!!
Radiance can beat all undertale character cuz they have hopes and dreams and little ghost can respawn like frisk so he can beat sans from the first time cuz he shurly tried and died befor that undertal cannot beat Hollow knight
Radiance can beat anything with brain
not really seeing as some undertale characters like omega flowey, asriel and chara can manipulate time, destroy worlds etc.
