I use to collect newts, quite the collection!!! I like how you tapped up the tops of the tanks with tape so they cant escape!!!! I once lost some danubes due to that!!
i have 4 marbled and 2 rough skinned in 1 tank . any suggestions on improving my tank for them they generally stay on land and hate the water . i would like them to go on both.
I would definitely separate them into species specific enclosures. Taricha in particular are extremely toxic and it’ll make it easier to identify their needs anyhow. Marbleds tend to avoid the water if there are water parameter issues so I’d suggest testing water quality. They can also do this if kept too warm or are just getting lots of food on land. Usually mine will return to water if I meet those criteria. The Taricha spend half or more of the year terrestrial so that’s normal behavior for them, but if they seem to do this long term it’s portable they aren’t getting cold enough in the winter. I move mine to the garage for the winter and let them get down to the 50s and once they hit those temps for several weeks they usually stay in the water till late spring.
What an amazing collection. I love seeing these tours. Thanks for sharing.
beautiful creatures

I keep 2 Chinese Fire Bellied Newts in The Nutist Colony. They love eating their communal Endler fish, when they manage a catch.
Awesome tips! First time for me and my blue tail’s laying eggs. The fungus seems to always be present! Great video!
Thank you! I definitely recommend methylene blue to combat it. Also alder cones and other tannin producing botanicals can be helpful.
Thanks!

For sure separate tanks. Even though they get along one species will die off completely.
