Great to see the Duc. project getting sorted. Caliper factory 🏭 tour is going to be great. Still think the KTM Motard is the best of the best you have built. That Moto gets my 🏆
So good man. Truly special. The best part? You took the engine apart and got a good look inside, and a clean bill of health AND reassembly by a master engine builder. Amazing man. Cannot wait for the first ride but equally, enjoying the hell out of this. I'd like to do something similar in my 50s :) Sending love to your family as well!
I loved the Beastie build and this is another step on. Looking gorgeous .. easy - the bike. You've bought the gear, and are learning the idea. My projects normally end in a depressed collapse on the chair with a cup of something hot, whilst crying inside as I stare at all the tools I've bought. First start video needs a bottle of bubbly 🍾
Got to hand it to you. , taking on on such a mammoth task 😮, and your commitment, New tools , you’ll soon need an extension on the chops work shop to cater for all your stuff 😊
Hi John i know you done your blade a number of years ago but this is on another level ? so well done you, We learn a lot in life collage along the way ? it looks a bit nice OMG, can't wait for the next instalments on this, ATB Wayne........😀
Great vid, has it really been that long? I remember when you first got it! Looks like it's going to be something really special & a definite one of a kind. Can't wait to see it & your "first ride" review.
Even as a part complete project it's looking fantastic. So glad you're doing a quality build and with the Chopsie attention to detail I'm confident it's going too turn out into something truly special. Loving it.
The time and effort you've put into this Chops is outstanding mate. Also being sidelined with moving properties and garage refurbishments and the like. We know it's been a mission, but like i said before "that bike is going to look sick" Awesome going......can't wait to see it.👌😊
Can't go wrong with helperformance, got front and rear calipers, front and rear master cylinders and clutch master cylinder on my monster 1100s! Great upgrade, can't wait to see finished bike 👍💪🦆
Oh nice! I went to see them Friday and wow really impressed me. Video to follow soon but I can't wait to test them and get them fitted, look gorgeous as you know 👍
Miss use of adjustable spanner 😂 won't be showing my apprentices that bit of video. did your torque wrenches calibrated when you purchased them, they don't normally,
The shaft doesn't move, the bearing move around it. These can tend to corrode into place and become really difficult to remove. Hence the copper slip grease 👍
Enjoying the build, I do wonder why you put grease on the steering stem shaft, but it is your scooter. The finish of the parts is great. I am enjoying the series as I enjoy most of the your videos. Keep up the good work. Hurry up and ride that beast, should be fun!
Well done Chops (who needs special tools🤣) you cracked that swinging are no bother👍. Love them filters too buddy “really nice” class job you are doing. Can’t wait for the next one👏👏
Great progress, I was there when you started so good to see. As for ‘swinging arm’.. 😂 I’m in the UK and riding for twenty years and I can’t say I have ever heard someone use that term over ‘swing arm’, not mechanics, nobody. But meh, who gives a fudge 😂
Look's amazing already, it could indeed be a show bike, and without doubt what you spend really doesn't matter if you love it, and I'm sure you do. Thank you...
Looking good chops, wasn’t clear from the vid if the lower Headrace seal was the right way up. It needs to go with the flat surface up, and the lip facing down. Seems a bit weird I know. It can cause drag if it’s the wrong way round.
@@LambChopRides yep, I did the same thing a couple of times (long story but ultimately how I got my RUclips handle) just done my ZXR-H2 front end and luckily the Kawasaki manual is remarkably clear. The difference is quite notable. Loving the work though and keep it coming. Hopefully see you out and about at some point. 👍👍
Chops, when you torqued up the swing arm bolt didn’t you wind your new torque wrench down to 70Nm and then down another 5? Looked like you wound it in the same direction but said the required torque value required was 75Nm? Great build BTW, can’t wait to see and hear it finished 👍
I had an open airbox on my S2R 1000 and the intake roar was addictive - like sitting astride a V1! Will you be reflashing the ECU to match, as the airflow characteristics are going to be noticeably different from the old, restrictive, airbox?
@@LambChopRides Good choice! Rich and Chris are highly recommended. They were featured on Henry Cole's "The Motorbike Show" series 11, episode 2 (I think). Well worth a watch if you haven't seen it already.
Oh Chopsy,This is becoming an absolute stonker of a build.looking forward to the next episode. Greased shafts this week, Oh eck! You'll be polishing your helmet next week.😂
Chopsy, 13min 52 torquing up swing arm. I think you may have over torqued it. I think you said 75nm but looked like you set the torque wrench to 75Ft lbs? (About 100nm) Might have been reading the wrong scale? Bikes looking great.
Ok mate, only say this as I’ve made that error, I have similar wrench and have tape over the FT lbs side now and on the vid the marker look like it was against 100. 👍🏻
I bought my SMT 6 weeks ago, and since then I have not stopped buying bits for it. So I know what you are talking about when you don't want to do a cost break down... hahahaha...

She is looking good! looking forward to start up 👍🏻👌🏻
Wow looking good. I do think the older air cooled Ducatis sound a lot nicer than modern Ducatis,😁
That's a fancy kitchen.
Chopsy that is looking superb.👍👍 superb work and effort ,bet a few mugs of tea where consumed during this.😁 great to watch mate .👍
Thanks Wattie! Every time I'm in the garage I get distracted admiring it! 😆👍
Just like the old British Rail, you're getting there. Enjoying the build project. Thanks LCR
Haha one piece at a time 😆👍
A massive well done for your efforts and sharing the journey with us !
Awesome, glad you are making progress and love that you have gone all out now… it will be special ❤
I hope so 😁👍
Lovely bike. Had one for 9 years and 96k miles. Had a 22 litre tank on it which was brilliant. Still miss it.
Nearly done chops, hopefully one day I might see it out and about. Looking great 👍
Fantastic great to see you're almost there, getting near the vinegar strokes.......
She's stunning 😍 she is really coming together nicely well done chops so worth the hassle time and effort 👌.
A lot of dedication there. As you say,you hope it starts.Cheers.
Classy colour combination in her undressed state👍
Thanks Anthony 👍
Worth the wait for all of us it's going to be one amazing motorcycle,, brilliant stuff ☘️😄😄😄 from northern Ireland ☘️
Thanks Cecil 👍 I'm getting quite excited now about pressing that starter button! 🤗
It's all coming together lovley Chopsy I've got to say though your lighting in your garage makes the paint on the bikes pop 👍
I remember you starting this project years ago
I know David! Finally going to have a conclusion 👍
It’s looking fantastic 👍! This is the very definition of a labor of love 😉.
It’s looking great you must be proud money can’t compare to a beautiful special bike , your going to have a lot of fun times on it when it done 👍 😉
Thanks buddy 👍
Can't wait to see this finished Chopsy ..and then the ZXR750 a dream bike from my youth along with LC"s and RGV's ...🔥🔥

Looking amazing. Cant wait to see the finished bike. Always good to stick to the rule of not disclosing money spent on our pride and joys 😂.
love this build mate, my favourite of all the RUclips builds. So nice to see you getting so carried away with bling!! looks amazing fella.
Thanks a ton!
Looking increasingly good Chopsy, well worth all the effort!
nice work chopsy stop doubting yourself 👌👌👍👍
Was going so well mate till all that copperslip came out 😢 was the swingarm nut meant to be torqued greased ,dry or locktighted??
Yeah good point.... I might have to redo that one as was supposed to be dry

Wow, a lot more effort then upgrading and assembling my Suzuki Hustler 250 in suzuki blue. Love the 2 stroke babble.
lovely, who ever thought of mixing gold and red bits is a genius
Looking very nice. Can't wait to see the first wheelie video

Good choice mr chops loving the colours ❤
Coming on. The black tail looks good with the red frame.
Yes I think so 😁👍
Miss use of adjustable spanner 😂 won't be showing my apprentices that bit of video. did your torque wrenches calibrated when you purchased them, they don't normally,
Yes they all came with certificates 👍
@4:20 That's a special technique, wacking the outer bearing cage with a spanner and hammer😳. Maybe a reason the head stock is not going smoothly??
Actually the inner part of the bearing is higher than the race, so not touching the race there with the adjustable spanner
ah, that i couldn't see. No worries than and keep up the good work.@@LambChopRides
Loving the Saturday night sounds coming from the garage 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
Haha me too! 😜👍
im already looking forward to the next episode
Looking Great chops👍🏻 Did you adjust the cam belts again after the initial 140hz set up?
Yeeerrrr, luvin this Chopsy.
It’s gonna look bloody Amazing. 👍
This is seriously looking awesome! Can’t wait to purchase tickets for the raffle when it’s done!!!😂
Haha thanks Dave 😆👍
Beautiful 😻 but why did you not fix the big scratch on the Head Stock?
Yes I've touched that up now 👍
Awesome build. My only question is why didn't you touch up the huge gouge in red paint on steering yoke?
Yes don't worry I have 😁👍
All good, but I'm not sure about the copper slip on the shaft as that will turn into grinding paste
The shaft doesn't move, the bearing move around it. These can tend to corrode into place and become really difficult to remove. Hence the copper slip grease 👍
@@LambChopRides ah fair play. I assumed there was some rotation around that shaft too. Lovely build by the way!
Wasn't expecting the prostate reference, nearly spat my coffee everywhere 😂

Great video chopsy! I have a few of those Ducati special tools as well 😂😂😂. Don’t have a Ducati though!
DIY tooling - brilliant👍
Thank you! Cheers Paul 👍
looking so damn good , bikes not bad either
Haha 😆👍
Chops are you going to carbon fiber wheels also , the restoration is going well
I thought about it and if Dymag were still making them I might have.. but the standard forged wheels are very nice 👌
Looking good chops, wasn’t clear from the vid if the lower Headrace seal was the right way up. It needs to go with the flat surface up, and the lip facing down. Seems a bit weird I know. It can cause drag if it’s the wrong way round.
Really? Well then I might have cocked that up.. I did put the rubber lip facing up. Too late I'm not changing it now 😬

👍Coming together nicely. Mavis must be on holiday, all those inuendo's and not a peep 🤣
lovely motorbike. it will be a top beauty this one
Nice one Chops. Yeh don't worry about the money, that'll happen when you start on the Kawaka
Yes I will keep a tally there for people 👍
I had an open airbox on my S2R 1000 and the intake roar was addictive - like sitting astride a V1! Will you be reflashing the ECU to match, as the airflow characteristics are going to be noticeably different from the old, restrictive, airbox?
Yes absolutely, going to get the full dyno setup treatment 👍

Unrelated but as a tall heavy guy what bike has better ergos? Ktm 990 Duke or ktm 890 SMT? 🤔
The SMT does, the 990 is better than the 890 but more cramped than the SMT 👍
Brilliant vid it's coming along nicely, where's mavis hiding
Ahh mate.... that is looking delicious John!
Thanks Pete, I can't stop looking at it already! 😂👍

I just noticed the hjc redbull jerez helm u got there, how u liking it? Am thinking of getting the redbull austin version.
It's a very comfortable helmet, I absolutely love it.
Getting secondhand satisfaction with the bearings and swinger, found myself biting my own lip 🤣🤣🤣
Haha sorry about that 😆👍
Hi do you know he paint code for the rear shock as mine is looking a bit scabby
I actually haven't touched the shock, well sorry I had the spring replaced when the shock was rebuilt. I had it changed for a heavier weight spring
Looking nice 👍
I miss the build series
Chopsy what make are those torque wrenches i need some at some point for when i get another bike 🤣👍👍
They were Halfords professional ones all with certificates they are calibrated 👍
What does the induction kit do for you vs. having an airbox?
The standard airbox is very restricted with only a very small opening. This will flow more air and make more power 👍
Happy to see you putting those expensive torque wrenches to good use 😂
Very well done Chopsy. 👌👍 May I ask what is your day job aside from You tube etc? I am just plain nosey 😄
Oh coming along nicely 👍 one question has Mavis moved out 😂
Haha she's turned off 😂
I bought my SMT 6 weeks ago, and since then I have not stopped buying bits for it. So I know what you are talking about when you don't want to do a cost break down... hahahaha...
Great episode Chopsie! Are you swapping many bolts for titanium and, if so, what weight savings are you getting? I'm just curious.
I have a fair few to swap over but noticed I'm missing a couple I want to change. Weight saving is around half the weight of the steel ones 👍
@@LambChopRides thanks, well worth having as the collective mass saving is worth having, as well as looking nicer too 👍
👍
Looking good Chopsy. Can’t wait for the next episode. By the way, are you thinking of selling? 😅
Haha no Shaun 😆👍
Great work Chops.. you definitely wouldn’t want the mrs to see the cost if you put that in a vid 😉Pete 👍👍
Haha no absolutely! 😆👍
I think the front fork should be a little deeper. The front is then too high
I want to increase the ride height as much as possible as the S models arnt that tall
Please align the 'K&N' logos on the filter tops :)
Yeah unfortunately there are a couple of crushed fins on the filter so hiding those underneath. Means the logos not align 😆
😎, great job 👏
Thanks Alan 👍
When is Mavis going to make a return? I miss her comments. 👸
Raffle it ❤❤❤
Getting there! stick me down for a raffle ticket please!
Haha 🤣👍
Money can't buy you happiness, but trick Ducati Hypermotards can... 😁
Where's Mavis gone Chops?
Is it just me, or is the rear subframe on the wrong way ? it looks to high to the rest of the bike.
The bike isn't sitting level, the nose is way down
That's looking fan-fucking-tastic!
Thanks Michael 😁👍
Wheres Mavis gone Chopsy?
