Great upload Chopsie, I really enjoyed this project. 10 hours to get it back together? I now know there is at least 2 of us! 😂
Finally! 😉
Started watching this project at the beginning of the pandemic. Was thinking that the poor little girl had perished from COVID, but she's back! Hoorah!
Yeah it's really quite amazing actually see it finally go back together. Getting rid of all the boxes it brilliant too! Its like therapy 🤣👍
I feel your pain that 5-minute job is never a 5-minute job but it's worth the effort ! She looks great 👍🏻
Yeah I knew it would take ages.. It will be well worth it though. Thanks 👍
Look forward to the first ride in 2025 😂.
Jokes aside, please keep this content going. Really enjoy your projects.
Hehe thanks Chris 😁👍
Great work so far John - inspiring to see a craftsman at work! (Well…it’s all relative isn’t it!!) 🤓
Haha thanks Andy, I think.. 😁👍
Hypermotard going back together with the Chopsie treatment. Liked straight away before even watching. Nice to see you taking it slow and doing a job that bike deserves.
Thanks Steve 👍
Good to see this project is alive again, working on Ducatis is therapy😊
Please tell me that you are going to invest in a red touch up paint stick to fix the big scratch on the head stock and all the other little chips 🙏 I assure you it will make a difference to the end product. Looking forward to your next video 👍
OK just for you 😁👍
Oh it's looking tasty Chopsy nothing worse than forgetting stuff and getting motivated to clean up tatty parts or deciding to renew them, Where's Mavis when you need her??? can't wait to see the Hel brakes install. That H1/2 is going to be a restoration challenge 💸💸💸
Bolt it all to a coffee table and call it quits. The most glorious coffee, cappuccino machine ever!
Haha not a bad idea Andrew!
been checking everyday for this build nice to see it back on again. awesome job
Thanks Frogman! 👍
Whatever happened to Mavis..? I Never thought I'd miss her dulcet tones and her perfectly timed quips.. 😂
Fantastic to have the Hyper back. 🙂
Taking your time and being fully happy with all the parts will be rewarded at the finish.
Look forward to seeing the Ducati return from hibernation. 👍🏍️❤️
I know that this project has been a bit of a mission for you Chops, but that machine is going to look absolutely sick (beg the pun ) when completed.
Can't wait to see what the finished product is going to look like. Awesome going mate 😊👏👏👏👏
Thanks Dean, yeah it's really taking shape now! Hopefully won't actually be too much longer now 🙏
Awesome looking good Chopsey!! ❤
Still much quicker than my KTM dealer and much more reliable ❤❤
Love a build series!!
Good luck Chops, can't wait to see it up & running. Hope it's done in time to enjoy for the summer!
Beautiful mate. Nice bit of a kit!
Great work buddy. Nice watch with a cup of tea on a Saturday morning🍵👍🏼
Making a start is the hardest part! Well done mate. Enjoyable vid...
Good to see you on the Hypermotard in early 2025. 😜
Think these builds are my favourite 😻
Slow and steady wins the race chops, keep chipping away at it. 👍🤘
Great watch ,
Fantastic John, thoroughly enjoyed that 👍
Thanks Brian 😁👍
Great positive rebuild start Chopsy…keep going 👍💪👌
Thanks Jason, I'm in the zone now so shouldn't be too much longer 😁👍
Looking forward to this beast going back together
Great vid as always Mr chops 👍
Thanks Michael 😁👍
Very interesting!! Good work John! 👍🏍🏍👍
Thanks John 😁 👍
Can't wait to see this up and running, just keep chipping away!
Looking forward to seeing this one finished! I do love a hypermotard! Great work bud
Thanks buddy 👍
You can straighten out the fins on the oil cooler with a small screwdriver blade to allow the air to flow through the oil cooler.
Yes I've done that as much as possible 👍
Good luck Chopsy....I have faith in you. 9.30 side stand switch 👍
Finally 😁 after all the teasers on instagram 👍🏼😁 looking good chops
Thanks Wils 👍👍
Loving these videos chops 🤟 carnt wait to see the ducati back on the road dude 😎
Thanks buddy! Hopefully shouldn't be too much longer now 👍
Really enjoyed this
Choppsy! Looking forward to seeing the garage series of this come together. Good look working out where it all goes!
Thanks Wats 👍
Nice work Chopsy. Slow and methodical every time.
You will do fine on the reassembly taking your time and have a bike to be proud of , Thanks Chopsy
Thanks buddy 👍
As with every great journey you have to take the first steps ,, that's going to be one amazing motorcycle 🏍️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland,, took a while,, but heh 😊
Thanks Cecil 👍
Loving the new man cave workshop.......LCR!
Thanks Iain! 👍👍
i wouldnt call it a labour of love..id call it a mistake!!! still nice to watch!
Not being an adventure bike fan I'm glad we're back to some winter garage fettling.........chops more of this please
Good stuff glad you enjoy these, oh yes certainly more to come soon 😁👍
Ace to see progress John 🙂
Thanks Peter 👍👍
Can't wait to see the bike back together chopsy
Thanks Micheal me too! 😁👍
Sunny morning here in llanelli hypermotard started cracking bikes in the back
bloody marvellous :)
Thanks Tony 👍
Slow and steady mate. My restoration of a CR125 is nearly 3 years in the making now. Finding it hard to get discontinued parts
Yeah thankfully the parts are still available 🙏 nightmare if they weren't
I'm always here to watch your vídeos, give you a like and support your channel.... but I must admit.... I'm waiting for the ZXR 750 videos like a kid waiting for Christmas
You wouldn't believe the influence that the 1st video you put out of the ZXR has had on my life.... anyways
Cheers
Haha thanks Filipe much appreciated buddy 👍 Yes ZXR will follow after this one, but being honest it's probably going to be the Autumn as the garage fills up during the summer months with loan machines. But it certainly is coming!
Happy to see this update chopsy, scary to think that your early hyper videos re-ignited my want for a hypermotard but with the 1100's being pretty much unobtainable here in thailand unless your willing to spend stupid money I ended up buying an 821.. its been my pride an joy since and I've literally spent thousands upgrading/modding it, I've done a whole series on my channel over the last couple of years of modding my 821 and here you are just getting back to rebuilding yours.. I'm blaming you for my hyper fetish and I'm sure my wife will thank you for the thousands I've spent... cant wait to see this beast of yours finished and I'm only a little bit jealous because I cant get an 1100....
Oh wow that's brilliant! You don't see many on the road here either, but they are around secondhand. Actually think I've only seen two on the road before 🤔
Love a bit of Cerakote. I mix up my own colours. Just to be unique
Been missing the garage build stuff so good to see it back. It’s better to be different to every other road tester/RUclipsr.
Thanks Stephen, yeah nice to be able to offer something different 👍
Coming along nice and steady 👍 no rush summer is a while away yet 😂
Haha cheers buddy, ball is rolling now so think it's actually not going to be too much longer 😁👍
Looking good matey, but what a puzzle!😂😂
At least by the time you finish you should be able to put it on vintage plates.😂 Love this series, it’s certainly a big undertaking, can’t wait to see the finished bike.
Great video you can see if you was using a motorcycle shop or bike builders do that job you can see where you have saved a lot of money great if you’ve got the confidence to do it yourself let’s hope the rebuild goes all to plan and see you out on a ride video best of luck good work 👍
Thanks Nicolas 😁👍
Well done Mr chops maybe on that frame and bits you rubbed down AFC50
Yeah good idea 👍
Yes the Hyper rebuild begins! I laughed out loud when you said 10hrs to rebuild it. You sure those head race bearings are fully seated as I didn't hear a change in sound that they usually make? Anyway great content, looking forward to the ZXR build in 2028--2031 lol
Yeah they are right up against the shoulder. I will double check before I chuck it together, got me second guessing now 😄👍
If it's anything like my rebuilds, I find the small parts after the new ones have turned up. :)
All the best with it and looking forward to the rest of the series.
Yes I know absolutely that's going to happen! 😄👍
Send in the frame. When it is done and everything is nice, you will focus on the ugly parts right away and it will mess up everything. After you have mounted everything, you can not do anything about it but to tear it aprta again. It is not that much work, just make sure you do not blaster over the framenumber. I really think you will regret not fixing the main frame. I have done this exact project myself with an SP so i really know about regrets when it comes to fixing things with the engine and the mainframe. When they are out, just deal with it
I feel your pain Chopsy. The trouble with putting old gear on refurbished stuff is that it makes the new stuff look manky. Really enjoyed the series and looking forward to the mighty zrx 😄😄
Haha absolutely 😄👍
You make it look so easy Chops. I’d be pulling my hair out!
Great video Chops, so looking forward to seeing it go back together, I did like how you kept saying it's been 2.5 years since it's been apart, well 😂😂 I hate to remind you but you took it apart from April 2020 😂😂😂, so best part of 4 years, but who's counting, it's like a fine wine, gets better with age 😂.
Keep up the great work.
Oh dam you are right haha 🤣👍
@@LambChopRides it was right at the start of covid, but who's counting any way 😂😂, she is going to look mighty fine when finished 👍
Keep going Chopsy soon be finished and back on the rear wheel!! 🤣🤣👍🏍
Thanks buddy! Won't be too long now... hopefully 😄👍
Looking forward to next video chopsey , I couldn’t help noticing you-v-e still got the end can off s1000rr on your wall, I’m interested in buying if you’re selling cheers mick.
It's supposed to go back to Prorace Mick they just haven't asked yet. It's handy for chucking on the RR engined machines when I borrow them, will look good on the M1000XR when I get my hands on one 😎😎🤤
@@LambChopRides the xr is points for prizes kinda bike watch your license chopsey.
You might not see the chips mate, but you'll know they're there. 😂 Glad it's getting put back together. Really enjoyed the whole process.
Haha true, 😄👍
Really enjoy these garage time vids, it’s like catnip for motorbike lovers (although I’m a dog person)
Haha thanks 😁👍
Love these garage builds 👍 but not quite the same without Mavis 😁
You think I should turn her sass level back up? 🤪
Beautiful stuff, chops. Can’t wait to see this all done. I note your zxr in the background, next on the ramp is it? I’m doing my ZXR-H2 at the moment as well. Last time I built one was for endurance legends at Donington park. Keep ‘em comin. 👍👍
Thanks buddy, yeah ZXR is certainly next but it will probably be an autumn project to keep me busy over the Winter. Could be sooner but that's my feeling.. Get yours done then you can help me with mine 😁👍
@@LambChopRides of course, be glad to help. I’m pretty familiar with them, I’ve done a few now. Just shout if you need any steerage. 👍👍
I dread to think how hard the wiring would be on an italian bike. Everything else is nuts and bolts! Cant wait to see it finished. When are we going to see the zxr next?
Thanks Adam! Yes ZXR next once this is completed 🙌
Excellent stuff. Where is Mavis though…..
Getting there now chopsy , feels a bit overwhelming I bet just now ? Just take your time good footage to watch 👍 And be a beauty once done well worth the hassle mate . 😁 👍
Thanks Wattie 👍 yeah once I started knew I would bang it out 😄👍
Hi chopsey whats hapend to mavis no abuse when your working on the bikes.
Lovely L twin again makes me want to buy another one.
Ive done a few bikes up apart from nsr250 which imported myself, didnt make money on if you count ours taken doing up.
If you want to make money have to be really careful. When i see people bidding on projects when say a nice restored one not mint is say 2500 more think maddness unless you can paint and do engine work then may be ok. But only a few oe parts can be 500£ before you know it.
Yeah it's certainly not going to be a money maker... More of a monet pit this one. Should be something pretty special when complete though 👍
If you get the exhaust ceramic coated it will bring down temperature slightly making riding a little nicer
Top tip. Use a little Harley Davidson contact grease on the electrical terminal pins.
Ah OK good tip! 👍
I’m expecting big things 😂 Unfortunately you’re such a busy man it’s taking a bit of time. If you’re anything like me, I study hours working out how things go and then forget 2wks later 😬 Summer is just round the corner 😉
Yeah that's it exactly, I've spent ages poring over the manual now haha 😄 Won't be long! Just need to get all the swinging arm bearings in nicely without the special tools 🤞
@@LambChopRides Good luck. Looking forward to see it on the road 👊
Better call (Ikea) Tech Support? To put that Bookshelf together? You say what, It's A Motorcycle? Oh My? Ha Ha! Time heals all they say? You'll get there and only remember the good bits when your riding it in the curvies, Mmmmmmm.
❤
Every time I i see one of these episodes it ensures I will never even consider stripping and rebuilding a motorcycle. I also hate decorating! 😁
Haha 😄 I actually hate decorating too! 😁👍
Real life full-size adult LEGO TECHNICS! Unfortunately, comes complete without instruction manual....😂
C'mon Chopsy, pull your finger out! 🤣🤣🤣
Just joking, looking really good mate 👍
Haha thanks Grumps 😄👏
Chopsy,by the time you finish this bike people will point and say “look,do you remember when motorcycles had petrol engines” 😂
Haha yes probably! 😄👍
I do hope you spring for a thickie oil cooler. Its nowhere near as satisfying as an exhaust, but it seems like a kindly thing to do to the bike.
You might have to watch your old videos on the tear down. Thx
Oh yes already done 😁👍
The induction kit sounds fantastic but getting the trumpets into the filters is a ball ache
Fortunately it's a used one so venture is already fitted 👍
Hurrah, it’s back at last 👍. But where’s Mavis, I hope you haven’t pulled her plug out 😢, is that a RS 500 on the work bench or a XR4i, difficult to tell. Can’t wait to see more on the build, brilliant.
Her sass level has been turned down to 1 😄 Its a 3 door Cosworth model, one of my old passion projects 😁👍
Mine was apart for about 3 months....had it back together in a day and started by 9pm that evening....that being said in all fairness i left the forks and the front end on...and the rear wheel connected to the swing arm...im sure ive said before but you have to be really careful with that swing arm spacer/bolt....if your not careful you can loose that in the swing arm....which i did...
Yeah and I have to replace all the swinging arm bearings which I'm a little apprehensive about too.. shouldn't be too much longer hopefully! You still got yours?
@@LambChopRides yep - just aquired one of those rocking horse shit alloy rear subframes that some italian company made years ago....they did a run of about 200 and no more after that...managed to score one off of a guy on the ducati forum....got some race cams as well...but thats gonna be more work...i tend to do more vids on my z1000 but the hyper is there in the background! ooh if you want some seriously trick bits one of the lads on the ducati uk forum is putting his evo sp back to stock.....hes got a set of the twin scproject 2-2 full systems - like what ive got...plus a shit load of other unobtanium stuff...
@@comfysofa1549 oh yes certainly interested, taking a look on there now :-)
Triples, or yokes if you’re in the uk ! You are in the uk chops so it’s top yoke, bottom yoke all day, none of this pampering to the yanks, they say tomato we say tomato 😜😀😜😜
Good work. If painting components maybe get a touch up kit for the red , get those chips touched up. That will annoy you!
Yes that's not a bad idea 👍
👍
OH you know your going to upgrade that oil cooler Chops...bite the bullet and get it.
Whats that deep scratch on the Headstock? BTW you can get parts diagrams from Ducati parts catalogue
That's where the wiring goes to the bars. Hoping it will be hidden when the wiring goes back on. I might just touch that bit up..
Why isn't Mavis helping you with this rebuild?! Lazy cow....😁😉
Video about tires for us idiots. Best tires in UK and your experience. Thanks mister god bless Fredy Queen
Guys, should we tell him about the Service Manual that has the exploded view of each section of the bike and the part list?
At last 😅
Where's Mavis and he acerbic comments?
Sass level turned down to 1 haha 😄👍
PLS PLS PLS where can i buy that bearing puller?
It was only an Ebay special, just search bearing puller loads of them 👍
2.5 years to strip it down….2.5 years to rebuild it. Series finale - Autumn 2026! 🤣🤣
Haha 🤣 hopefully not 😁👍
Sorry ACF50 not had coffee yet!
You want to hit up Delboys garage for them brackets. He likes to do stuff like that. He can paint them aswell id thought. Your build finished for spring/summer?
I've ordered some sheet alloy so going to have a crack.. shouldn't be too bad.. Yeah plan is to have it completed ready for the Spring 🙏🙏
@Jrambo51 You're having a laugh aren't you? 🤣. Chopsy wants it to look like a work of art not a piece of junk 🙈
@@LambChopRidesPerhaps you could call out to your viewers? Someone watching must be a sheet metal worker who has access to a guillotine and folder or press break 👍
Yeah was going to see if anyone offers hehe 😁👍
Look on the bright side mate, by the time you finish it’ll be tax and MOT exempt… win win!
Haha 😄👍
@@LambChopRides going to look mint, everytime I watch it I end up on eBay looking for a cheap one, they don’t seem to exist now
