@@CanobieCoaster it definitely is very smooth if you sit in the back row on the inside seats other than the bottom of the dive loop which feels like a wooden coaster
Do you have a video ranking the Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter's you've ridden? If not, maybe you could do that next. Infinity Coasters could be part of that if you wanted.
Great video! I've ridden Rage at Adventure Island in the UK which is the same model of Eurofighter as Untamed and your description of Untamed matches it perfectly. By the way, it's a heartline roll, not inline twist
seein this whole ride shake, wobble, crack and groan while waiting in line is just wild. you can see the loop structure sway nearly a foot on every pass. i cant imagine the fatigue that has on it. you can see this pretty good at 6:30 watch the loop
The first thing I noticed last year was the very neat birch bark supports. The rest of the ride beat me up pretty bad. Yankee Cannonball disappointed me as I never left my seat once and the ride op didn't let me choose a row after driving all the way from PA. Their corkscrew looks great and runs well!
Canobie really is a beautiful park. The Yankee Cannonball seating situation is annoying, especially if you're a single rider. I've had times where I get the back but have to move to pair up with another single rider.
I've never had any trouble with headbanging here--it's always felt quite smooth to me, and it's always a bit strange to hear people describe Untamed as rough. However, I have little trouble with headbanging on *most* coasters with OTSRs; they have to be epically bad (Drachen Fire bad) before it's really a problem for me, and I suspect it might be because of my height. This is my favorite coaster at Canobie; this is obviously a minority take but I prefer it to the Yankee Cannonball. I really like the vertical loop, not for forces but just for fun. I always loved that single-rider line but I guess it's not there any more. Is the first drop better than Superman's? No, I don't think it is. It was my first vertical lift/beyond-vertical drop too, though, and it's fun.
@@CanobieCoaster My theory is, the standard height that they design these things for so they won't be too small for a lot of people to fit into is basically a 5' 10", 5' 11" person, and that's me.
I wonder why some Gerstlauers ride rough, while others can be glossy smooth, like Monster. And it's so frustrating to see OTSR on some of these, when they would be much better rides with lap bars.
I’ve heard that this coaster is rough. I have one ride on this coaster, at scream fest last year. I did not find the ride rough at all, I got a back row ride in a full train, and I thought that the ride was glass smooth, I got no head banging at all.
I’ll echo what others have said about the back row being much smoother than the front. Rode it six times in a row last week and noticed a significant difference between front and back.
Canobie, my home park! I hate to say it, but my favorite ride after the Cannonball (underrated wooden coaster) was the psychodome and the old Matterhorn ride that went double speed forwards!
Canobie Coaster said: You then bank towards the ground and enter this 360 degree upward helix finale. The entrance into the finale has a really abrupt transition as you suddenly bank to the left, so it's another spot that can cause some jolty headbanging if you are not careful. Unfortunately, this helix doesn't really offer any forces or laterals, so it's a bit of a dull way to end the ride. And to be honest, I sort of wish Untamed didn't have this helix. Untamed is the 320+ model. The plus means that Untamed has a bonux helix at the end of the ride. Meanwhile, the 320 model like Adrenaline Peak at Oaks Park or Hydrus at Casino Pier, forgo that helix and just pop into the brake run. And I actually prefer that finale. It removes the abrupt transition into the helix and the pop into the brake run...

Also, judging on how bad the shakiness is on the Canobie Corkscrew from offride, I'm guessing the park doesn't take good care of their vintage Arrow corkscrew 🤕

Canobie Coaster would say: That's followed by the cutback. And this is without a doubt the worst element on the ride. You enter the cutback with quite a bit of speed and it's a pretty compact element, so you can really whack your head if you are not careful. It also doesn't help the train...
Great review - it looks like a fun ride!
It is!
id rank it similarly. i find that siting in the back row is significantly smoother than that of the front row. great review!
I've never found a difference front to back on Untamed myself.
@@CanobieCoaster i have on SAW
I only got one ride on Saw and I don't remember which row I had. I just remember it being shockingly smooth for an OSTR EuroFighter.
@@CanobieCoaster it definitely is very smooth if you sit in the back row on the inside seats other than the bottom of the dive loop which feels like a wooden coaster
The supports being painted as white paper birch trees is just so genius lmao... Great little ride
Absolutely beautiful.

I love that one a lot more!

I would probably do one for Gerstlauer as a whole since the Infinity and Eurofighters have a lot of similarities.
I love those birch supports.
Me too!

Aren't heartline rolls just inline twists that don't change elevation?
@@CanobieCoaster other way rownd
i went a couple weeks ago and the roughness was only noticeable on the corners and not so much the transitions when i rode it
I agree the edge seats can be a bit worse.

This model has quite a bit of sway. It is safe.
Really like the reviews of the lesser traveled coasters.
Thanks!

Once my ears started clearing OTSRs, it helped me with a lot of loopers.

I'm thankful the newer ones seem to have lap bars except Shellraiser had OSTRs for some reason.
I think Shellraiser has the OSTRs since it has a launch.
When is the Voyage review coming?
Sometime in the next month.
Got a rain ride today and it was butter-smooth. Also, the single-rider line is BACK!!
Nice!
You should review the other Untamed!
I plan to at some point!
I’m going to canobie on Saturday
Enjoy!
2:11 *JOLT*
Not the smoothest part on the ride. That's for sure.
I wonder why some Gerstlauers ride rough, while others can be glossy smooth, like Monster. And it's so frustrating to see OTSR on some of these, when they would be much better rides with lap bars.
The lap bars really help. Hydrus at Casino Pier tracks similarly to Untamed, but the fact you have nothing to hit your head against helps.
I’ve heard that this coaster is rough. I have one ride on this coaster, at scream fest last year. I did not find the ride rough at all, I got a back row ride in a full train, and I thought that the ride was glass smooth, I got no head banging at all.
If you ride defensively, the jolts can be avoided.
I love Eurofighters, the smaller ones are perfect for small parks
Agreed!
I’ve only been on Hydrus at Casino Pier which is the smaller mirrored clone of this with one less helix
I actually like that one better for the lap bars and pop into the brake run.
I’m so happy the single rider line is back this year cause now I can ride even if there is a a long line and not to many people ever use it
Glad it's back!
I’ll echo what others have said about the back row being much smoother than the front. Rode it six times in a row last week and noticed a significant difference between front and back.
Interesting. I find the cutback shaky in any row still unfortunately.
When do you think they'll get their next coaster?
Whenever they remove Corkscrew.
never lol

That old Matterhorn was amazing. Canobie literally ran it into the ground. The only one that I've ridden that matches it was one at Oktoberfest.

I wish it had lap bars.

Considering that ride was relocated twice, it runs better than you'd expect. I've been on rougher Arrows!
Yeah I’d take any beyond vertical drop over Superman the rides and WickCy’s drop no doubt
I'd take most. I wouldn't take some of the ones with a trim like Steel Hawg or Dare Devil Dive.
@@CanobieCoaster well Ive only experienced beyond vertical drops on intamins or gerstlauers
I think that a good coaster for canobie is prob a intamin blitz like maverick. I know it wont happen cause they are expensive but it would be cool

The rides ok the drop is really good it provides great airtime and the loop is good to
