C'mon Nick! It might be the King of Kings if you're in the Apple ecosystem, but it needs some serious additions to say that applies overall.
Of course, I’m typing this on my 14 Pro Max, which is the king of kings.
Which charger are you using? 20W from apple? I'm wondering whether to use 5W out of concern for the batteries, I understand that you charge up to 80%.
I wish my standard size 14 Pro had a more powerful zoom capability but other than that it’s a very nice phone that has gotten better with the latest updates. The one other thing I wish for the next version is a bit of a weight reduction, right now the Pro phones seem unnecessarily heavy

one small thing i liked in the 14 is the face unlock animation in the dynamic island it grabs your attention to the Face ID sensor so it unlocks faster on the other hand i have to to remember to point my eyes to the face ID sensor on the 13
you have to be looking at the face id module for it to work💀 unless you turn this feature off

Nick, how do you deal with the smaller default font size in this 14 PM?
I switched over to iPhone after years of being an android user. It’s different in a lot of areas (major differences from being an Samsung A series user). Never had an apple product before and this does not disappoint. I didn’t get the pro max but instead got the 14 pro. Great phone overall!!
I got one too buddy, I feel this, 5 years ago I switched to apple. The funny thing is the “privacy” part. Sadly I don’t know if it listens to me or not but it does have suggestions that worry me

but realistically I dont care that much, usb c will make me carry another cable apart from the one for my airpods
and a16 bionic will have support until 2029 and the battery lasts me a day and a half, so i dont care that much about a bigger battery either

I've read somewhere that its actually smaller (by 2-3 mm lol) then the Plus and that the battery drains faster then on the Plus. I guess its the AOD and other new features are responsible for this ?
I have the 14 Pro Max in Silver and I wouldn’t call it the King of Kings, but I’d call it the King of Consistency. You know what you’re getting into with iOS - it’s basically an appliance at this point. If you want variety you go Android 💯

I have always used the regular sized iphones. The Max iphones seemed too big for my one-hand usage so i avoided it. But now with the new updates in the user interface, the safari navigation/address bar is at the bottom and i think that will help me get used to it. I still dont know how typing one handed will feel. Phone arrives tomorrow so we shall see

I went from a 13 pm to a 14pm and in my experience the 14 pm is better the dynamic island looks better than the notch and somewhat useful the display is much brighter the aod is handy too as far as battery life even with aod on it still last all day and then some the cameras I don’t see much difference it’s still fantastic tho

I traded in my 1TB iPhone 13pm for a new 14pm and I agree with @bamaboyburns8079
I came from an XS. Battery isn’t all that great. It’s definitely not “all day”. It’s average battery at best. I pushed this thing to it’s limit when I travelled to Europe. The 14 pro max couldn’t NEVER get through a single day. I would always find my phone dead by 4 or 5 pm. Pathetic. Performance wise I can’t complain. Camera and pictures were excellent even in low light. But is the 14 PM the king? No.
King of phones is classed as the most popular selling phone not the most specced, therefore all manufacturers try and compete with iPhone 14 Pro Max as it’s by FAR the most popular and best selling.
Id appreciate everyone's opinion about this. Should I just buy the iphone 14 pro max like now or just wait for the 15 I'm really not sure what to do at this point
If ur able wait! With that being said Iphones don't lose value so don't put yourself through a bunch of BS if you need a phone now

I’ve never had the latest phone and currently use my iPhone 8 that I’ve had for around 7 or 8 years and although it’s still going strong, I’d really like to experience a phone with an amazing camera and battery life so I’m thinking about upgrading to one of the iPhone 14 models 😊

How you have 100% and my buddy is at 89% and he had always on display everyday since launch fox you turn off always on display from day one? And if so that what really made it great my 13 pro max is at 86 and still running I use everyday heavy
Probably keeping his phone plugged in when using it , while it’s plugged in that stresses out the battery and can lead to having your maximum capacity reduced ! When getting a new device you want charge it while you sleep or not using it and then through the day try to let it run out to like 30 % and the use the charger don’t use the chargers if you don’t need to !
I love my iPhone! I also think you should buy what you like and really enjoy it!

My iPhone 14 Pro Max is king. Even though it doesn’t have that wow factor. It performs consistently fast and I’m able to do everything. That’s what I care about.
Both 13 pro max and iPhone 14 pro max are kings
I had the 14 Pro Max since launch and although it doesn’t give me the wow that the 13 Pro Max did, it’s still a top tier phone as far as consistency. The battery life is actually a lot better after the 16.5 update and takes over the 13 Pro Max as battery king (not by much but AOD and a smaller mAh). Also paired with the Apple ecosystem, it’s definitely a no brainer.
And before I get labeled as “isheep” because I didn’t croon over an Android phone, I have the S23 Ultra with the entire Samsung ecosystem too.

@@Batman19203 depends on what you want; I think as an ecosystem, the Samsung ecosystem can keep up with Apple HOWEVER, Apple smartwatches have the advantage of having apps made for them. Like, my Samsung Watch 5 has hardly any apps for it.
@@superiortoall22 agreed.. having used both the ecosystems myself, I found that the Samsung watch is quite limited in functionality as of now.
I’ve been supremely careful with my 14 Pro Max and within the last week, I watched my battery health drop from 97%-96%. I find this concerning for my device’s longevity. Might have to upgrade earlier than I planned.

I hate mine. Siri doesn't always work, face id quite often doesn't work, doesn't always wake up when you tap it, the phone is super slow at times (like loading Google Maps), and it's clumsy. They tried so hard to make it more intuitive, but in reality they just made it worse.

As a fellow iPhone 14 Pro Max user, I’ve gotta say it’s the best phone to date. The dynamic island is highly underrated. As a person who listens for music for hours, it’s awesome.
Although I don’t like 2 things about it-
- 1st is that it sometimes tends to overexpose images/videos. For instance, try putting your subject directly in front of a sunset and it’ll make the entire sun set white
-2nd, the zoom; but hey, we all know that ultra zoom is pretty useless and impractical
There will never be a better phone company than apple to be honest.

@@123theprodigy5I’ve had both. They are literally the same phone battery is about the same in my experience. I just like the 14 pro max because it has the newest feature the dynamic island a feature I actually enjoy and use especially since I travel a lot for work.

Honestly prefer the 13 Pro Max or 13 Pro. The dynamic island I’m not a huge fan of as it feels like it’s more in the way when watching or playing games.

I own it I dig it got mine cheap I wanted to sell I hated the black but I’ve grown to love it this phone is so nice i tried the 14 pro and couldn’t help but want a bigger screen I still own both but I find myself only using the 14 pro at night while my 14 pro max charges or just to look at the silver color which I still love
Watching this on my iPhone 14 pro max, came from android, much prefer the face unlock, I was tempted by the pixel 7 pro, but kept my iPhone 😊 I’ve had bugs & glitches, but nowhere near as many as android glitches, do miss android 😢sometimes, love the ability to set moving wallpapers on android, still on the fence over the pixel though 🤷♀️

How do you keep your battery capacity at 100%? I'm about to buy the 14 pro max and I want to have a healthy battery.
Use only the Apple 5W charger and try not to ever let your battery drop below 30%. I even use a WiFi plug with my charger and have it set up so the phone only charges for 3hrs per night and turns off. I still have 100% battery health and have had the phone since launch
Or just use the phone and enjoy it and don’t worry about the battery health as it’s pretty cheap to get it replaced anyway. If you let spending 1k on a phone you want to use it so don’t worry.

I don't know man. My wife has iPhone 14 PRO and before she had S22. Everyone around us moved to iPhone and tempted my wife to change because "iPhone is the best, nothing comes even close " they said. So she changed from S22 to iPhone 14 PRO, she didn't want PRO Max because of the size. Well she's not that impressed about the phone compared to S22 and the hype people created around 14 PRO. It an ok phone but nothing to be blown away, even so my wife says that in some scenarios S22 made better pictures than 14 PRO. I have an S23 Ultra and if you ask me S23U smokes 14 PRO without a doubt. I'm still trying to figure what people see that special at iPhones, particulary 14 PRO lineup.

I think the iPhones have consistency, I had the S22+ and my fiance had the 13 Pro and the 13 Pro ran circles around the S22+ in performance, camera and battery, even though it was older. I traded my S22+ for an S23 Ultra for my Android/secondary phone and use 14 Pro Max as my daily driver, I feel like my 14 Pro Max holds up better. The battery on the 14 Pro Max has pulled away from the S23U, idk if the latest OS update on the S23U has decreased battery efficiency or what but it isn’t as close of a match like it use to be when the S23U came out.
@superiortoall22 I don't know, i'm totally unimpressed by iPhone 14 PRO compared to S23U. Yes compared to S22 is better but not to the "magnitude " people want to believe. I don't see that big of improvement from S22 to iPhone 14 PRO as the price difference is between them. IPhone 14 PRO was more than double the price of S22.
@@bogdan7800 probably depends on how you view the phones; I will be using my S23U for the first time since late April for travel because I’m totally fine with my iPhone, I guess I also throw the ecosystem into equation, not really a big fan of Samsung’s ecosystem versus Apple’s so that could be my reasoning.
I never had the S22 but when it came down to it, the 13 Pro lasted significantly longer than the S22+ when we traveled and I believe the S22+ was more expensive. The camera was a lot more consistent on the iPhone 13 Pro than the S22+ with the Samsung only taking the cake with the zoom which, I don’t use past 10x on a phone anyways. If a phone can’t do the simple things like battery efficiency when I need it then I take it into account, some people like the “vanity features” which is cool 💁🏽♂️

Look no hate to iphone but I think when you sell a phone to consumers you must make the phone fun and as what I've seen with the s23 ultra Iphone is no where near,not everything has to be about a camera.
I have already seen more than 80 videos, I have tested the S23 Ultra and the iPhone 14 max in the store myself, nowhere do I say that the S23 Ultra would be better in everything, but viewed overall? Rest assured that the S23 Ultra is the absolute king. And I am an Apple fanboy, years ago I was very often accused; Apple fanboy, while I just give honest reviews.
Of course this is different for everyone, someone who has everything from Apple at home must of course have an iPhone :-).
But why didn't I buy an iPhone anymore?
No USB-C.
The screen and brightness left something to be desired.
The charging time is very slow with the iPhone.
The thick notch on the previous models.
The thick beeven, it's already a bit better but I would really like those beeven to be a bit thinner like with the samsung and other models.
I also sometimes experienced problems with apps that jumped away again, I could not use the app, I do not encounter this with the Samsung.
I would like to buy an iPhone max again, but they must meet a number of requirements such as the Usb-c ;-). And then we'll see what we're going to do. Depends a bit on the price in combination with a subscription.
Sales of 14 PM is much higher than S23 Ultra. Sales numbers determine the true King.

I have the s23 and the 14 PM. Though samsung has come a long way, I keep coming back to the 14Pro Max as the combination of the performance,camera and just the overall refinement of iOS is unmatched imo. But that’s just me.

I myself got the smaller brother of the King - 6.1 inch 14 Pro, 1TB, Silver - which for me is the King of compact smartphones 👍🏼 I love the form factor and it’s a beast as well in every aspect 🔥

@@fahrradbang69 Yep, compact phones nowadays would have been considered „phablets“ a few years ago 😅 but don’t forget that screen bezels hugely reduced over the years, a 6.1 inch device in like 2012 would have been way bigger or the same size but like a 5 inch display.
