The 28 longest touchdown passes of QB Rex Grossman's career
He had a cannon and wasn’t afraid to fire that mother. Gotta give him that.
Was also known for poor choice making when it came to launching that cannon but kudos
@@Krypt708 he had a good arm. That’s the only thing I can give him. He was with my team (WFT) for a minute and got to scare the hell out of us too. So thanks Chicago.
For real he had a heck of an arm
Grossman in 2006 had 8 games with a passer rating of at least 98.6 and over with 19 TD'S and 2 ints, for a 114 passer rating with the Bears outscoring their opponents 292-108. His season total was about a 73 passer rating with 23-20 td-int ratio, with a cumulative 135 points scored 147 allowed. Someone should do a video on the most bipolar season of quarterback play in the history of the NFL.
Ima DIE HARD BEARS FAN, I Never Fully Understood The Hate Rex Got Here... I Wanted The Bears To Draft Him & I’m Happy They Did, He Wasn’t Bad. He Didn’t Get A Fair Shake Here!
He did though. They gave him many chances but he couldn't handle much pressure. When a defender got in his face he went straight to panic mode
He had a rocket cannon for an arm
@@joshp146 Rex had a strong arm and had some really good games for Chicago during the 2006-07 year. Unfortunately, the combination of injuries and interceptions hurt his career in the long term.
Me to I loved rex Grossman he was an OK QB he took my bears to the super bowl
@@JOHNNYCHICAGO8 No. Thomas Jones and the D were solely responsible for that SB run. Look at his stats...homeboy was a trash fire
What about his touchdown to Berrian in the Divisional Playoffs?
The year the bears went to the superbowl he started with the bombs with Berrian but by the AZ Monday night game every figure that out and then he went on the INT run of a lifetime. He was considered the early MVP
Good point Alex. Bears fans forget that Grossman was in the hunt for MVP prior to the Arizona Monday night game. It was sort of the turning point of Grossman's career and he was never quite the same after that game. He had a tremendously strong arm, but would throw soul-crushing interceptions as well.
@@BillyDScott-lp4sw yes and his mechanics would get worse as the season went on. He liked to throw off his back foot as well. There were times were he would show great throws and choice making would be great but then there would be fatal throws to end the game. I tell people if they want to see the best throw by Grossman look at the game winner vs Denver when he threw a bullet to the outside in the end zone where Berrian would only be able to get it.
@@alexknapik1805 I forgot about Grossman's poor mechanics. Good point! At times, Grossman to Berrian was a lethal combination (as you rightly indicate with Denver, for example). I still liked Grossman overall, but wish things had turned out better for him and the Bears.
@@BillyDScott-lp4sw same here man same here lol bear down!
FUCK IT, I'M GOING DEEP
The Bears had the 2nd most improved offense the year they went to the Super Bowl. They had a really good RB and one good receiver although Berrian wasn't bad either that year. They also had a really old OL. The most improved offense was the Saints with a new QB named Brees. The Bears had a lot of turnover on the offensive staff when he was there too. He was definitely a class act though.
This is gold
Rexy was a true gunslinger
Always a good move, get to a super bowl, the get rid of your #1 WR And #1 RB ... bears in a nutshell, great players swimming threw a horrible organization...
Some of the turnovers could be attributed to his height. He was a gun slinger who would run plays out of the I because he couldn't see over his lineman before the snap. A lot of his terrible interceptions were on plays he literally didn't see the defender.
Is it me or were the Grossman led Bears a great team!! I mean we went the Superbowl that year...we lost but we got there. Didn't understand all the hate towards Grossman.
Up against Peyton in his prime
Gotta unleash the dragon
St8 Bombz.
1:41 the play by play commentary here is football god like level
Actually showed a lot of promise with the skins I thought he would get another chance for sure
He wont that bad.
Agree 100%. Grossman has some great long throws in Washington & he could play. They made a big deal about Kaepernick being a “Super Bowl QB” but no one wanted the same consideration for Rex. Rex could play.
Branthro Perro Grossman had an 11 year career. Honestly I’ve seen more white QBs have long careers as backups than black QBs. Until just the last few years almost all of long term backups were white. A lot of coaches wanted a backup who played in a pro style offense in both college & high school so white QBs who washes out as starters had a chance to stay in the NFL as backups.
Branthro Perro Ok, I see what you mean. Yes I can’t imagine Kap in an offense that reads defenses. Bill Parcells said that QBs had to be picked for the skills they acquired in college meaning that QBs who only ran RPO schemes in college weren’t a good fit for Erhardt-Perkins systems in the NFL. Seems that it got so bad that the NFL started using lots of college schemes to help QBs develop. Kap never truly learned to read defenses & it’s interesting to go back & look at criticism of him from 2013-2015. The Ravens hired Kap’s former OC from the 49ers & wanted to sign him to run the offense that now use but Kap’s GF destroyed that w/a racist tweet so the Ravens signed RG3 & selected Lamar Jackson in the next draft.
Grossman > Cutler
Really dude you prefer that trash qb over Cutler
@@isiahbanks147 Cutler hands down fuck rex
@@isiahbanks147 Cutler had way more help than Rex did. Bear's starting OL was the oldest in the league the year after they went to the SB. Bears were the 2nd most improved offense in the NFL the only full year he played ... and he was the only major change. The best was the Saints with a new QB named Brees.
@@michaelschaefer1904 you want to know what's crazy we made the super bowl with that trash qb
@@isiahbanks147 you know what’s crazy? Special teams and the defense bailed Grossman out many times. Kyle orton should’ve been starter in the SB.
MY FAVORITE BEARS QB REX GROSSMAN GO BEARS 🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡
I forgot how good their OL was during this season.
He was so under rated I wish my Raiders would’ve picked him up we would have a SuperBowl for sure
😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He was drafted 20 years ago..
Wtf
1:03 gator to gator, don’t forget about Alex Brown former gator and Bear.
Bears are the best team in the world 🐻
#DecadesWorthOfScoring!
One of the best to ever play for the Colts
The only Super Bowl in the rain. I think it affected Peyton too. The Bears couldn't stop the run that day with their NT out.
He only had like 28 touchdowns I though
Release the sex dragon
I was cheering for the Chicago Bears because P Manning is a Tennessee graduate and Rex Grossman played at THE University of Florida. Go Gators!!
Imagine if fields had WR like we did then . Fields can do way more then rex but we got no o-line and one receiver In 2022.. fields and Mooney carry the team
The Bears do have the same WRs
Them it was just guys that run fast
Definition of mid
Worst QB in Bears history Ortan > Grassman
No way. Not close if you go back to the 20th century ... pushing this century.
Orton is if you want the same old boring no playoff bound offenses
Orton would have lost the NFC championship game to Brees.
