- There's a reason only one of these rides was ever built! Today we're talking about what might be the craziest ride experience you can get on a roller coaster. Tornado operates with two settings: normal, and then boost mode. The normal version of this ride is pretty wild, but when you dial it up to boost mode? The ride gets INSANE!

I had to sit down for 20 minutes after Boost Mode. Was it too much? Yes. Did that make it one of the best coaster experiences of all time? Hell yes.
I had to sit down for 5-10 minutes after Mr. Freeze at Over Texas. That ride is nuts too
Mr.freeze is pretty nuts
Its not that bad Cuz i Tried it 10 times btw im form denmark
I was 6 times on this with boost mode xD
@@Drachenjunges_85 how are you still alive
That dude with the ponytail that operates the ride, is a legend. He even offered me a burger after the ride lmao
He lied to me! He offered us a free ride telling us it was going SLOWER than usual and needed maintenance when he put it in boost mode! absolutely insane. Love the dude
@@jordgubbe2895 he’s a cool dude 😎
Yeah his name is Kim and has been there for 33 years
@@marsguy2200 33 years?! Wow
My guy looks like Erling Haaland
The POV looks like how I imagine it feels to be tumbling inside a clothes washer while falling off the back of a semi truck that's rolling down a hill.
🤣🤪🙃Exactly🙃🤪🤣
Just think then u can go in the dryer on high
Perfect👍
omg… that sounds like my kind of ride❣️❣️❣️
Yes please! May I get a fast pass with that?
They unfortunately don't do boost mode anymore. Due to the amount of accidents around the world, they're no longer allowed to.
I was told this in August this year by the same operator that gave you guys your boost mode. They hope to be allowed again by next year
UPDATE: They do it again. For us, it was a late-night option when there's no queue
Hmm. That’s a shame. I do wonder if it’s a temporary or permanent thing
@@CoasterStudios likely temporarily
@@CoasterStudios likely temporary. But we wont know for sure yet. Like the showman that owns this ride knows that boost mode is something that draws attention and so they'll definitely try to look for ways they can get to operate it in boost mode for those who want it whenever things have settled down a bit.
@@CoasterStudios Yeah.. pretty unclear.
What accidents?
"Tornado looks too intense for me!"-Taylor 2022.
Holy literal crap I NEED to experience this. I wish their were more intense rides out there like this and this is one if the only insane experiences like this ever. It's the only one, I NEED to ride it before I die. Intensity on a spinning coaster actually is the best thing ever dude.
Ive never done this coaster, didnt even know it existed. But for me Eejanaika is the most insane coaster Ive ridden. I think coasters like that, the one in this video and Ride to Happiness are the future, insane but so much fun.
This looks like a top 10 roller coaster in my opinion
The more g force the better
@@aliceheatherlogan Absolutely.
Come to Hersheypark and ride Skyrush that rollercoaster is intense and goes 75 miles per hour the whole ride come visit PA!! It doesn't spin but its intense and be sure to ride the very back row because that row is the fastest seat on the whole train and ride on the end cause you will feel the intensity more!!
It probably felt faster than it actually is because the layout is so compact. This thing seems to pack a LOT of track in a tiny space, more-so than even Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain.
Yeah, but Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain is WAY more extreme! That's why they have all that netting surrounding the car...
"boost mode" is just such a great idea for coasters, allowing hardcore enthusiasts to enjoy untrimmed+uncapped experience.
Imagine if we had that on other major coasters, potentially tuning down the experience for the GP!
Goliath at six flags magic mountain anyone?
They need to do a boost mode for intimidator 305. I'm a hardcore enthusiast and have been on a lot of them around the world but the initial untrimmed version.... Oooo boy !!!
The mack extreme spinners need a boost mode 😂
You’re just out here trying to get theme parks sued🤣
The Mack multi launches need a boost mode
You’d probably die lmaoooo
Omg can you imagine
@@jakeinoside hydraulic launches and boost mode should do 💀😂
Sucks that they aren’t likely to replicate this elsewhere. Serious thrill seekers are salivating at the thought of this.
One was built in China this year.
“The only intamin spinning coaster ever built” ohhhh so that’s why all the other spinning coasters I’ve ridden don’t have this option 😂😂
I'm dizzy just from watching the POVs in this video. It's like I'm blacking out with them :D Now, whether or not Intamin wanted this to happen, Idk xD All I do know is, Intamin is bonkers nuts for this ride.
Well, sort of - AFAIK, Ride to Happiness _also_ has its spin inhibitor magnet disabled nowadays (just like boost mode here), but presumably it's because of differences in the rest of the design that that doesn't lead to as intense an experience as on this one.
Of course it isn't the only Intamin spinning coaster ever built.
One of the best rides of my life was at Mall of America on 'Fairly Odd Coaster', the park's SFF Gerstlauer spinner. There were two of us and ride op put us both on one side. The result was almost indescribable. I was convinced the bearing shaft was going to shear off. The ride op apologized on our way into the station saying that he screwed up, he was supposed to have us sit on opposite sides. I wanted to hug him.
Wouldn’t this be the first extreme spinning coaster?
Nah its just budget that works lol
MACK Rides xtreme spinning coasters can't compare to what Intamin did here :D Even in normal mode, it's even more wild that those things.
I hope Intamin tries again with a spinning coaster and they try their version of an Xtreme spinner
Extreme spinning coaster isn't like a generic genre of coaster it's a name given to a specific Mack model, so no.
@@Lemonaidz7 reminds me of Tony hawks big spin that’s been renamed like 3 times now lol
I love spinning coasters, but they never spinning enough.... so I would love to try boost mode.
Just wanna say you create some really good content sir...interesting and well produced..you can see the hardwork you put into this channel...so you deserve some major credit..
Thank you so much!
Honestly I fully agree with you, the POV doesn’t do the justice of boost mode!!! I knew the ride was going to be crazy but boost mode is something else! When you hit the final brakes, your vision is blurry, your in quite a bit of pain, and it feels as though your head is unattached from your body!!! Totally recommend but you need to brace for it.
If you're a big flat ride enthusiast like myself boost mode is a must do. Because the sensation is more similar to that than a rollercoaster
I live in Denmark and go to bakken all the time and I have tried it in boost mode so many times and sometimes it’s just painful and sometimes it’s the best experience ever it really depends on where you sit and how fast the operator can spin you
at 0:49 it looks like Sarah gets vaporized by the ride 😭😭😭
Even the video made me dizzy 😵 , couldn’t imagine riding it for real!
I haven't ever I'm my life, heard Coaster Studios say "that ride is to much". I never heard any enthusiast say a ride is to much. And you were in a car crash a couple months ago so you know whats thats like, If this mix of Eejanika and I305 is actually that crazy, im freaking moving here.
"to" or "too"?
@@detroitdiezel7856 probably too. Autocorrect can be a troublesome thing to work with
@@detroitdiezel7856 Yeah! Get them for missing an "o" when you have a sentence fragment. GRAMMAR ABOVE ALL.
Boost mode It’s the I305 of Denmark
The normal mode is the I305 of Europe, the boost mode is probably the original I305
@@michaelneichel9543 the original I 305 was so so good and so intense
im getting a headache just watching this.
I’d love to experience this. From your video it looks like you could rate it an F5!🤪
Boost mode would be spin heaven for me. I love spinning as fast as I can on teacup rides but this would be almost too much for me (and maybe too much to the point that my parents would keep throwing up all day). Still, I have to get on this ride to feel what Taylor is talking about.
This looks like the most fun thing ever I need to try this one day!
XD
ive been to bakken more times thqn i can count. and he nails every issue i have with this coaster. too fast. injuries and headaches. and just yesterday i rode it again for a third time, what happens? I slam my thigh against the edge of my seat. and now my leg hurts like hell: tltr: tornados turns are way to tight for the speed it is going in.
I couldn't ride this. I got dizzy just watching the video! I'd watch it from the ground though. I'm sure that would be highly amusing.
5:22 accurately depicts what your girlfriend thought... her face explained it better than the video :D
I’d puke! It does look like a lot of fun in my younger years 😮😮😮
This made me dizzy watching the video. Idk if I could do the ride. …….
Boost mode seems like something you would usually have to slip some green to the ride op to get
It is faster than 32 mph because the G's you're experiencing with the spin mode is probably equivalent to high speed
Tornado is I-N-S-A-N-E, it would never fly in America unfortunately. Also lol at homegirl at the end of the ride. She looked like she had a rough time. I wish this was the new coaster at Cedar Point instead of Psycho Mouse.
@Jason Frawley 🤣🤣🤣 Did you get your 12th booster?
This would be my nightmare. I can't stand spinning rides. I would be spewing the whole time.
your brain keeps moving after your done, tip when you try to sit down have a friend with you otherwise you'll just fall down like a drunk person trying to stand straight
I’m just looking at this and I’m getting dizzy and feeling sick. No thank you.
Gonna convince my Family to go to Bakken (we live in Sweden), and then when me, my brother and my sister is on I'm gonna ask for boost mode
Sitting across from a stranger? Put on your best “about to puke” face and watch the horror in their eyes.
Imagine Universal Studios rebuilt Twister like this but not as compact like this
Do they have additional breaks mode? Asking for a friend
I’ll pass I get enough spinning from vertigo. I don’t need the coster to make me sick.
5:27 that shot is insane, it's moving at comical speeds even into the brakes
The pov gave me a headache and turned my stomach. So I'll pass on the spinning.
that would make me puke lol especially boost mode would cause me to projectile vomit no thanks .
the only coaster in the world that makes you feel sorry for those visitors you tortured in rollercoaster tycoon
lol
Fun fact: This amusement park was built in the 1500s
I've watched a lot of people do reviews of this and the pure JOY on everyone's face has me watching the videos a few times. I like that we get to see things we would never get to go experience for ourselves that makes these videos so fun to watch.
Bakken actually isn't too far from me but let me just say, that does NOT look enjoyable. And I loved Eejanaika! I didn't think too much of that coaster to be honest, I didn't find it anywhere near "too much". But Tornado? I don't know that I would get on that even in the normal operation mode
What on earth. I rode this thing years ago when it first opened and couldn't believe how intense it was. Honestly I hated it and had neck pain for days afterwards. We were there on a totally empty day and I remember being surprised the dude started spinning us out of the station. Now I realise it must have been boost mode.
It’s making me dizzy 😵💫 just watching you ride it lol but it still looks fun as hell especially boost mode lol 😂
Thankfully I live in Denmark close to Bakken, so I come fairly often, but I’ve still only been able to experience it twice. Still it’s my favourite ride in the entire theme park. I don’t remember if I have tried it in boost mode, but I did on second try, feel like it went a lot faster than the first, but I doubt they’d make you experience it unless you specifically request it. Still, I absolutely love it
Intamin is just absolutely nuts for building this thing
I rode this thing when I was like 6 years old. Me and my dad looked at a POV and it did not look too scary. After it I actually felt like my heart had stopped. I sat down in ten minutes!
i have riden that and i think why 15 and under dosent like it is that at the end and dhen you get allot of pain
Next time ask for boost mode without the pre-spin. The ride op won’t spin the car, but the lift will be accelerated and the trims will be off. It’s the most fun that way.
i love it but it hurts when your head bounce around😂😂😢
This Erling Haaland Dude gave you a really good spin
Very nicely put together video and very entertaining as well. Thanks for posting this.
I am dizzy just watching these clips.
We have a version of the tornado at 6 flags over Texas. It's called pandemonium and it's automatically always and only in boost mode and it spins 4 times extremely downhill and extremely uphill and every which way. I can't get enough of it. I'm an extreme thrill junkie. Ours is really smooth and yes I always keep my head back and I don't have any injuries while riding it or after.
yes omg i love that ride sm
I was going to say the same thing, it looks just like Pandemonium..it's a fun ride!
@@RollerCoasterHunter I love to ride it over and over again. I am immune to motion sickness. I feel better, the faster and the more spinning the rides go. My brain reacts to rides like they're a drug. Well, endophine is a natural high. I get the same feeling after a hard workout or a long bike ride or a jog. 😁
"the neckbreaker" - a local dane
for real
Looks like a puke fest waiting to happen😝
It’s funny that this spins more than a tornado
I can see the parody of this already...
The craziest spinning I've ever experienced was on Dwervelwind with both of us sitting on the same side and nobody on the other, while hitting the corner perfectly. The spinning was so crazy, that I didn't comprehended a thing. My vision was blured and the head was pulled outward with quit a force.
See, this is what I've wanted for ages.
I've ridden Dwervelwind so many times but only a handfull of times were actually good spinning experiences.
Most of the times I ride that I don't even make one full circle, which is just kind of disappointing.
The ride itself is still really nice though, thankfull for on-ride music.
@@pikariocraftf2802 We were super lucky! It was our first day at the Toverland and our second ride on Dwervelwind. The first one was a little bit underwhelming, as the onride soundtrack didn't work that day and we didn't spin much. But the second ride was out of this world, even tho the sound didn't work neither.
Tornado is one of the coasters, like I305, Do-Dodonpan and Eejanika where you should never even dare, to bring someone on it, for whom it is the first experience on a roller coaster. You should NEVER dare to it, because otherwise, you could honestly harm their first ride experience on a roller coaster forever.
i learned this the hard way on i305 my cosuin hasnt ridden a coaster since she wanted to ride it and tried to chicken out while in line i said it was like MF at CP that backfired
So i just rode it today, twice. And referring to Boost Mode, early in the Season like rn (End of March) they JUST run it on Boost mode bc of the Cold weather. (Thats what the Ride Op told me after asking for it before my first Ride)
Yall were losing your minds on this one 😂
I rode it this year but i missed my chance to experience boost mode, i didnt even know that it was a thing! Edit: When will you go to Liseberg again? In 2023 when the new coaster comes?
We don’t have any plans to go to Liseberg at the moment
I rode this with my friend and I have NEVER screamed so much my entire life!!!! IT WAS CRAZY, I rode it two times
Made my neck hurt watching
Intamin Spinning Coaster 1 looks too intense for me.
Haha, I got a headache from the POV video and description of it bashing your head around😵 I'm a bit of a coaster wimp, and the new Zambezi Zinger at Worlds Of Fun in Kansas City recently left me feeling like I'd been in a car wreck, sounds like I felt how this ride made you feel!
Many yrs ago a friend bought a roller coaster game, he let me design one. The one I built was similar to this coaster. The difference was I had bigger drops and more of them and I had used a teacup as the car. I wish I was able to ride this!
Absolutely no way I could do the spinning coaster without getting really sick. I’ll pass. 🤣
Cry
No, it actually looks insane.
I went on this with no idea what it was except looking like a cool little ride, just to get out of it all dizzy and realizing what happend! My friend that didn't dare was so surprised that I came back so fast. I definitely wanna go on this ride again as it is so memorable.
I don't like spinning, but I love pushing my limits on a ride...but...this might just be too much. It looks SO insane.
I am so curious about it, haha. I once ended up in a gertslauer spinning coaster with 2 kids sitting across from me and my girlfriend next to me. I'm on the heavier side of things so when we got into a proper whip we just kept on spinning like mad. Honestly, it was a bit terrifying for me. But I could see the heaps of fear in the eyes of the kids. Memorable ride? For sure! Would I want to spin that fast on a spinning coaster again? No. Would I want to make an excuse for Tornado boost mode? Probably.
I wonder if you could ask them to put it on boost mode without swinging you out of the station. Could be really cool as well.
Edit: Well that curiosity only lasted about 6 months. Start of the season happened last week and I was there for opening day. We were the first ones on Tornado. Just before departing the station I asked the ride op; It's not on boost mode is it? "Yeah it is, it has to be cause the ride is still cold". Made 100% sense when he said it. It's bonkers.
They have stopped doing boost mode in August (this may be temporary) but yes sometimes they just won’t spin it out of the station but it won’t make the biggest difference other than in the drop
The out of control intensity is similar to when you get a zipper gondola realllly going.
I hadn’t heard of this coaster before but now I really want to go there and ride it in boost mode
Hahah, I'd probably puke out a tornado on everything and everyone around me. Be hard to clean up... Count me out!
I get motion sick just watching it
that first drop looks absolutely insane
lol, just going up the lift boosted, I can tell that's TOO MUCH. Congrats for surviving, but at what cost, right?
Reminds me of being in the car wreck in 2013......( I wasn't driving, i was in the back....busted out the window i was right next to..... watching this video feels like that....i don't we rolled over.....but if we did we ended back up on all 4 wheels! Also the gas tank got ripped out of the undercarriage....I'll never forget running out in the ditch to find It like 6 feet from the car.....) * Crap i hope my PTSD don't get triggered now!!! Why dose the fun stuff gotta be ruined by my PTSD.....i wanna watch SpongeBob and random roller coaster videos without worrying about if my mind is gonna trip out!!!**** Sorry rant over....
The roller coaster looks like what my car wreck felt like....
My experience in boost mode was even more messed up because I did not know about it either - nor did I request it. I went on it with my friend (we're both Danish) and we had fun in regular mode. The guy then offered us another ride (we paid per ride) because he said the ride needed maintenance - it was apparently going 'slower than usual' and he wanted us to tell him how it was going.
Boost mode would probably make me puke! I remember riding whirlwind @ seabreeze back in July and one of my rides on it I was so dizzy and nauseous when I came off the ride because it spun around so much.
Should be renamed the "Throw up coaster". Don't Drink, Eat before attempting.
🤢🤮
Just so you know I’m a local and it’s normal speed is not 32mph it’s 32kmh. And boost mood is the fastest it can go and that’s 70kmh. And the reason why it feels so fast it’s because it produces 3.2 g-forces
Comet Express at Lotte World, Seoul, is also an Intamin spinning coaster. It’s not like Tornado, though…it’s more like an indoor space-themed spinning mine train. Still fun, nonetheless.
Yeah I believe they call that a twist n shout model? Either way that was a very short lived model in the 90's and not like most spinning coasters today. I mean Tornado also ain't like most spinning coasters but it still resembles an average one to an extent.
Can't you just close your eyes to prevent the blurred vision? And how does this compare to astronaut/pilot training?
This is my local park:) the ride is a lot more enjoyable on boost mode if you push your head back! Actually I would say that you need to push your head back do to the insanity of the first drop:)
How many G’s does this lunatic ride pulls? When in boost mode vs normal mode? I know that the Starship aka gravitron pulls 3G’s.
A very visually pleasing video, could clearly see the video of you in normal mode with the blue shirt, the beast mode was distracted by something
I’m just trying to figure out how to get a plane to ride in to Denmark, country my ancestors are from! Like I’d ride it in boost mode if the USA lets me get a passport and actually get to the ride! 😂😅🙄😳
I tried this coaster a few years ago, but I remember it being the only ride where it actually felt like my brain was gonna explode, even just on normal mode. Like that is literally illegal for something to be that crazy in the most random of places.
I'm literally watching this with the biggest smile on my face definitely got to head over the Bakken just to try Boost mode!!! thank you for the heads up!! 😂😂👌
