  • A visually beautiful, immersive, heart pounding Axolotl hunt. A never-before-seen experience on RUclips. Listen as the music tells you the story of Atlas and Jasper, two juvenile Axolotl's who hunt together for the first time.
    For business inquiries, fan art and collaborations please email TikiTeemo@gmail.com
    From serene aquascapes to intense battles, this story will move you like never before.
    This is the first Cinematic Axolotl Experience on RUclips, and is my first time attempting a video like this. If you enjoyed it, please let me know in the comments.
    The culmination of 20 hours of footage and 60 hours of editing was a massive learning experience for me, and I look forward to trying another one of these soon :)

      Wasn't my idea, I had it as "A Cinematic Axolotl Experience", and then all the youtube experts yelled at me, and came up with that title. It's not inaccurate though. They are violent, and they are alpha predators in the wild... even though they are basically extinct in the wild. Check the worm battle scene, these lizards are brutal lol

    • @TaylorShawn
      @TaylorShawn  2 года назад +1

      yeah mine go up to the surface every 10 mins or so for a big gulp, thats also how they maintain neutral buoyancy. If they get too much air, the butt starts to float so they burp out the excess air. Such weird, weird little things.

    is it eating it or just sucking its blood or something?

    • @TaylorShawn
      @TaylorShawn  2 года назад

      Basically they eat by doing a death shake and trying to tear things into bite sized chunks. They eat the entire worm, or pellet, whatever they get that day. Unfortunately, it's kind of dumb. The death shake does absolutely nothing to a worm lol, so it's a futile effort. Still melts me either way.

      Yeah I feel you. The opening scene is way too long in my opinion, but I really couldn't find another way of conveying how they function. I wanted people to see what they were like pre-hunt, which is basically them doing nothing as usual, but then they get restless all of a sudden and the hunt is on.

  • @Johanlob1
    @Johanlob1 2 года назад +2

    Extremely uneventful, nice shots though

    • @TaylorShawn
      @TaylorShawn  2 года назад +2

      hey Johan, glad you brought this up. I'm new to creating a story driven cinematic, so there are some things I would do differently when i do another one. The main prizes in this was the epic worm battle, and the brother sneaking around trying to get to the little guy. One piece of footage i haven't managed to capture yet is when the little one is eating and the big one sees him, the big one sneaks over in his blind spots, sticks his head under the little one, and flips him backwards, and then eats.
      So the "Danger approaches" subs was about that. And sure enough, he got booted out of there,
      The goal was to test my skill levels, to see how my photography learning was coming, and how my editing is coming back to me after many months of covid complications. The secondary goal of that video was to pull people in, and have them trasfixed at what was going on. Sure there's a story to tell, but it was the little nuance pieces in there that i really enjoyed.
      gotta remember 20 hours of filming, 60 hours of editing, and thats what this video was.
      Feedback is of critical importance to me. There's no guides to follow, noone to tell you what to do. Im doing all of this on my own, and right now I would be very grateful for detailed feedback. If you would be so kind

    • @TaylorShawn
      @TaylorShawn  2 года назад +3

      Do you? Axolotl's are the top of the food chain in their native environment. The only thing that eats them is the humans that live there. That's the literal definition of an alpha predator.
