Omg I remember this was the first roller coaster I went on, not the one at this park but it was very similar, the dragon looked more cartoony with only one to two baby teeth. Brings back memories, thanks :)
This right here is undoubtedly the roller coaster I have ridden the most times in my life, since we live near Canobie and it is a must-ride for my daughter. It was her first coaster and she says it's still her favorite, mostly for nostalgic reasons. It's actually not a bad ride, for a kiddie coaster--since they send you through twice, you get four of these descending helices per ride, which is more elements of note than many larger family coasters have. It's pretty smooth, and there's a palpable feeling of speed on the helices.
The first roller coaster I ever rode was one just like this, called Gold Mine Express at Schnepf Farms in Arizona. Scared the crap out of me, too (I was seven at the time).
My first coaster was one identical to this at Midway State Park in New York. I'm about to hit my 100th roller coaster, so while this ride may not seem like much, gotta remember where you came from
That's right, it used to be a Coney Island ride, around where the Thunderbolt is now. These Zamperla kiddie dragons are all over--many have an even smaller layout with just one helix.
...my mistake: it was at Deno's Wonder Wheel Park, where there is now a flat ride called the Thunder Bolt. The Zamperla Thunderbolt coaster is a little further down the beach at Luna Park.

Indoor powered coasters are, IMHO, fascinating... not only outdoor ones! :')
I loved that ride

Okay, I bet if I went on RCDB, there would be A LOT of entries for the name "Dragon Coaster"
I suspect there is :-)
What would you say the top speed on this thing is?
Statistics on these powered are hard to get hold of..I would guess at something around 25mph
Used to love this Coaster at PNE Playland in Vancouver.
The coaster you refer to is a similar model...this one has been at Canobie Lake for the past 27 years and was in Brooklyn, New York before that.

It's all Coney Island - I will forgive you getting it 100 yards wrong LOL
It looks so scary, does it have a loop? It looks way faster I’ve never been on a coaster before
It doesn't have a loop, no
I doubt id be screaming on that little coaster
Oh, hey, it's been fixed!
why - was it broken?
davidjellis All of 2016, it was defunct with the train in pieces.
Thanks for the information - this was my first visit to the park, so wasn't aware of that.
