  • After following up with the construction of the Rocky Mountain Construction retrack for months, I return to Fun Spot America Kissimmee to my first rides on this roller coaster. I rode a total of 10 times to get a good feel of the ride. I also speak with Dan from ‪@MidwayMayhemChannel‬ about his thoughts on the ride. Has Mine Blower improved or was this a big waste of time? Find out my thoughts on this final update of the retrack!

    This was a rush repair. They needed it open for the summer. RMC didn't even paint the track, just shipped it. I highly suspect that more work will be done next year.

      Definitely feels more like a quick Band-Aid than an actual fix. While it IS a vast improvement, I hope they continue to do more work on it.

      it did feel like a rush repair.. but i will mention that this r08 track treatments don't always get painted.

      I was there today and the operator mentioned more retracking is coming in January 2024.

    I would have rather they redone the whole thing with the improved precut Gravity Group track.. or even GCI retrack.. both are excellent choices and never have bad transitions like you mention.. maybe this lasts longer.. but they gotta address the transitions lol

      Agreed. But I think they went with RMC due to their previous project in Atlanta. I would’ve loved to see gravity group with their pre cut track on Mine Blower.

    I rode it 18 times last October and I thought something was wrong inside me for the next week. I will probably enjoy it alot more now.

      It’s definitely a lot more bearable to ride. The transitions from wood to steel is still janky but overall the ride a lot more enjoyable.

    They just need to retrack the whole entire ride

      Maybe they will do more work in the near future. This was more of an emergency maintenance, fixing the super rough spots first.

    Awesome review, glad to hear how much it improved. I know GG has their enhanced wooden track, I wonder if they went with RMC for those specific turns so it could be done quickly, and then will keep the rest wood and redo it with the GG enhanced track once peak months are over this year.
    Either way, can't wait to check it out and not have my teeth rattled out.

      Thank you! I think they went with RMC because of their current collab at the Atlanta park. The way Mineblower quickly closed and then opened 2 months later, it makes me think this was a more of an emergency maintenance than an actual fix. The areas they replaced absolutely needed work, so I’m glad they at least did that.

    Great video!!
    This is so interesting because there are so many things to think about. Would the Gravity Group track system have been a better choice or no since this GG got so rough so fast ??(climate...maintenance..etc..).
    Would Titan Track have done anything different?? All things to think about. It seems like Funspot wanted this back open ASAP and I don't think GCI or GG would have done the work that abruptly/quickly but maybe I'm wrong🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
    Should be interesting to see if they complete the layout in the future.

      I think it’s because of their relationship with RMC, they managed to get this done so quickly. This was probably already in the pipeline when they were building Arie Force One.

    I wonder why they just didn't do the entire ride, but maybe more to be done later. I can't imagine the overall cost is too much for this.

      It definitely feels more like a quick fix then a true refurbishment. Those areas that was replaced really needed help. Let’s hope that there will be a full refurbishment down the line.

  • @oneandonlysound3453
    @oneandonlysound3453 Год назад +3

    I hope they don't just shove on the RMC track on the entire ride. There's no reason why they can't long-term plan to replace sections without basically making it a steel coaster. That whole area doesn't even any other wooden roller coasters besides White Lightning, I don't mind them fixing real trouble spots like that first airtime hill after the inversion was the roughest part and they fixed it. But I feel like pre-built Gravity Group or titan track would've been a better. I do wonder though if there relationship with GG is crap after having used outside contractors, rushed the original construction, and they acted like they were going to keep working with them only for it to never happen and eventually jump on RMC.
    At least it isn't just sitting there rotting being hyped up by people 10+years past any prime when it needs a much bigger makeover like El Toro.

    • @CoastersTravels
      @CoastersTravels  Год назад +1

      Lots of good points. I wish they would’ve went with gravity group contractors in the first place because it’s crazy that white lightning, which is an older coaster, is still running great. To be honest, I would have praise this retrack IF that transition on the first turnaround was much smoother. It’s so jerky, it almost feels like before they retracked it. The rest of the retracking was done well. We will just have to see what will fun spot do with this ride in the near future.

    I’ve never been able to ride this one more than once in a day. Does it still have that strong vibration throughout the ride after the corkscrew? That’s what always ruined it for me.

    Looks like it has the same issue as before, fun spot rushed it, leading to a rough experience, pretty sad honesty, other rides featuring the 208 track havent had these issues

    • @CoastersTravels
      @CoastersTravels  Год назад +2

      It’s just that transition on the first turn around when you go from wood to steel back to wood. It’s not smooth at all. It still retains that jitteriness from before it was retracked. The other retracked parts of the ride does not have those issues. Had that first transition been smoothed out, I would praise this ride a lot higher.
