Hi Aaron and Claire!! I purchased your cookbook and it was the best choice I've ever made in my adventures in Korean cuisine. My husband served in the US Army in Seoul... and became very acquainted with the food culture there and he loved it. So I, being the adoring wife that I am, have made it my mission to recreate some of his favorites. I've used your cookbook along with your written recipes that you include with your videos. I am forever grateful for the love and care that you have put into your recipes. I approach them with a level of confidence that you totally inspire. And anything that I've made thus far, my husband 100% approves. I made kimchi one time before from a different "famous" Asian author and it was good... but I made your version the second time around (the Napa cabbage one) and it is spectacular! I adore how you just bring all the "stuff" down to earth... in an approachable, un-intimidating way. With a humble heart... I thank you both! Hugs, Penny
I purchased his cook book cause I felt bad I've been making a ton of their recipes! haha. I wanted to give them more support then simply subbing to channel.
I wrote a comment a month ago that I would cook this. I did cook this, a bunch of times. It is amazing how flavorful the broth is without simmering it for 8 hours. You can do a bunch of different things with this soup too, I added some tomato paste and Italian basil to the broth, and it was simply amazing. Thank you so much for teaching us this.
Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate and have learned from your channel. I became interested in Korean food because my father was with the Canadian Army in 1950 and served in Korea for 18 months. He introduced me to Asian foods. I particularly like Korean food. Thank you Steve (67yrs) Manitoba
Oh, I want to try this! It looks delicious. (Claire, your happy dance is absolutely adorable!) I have a friend who just came back from a trip to Korea recently and he was so inspired by the food that now he wants to learn to prepare some of the dishes himself. So I, of course, recommended this channel and Aaron's cookbook (which I have and use frequently).
Greetings from the U.S. Just finished making and eating the Korean Noodle Soup and I have to say, it was AMAZING!!! Factoring in prep time, it definitely didn't take 20 minutes but once everything was prepped and ready to go, it was quick. Thanks so much for this great recipe. Now that the cold weather has arrived, I'll be making this soup again and again.
I’ve been eating a lot of soup lately and have been looking for soup recipes that are time and effort savers but still taste great. I’m getting tired of soaking beans for hours and creating my own stock from scraps and bones. I’ll definitely give this one a try, just without the chilis. Thanks for posting.
Where I live, we really don't have good Korean places. Nothing like the amazingly authentic and delicious dishes that I crave every time I watch you. I shall experiment with your recipes and try to make my own amazingly authentic Korean food. Can't wait to try this one :)
I made this today and it is really delicious together with Korean spicy cucumber side dish! I felt like I just ate from a Korean restaurant, because it really is that amazing. Thank you so much for sharing all these great recipes!
Nice recipe! I added some Miso for extra flavour, was really nice! I highly recommend anyone not to skip out on the sauce, it’s amazing when you mix it in your bowl 😁
OMGOSH! This is much lighter than I expected it to be, and worked really well with my gluten free noodles! :) it's another win! Also, I didn't wimp out on the seasoning (except I didn't have any chilis) and tried with a small amt - just enough to make the back of my throat & tip of my tongue be tickled. It's really delicious both ways and I appreciate that it doesn't take all day - I found out this summer I'm autistic which makes things sometimes take a bit longer for me than it would for most people :) It's nice to finally know why! Keep putting these quickies out Aaron - they are very much appreciated! :)
We made this soup two time this week - once with roasted leftover chicken and white button mushrooms and once with pork belly and bay bolete mushrooms, both were delicious (even if the second one hard to call "chicken soup"...), and with homemade chicken stock, and a lot of garlic :-). Well, your recipe is really versatile, Aaron, thank you! We also made your bacon fried rice and chow mein. And we love listen how Claire speaks Korean, it sounds so pleasant. Have a nice day!
Another great recipe and video. Aaron, you are such a great teacher. Makes recipes so simple…. Claire, you are the cherry on the ice cream sundae. So entertaining and love that little jiggle at the end…👍🏾
Made this tonight. Worked brilliantly and was very popular with the boss. Awesome thanks guys. We’re in Australia coming into Summer but it was still brilliant. Thanks.
OMG...I. didn't know you have a cookbook available on Amazon. I enjoyed all your other recipes in your channel. I just ordered 2 books...one for myself and one for my brother-in-law 🙂
Mmmmm yummy!! It is getting chilly here in the evenings so this would be a perfect dinner! Thanks for sharing! I really want to try using the chicken the way that you fried it. I think that would be a whole new experience for me!!
Have made this twice now both with and without the spicey sauce. Much prefer home-made stock. This is a versitile dish whicb can readily cater to additional veggies etc. Fabulous
How about trying the frozen section? They might have something similar and they will cook so fast! Or you could also try it with Japanese udon, somen, or even ramen noodles. All of them will be fantastic.😍
@@AaronandClaire Thank you! I will check the frozen section! If not, I know where to find some delicious udon noodles. 😉 And I won't worry about it because it will be so delicious. See all that I've learned from your channel. 😍
Yo, dude! So, get this-my homegirl was kinda down in the dumps, right? So, I whipped up this bomb soup that warmed her right up. When she hit me with the "Where'd you learn this recipe?" I just pointed to the legend, Chef Aaron. The guy's a total kitchen ninja, and his recipes are like pure magic, man!💯💯
I really trrrrst Aaron’s recipes. I have try a few without all the ingredients and still manage to come out pretty good. I am sure with all the ingredients is amazingly tasty 😋. Thanks Aaron and Claire, you guys are awesome and fun to watch. Greetings from Denver Colorado 😃
@Aaron Thanks for the recipe. I recently bought an Instant Pot and would like to try it out. Would you happen to know if I could make this using an Instant Pot and if so, how long should I set the timer for? If it's too complicated using an Instant Pot, I will make it on the stove as shown in your video. 😊
Interesting when my Oma taught me to make chicken soup she would remove the skin. The skins would not be wasted we would spread them out on a baking sheet, season the skins, add another baking sheet to keep the skins flat and pop it into the preheated the oven to 180°C for 10-15 minutes till they crisped up. Drain off any fat for use in the soup or other recipes if it was a fatty chicken, serve the crispy skin on the side with the soup. I think i will make Oma's chicken soup and add your extra elements and see what happens, swap korean noodles rather than regular pasta she used. Thanks for the recipe, Take care, God bless one and all.
I love the chaotic good teaching style Aaron uses xD "use a hair dryer instead of pressing tofu; if your wife kills you, that's a personal problem!" but also "use whatever mushrooms you want.. *no* except for picking up and eating random things off the ground outside, you absolute toddlers."
Once the noodles go in, they will soak up the broth, so just store the broth in the fridge and cook the noodles right before you have it. This recipe makes 2 servings and you can keep the broth in the fridge for 2-3 days. Please check out the written recipe in the description for more details! 😊🙌
I love this soup! I bought your cookbook and on page 172 it shows a recipe for Dakkalguksu but it isn't the same as this one. Is this Chicken Soup in your book by a different name? Thanks
I made this tonight and really enjoyed it! I made a mistake with the noodles. I thought you only had to rinse the fresh noodles. My dry noodles didn’t cook right and some stuck together. But I was able to fix it. I would make this again! I think I would take off the chicken skin though. Not my favorite. And the chili sauce made it yummy!
So glad to hear that! Next time, if you’re using dried noodles again, try to cook them in a separate pot and add them to the broth. That will give you a much better result! 😁🙌
How did you read my mind? I have thawed chicken in the fridge and no recipe in mind - until now! Hopefully it will taste almost as delicious since I only have chicken breasts
I love Korean metal bowls. I really want some but they are so expensive lol I cant get a couple of the korean ingredients where i live. I cant find the gochjong (?) pepper powder or those types of noodles. Can i use any kind of red pepper powder or does it have to be that kind? Also can i use a different noodle? Or does it have to be fresh noodles? Will it change the taste of the soup? I really want to try making this at home.
Hi! I love your videos! I have a question. I'd like to know if I can use Konjac noodles in any of your recipes? I'm diabetic and can't eat many carbs which rules out most noodle dishes. I found Konjac noodles but have been a little scared to try them to be honest! I'd love your advice. 💜
What can you use insetad of those noodles? I live far far far from any Asian supermarkets and online ordering is out of the question, we only have italian noodles in the store here, is there anything to substitute it with?
Wow, I just made this and it's amazing, especially with the spicy kick :D Only it took me over an hour to make 😂😂 hopefully it won't take me quite as long next time 😅 Thank you 🙏🙏

Soup even in summer is still amazing great upload as always my friend
Tell me about it! 😍
한국에는 치킨 수프(삼계탕)를 여름에 먹는 전통적 풍습이 있어요. '이열치열' 이라고 하는데 더위를 이용해 더위를 물리친다라는 뜻입니다.

ps. I am going to attempt to freeze about half of it b/c there's only one of me LOLOL
ps. Froze ok, but the noodles soaked up all the broth. Lesson. Learned. (and no, you're not responsible....it was an experiment 🤣🤣)
Amusingly, I'm eating chicken soup when I saw you upload this. I look forward to trying this recipe!
This does sound delicious, and the twenty-minute prep/cooking time is definitely appealing. Thank you for sharing.
Loving the energy, will cook this tonight
Your chopping skills are exceptional!
Omg why am I watching this , I need to make it asap!! Looks perfect!

Just made this soup, it is as amazing as advertised! Hubby loves it, will make it again. Great technique video! Thank You Aaron and Claire!
I would also warn against using magic mushrooms in your soup unless you're prepared to have philosophical discussions with your house plants.
I like talking to my plants.. They know things 😘
😅😅
You just gave me an idea 😂
