My husband made this last night and again tonight we loved it so much! We used udon noodles because that was what we could get and it was bouncy and delicious. My husband asked me to tell you that he respects you as a chef, Aaron!
I made this recipe with all the ingredients mentioned. (The ingredients can be found either on Amazon or at an Asian Market if you are lucky to have one near you). I can't tell you how delicious this was. We could not stop eating it this. Thank you Aaron and Claire for a fantastic dish.
The dish looks delicious! Aaron posted this video at the perfect time. Too many lazy nights on a hot day I don't want to cook. This dish is nice and simple. Thanks Aaron and Claire!

Knife-Pared noodles are my favorite! They make every dish look "fancy". I drizzled a bit of sesame oil over the blanched Baby Boy Choy so they didn't look so flat ...added a nice flavor and some shine.

Thank you so much for your recipes, they never fail me.
Welp, made this just now and it was awesome! The tweaks I did to make it LA-style were to include a seeded/minced serrano chile with the aromatics, served with lime wedges instead of black vinegar, and also fresh cilantro with the tops of the green onions. And the Taiwanese knife-cut noodles were a great recommendation, which I was able to find at H-Mart. This is going on the rotation!

I made this for dinner tonight and it was great! It was similar to another recipe I use, but this version was both easier and more delicious. The bok choy really brings it together. Now I'm going to make this all the time. I added some dark soy sauce for color (just .5 tbsp), mirin instead of wine, a sliced green chili pepper for some extra spiciness, and I used pappardelle noodles. Yum.
Congrats on the sponsor! I love watching the videos you guys post. I’ve been trying to find gochujang since watching your tteokbokki videos and one of my local stores FINALLY stocked it! How cool! And they just stocked short grain rice so I can follow other recipes too! So excited! Also I love Claire and her honesty about the food! Amazon. Sempio brand. Just a few days ago they had their big container (32oz) reduced to just $6! Normally it's like $14.... so I bought 2 cause I've been easily burning through Gochujang paste like crazy lol. Compared to the smaller container I found at a local Kroger that's nearly the same price, too good to pass up :)
I will be making these noodles again today and i can say as someone who never liked spicy food , I love them. My Family loves them. Its nice to have a quick easy way to make something new. I am paring this dish with the garlic fried chicken from your cook book( that I just got for my birthday) and I can not wait to start cooking dinner. Thank you for the insperation and making cooking fun again. Love your style of quick easy and tasty as well as your humor .
I'm cooking this for dinner tonight,. Omg looks so good. I'll come back and let u know how it was . Thank u ,. Aaron and Claire u have helped me learn how to cook some really good food . And my family is happy ... Lol
I tried this and it was really good! It’s a little too spicy for me (despite the fact that I am Asian & I eat lotsa chilli), so I’d suggest using less chilli flakes especially for people that arent used to the spicyness! But the recipe’s amazing, I substituted the pork with beef though & it’s still amazing
I have not watched any Aaron and Claire in a long time, but I "didn't worry about it." Aaron is charming, informative and fun. Claire is adorable, spunky and beautiful. What a wonderful couple and what a great way to appreciate food from start to finish, with a lovely couple!
Just finished making this dish. Used rice noodles that's all I could find. After I finished it my spouse sampled it, looked at me and said, "this is the best thing you've ever cooked for me." Next time for me though only going half as much red pepper flakes. 🌶 it's got some kick! Thank you for the recipe!!
Congrats on having a sponsor!! Your channel is great. My husband and I love your videos. Thank you for your content and the positive presence you put out into the world.
Made this tonight. Unfortunately I couldn't get those chili flakes and they only had ground beef at my store but I DIDN'T WORRY ABOUT IT :) Turned out great! Thanks for your quick, simple recipes!
This is magic - was able to get the knife cut noodles and threw it all together with the extra 5 garlic cloves. The scallions in that amount are amazing - I cut up my Bok Choy and mixed it through as I love greens in my noodles - my new GO TO an absolute winner Aaron thank you!!!!
I made these tonight (without the pork) and they are truly delicious. I bought the knife noodles and I will be buying them in bulk. If you are in the Uk, I got mine from sous chef as they were cheaper than Amazon
I admire how beautifully you incorporated the ad into your recipe so smoothly and perfect I didn't even mind the ad portion. Recipe looks fab will have to try!
Your channels is the only cooking channel I actually try the recipes of. Because your every recipe is so felxible and you always let us know what we can substitute with what. Because most of the time you don't have the exact ingredients at home and you're lost at what to replace them with, ultimately giving up on trying the recipe.
I made this today and it was amazing!! I added crispy tofu instead of pork for a vegetarian twist! But here’s a warning… if you use common crushed red pepper, use WAY less than he uses. I didn’t realize how much spicier they are compared to Korean chili flakes. I used 1tbs and it was still reallllllllyyyy spicy. I would suggest going down to 1tsp of chili pepper for it to be more enjoyable.
I just made these noodles last night, and they were incredibly tasting and satisfying! I tried other recipes before, but this one was the one with the perfect spiciness! Thank you so much for the recipe!

Gotta say that I made this and it was so much better than I even expected! We didn't have black vinegar but I'd read a comment below about someone drizzling lime on top so I did that and it was absolutely amazing! Aaron never misses!
I just made this. It was excellent! It was certainly spicy, but I wouldn’t consider it hot. The sugar gives a balance to the spicy, and the oyster sauce, and Gochugaru flakes gives it a unique “Asian” flavor that makes it stand out from your typical western chili noodles. I was so excited I forgot to give it a splash of black vinegar. Thanks, Aaron!

You are a bundle of joy and inspiration and information all on your own and your appreciation for your husband's amazing dishes is enough to make me want to start cooking your dishes that much more!!!
Made this recipe and it was amazing, even with the substitutions I had to make in a pinch - hoisin for oyster sauce, garlic chili past for the Korean chili flakes, sherry cooking wine for the good stuff, Thai rice noodles for my fav flat wide rice noodles, and it was still crazy good! Thanks for this, will order the correct ingredients and make it once a week for the next year to master it. Thanks again!
Made this today, but with beef (no pork in the firdge today) but keeping the ginger. It's a banger! Fragrant, savoury, absolutely delicious! And that addition of Laoganma on the end, giving an extra kick! Thanks Aaron!
Thank you again Aaron for another awesome dish! Just tried making it for my family for lunch today, substituting tofu for pork, and it was a HUGE hit on this rainy relaxing day! I told them, another recipe from Aaron and Claire- my family knows how much I enjoy learning to cook from you! Thanks again from Los Angeles😊
First video I've watched-subscribed immediately (and clicked the bell)! I truly love the way you presented the recipe and cooking process, VERY USER FRIENDLY! I look forward to watching more videos and will DEFINITELY be making these noodles. Thank you!
This recipe is so good. We tried it once and it became an instantly weekly meal for us. I'm going to try and use tofu next time instead of ground meat! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe!
I just made this and I can’t stop drooling even though I am eating it already hahahaha ❤😂 I used a thick piece of bacon instead of ground pork but it was sooooo good the meat became so juicy and UGH amazing!
We just did this for dinner. Subbed ground turkey and added shimeji mushrooms. Also added more peppers to the initial oil to jack up the heat. Awesome. Thanks
Oh i wanna try this! If you're gonna use "regular" chili flakes, for this recipe, i'd suggest you use a pestle and mortar first to get that gochugaru-texture.
I like how you say: Use what you have. I can't tell you how much it puts me off when a recipe doesn't have any wiggle room to substitute things, especially if things aren't available in your area
My 12-year old said that she wanted to try garlic chili oil noodles so I searched the YT for recipes. This recipe popped up - all the great tastes that I love and I went for it! The 12-year old and I ate it with great gusto! I LOVE these korean tastes and it seems she does too 😊 Thank you 🙏
This recipe is amazing! I just made it and my mind is blown! I changed it slightly with what was in my fridge. I used some chopped beef instead of pork, some tomato paste, and lemon juice. For a slight more tang and sauciness. Would an extra table spoon of the Korean red pepper flakes make it spicier? It’s so good, but feel like a little more heat would be nice.
Yes, Korean chili pepper flakes (gochugaru) will definitely make it spicier. (If you’re interested in getting one, please check out the description.) 😁👍
Yum! Looks delish!!! I know what I am having today! Its 7:14 am....I gotta wait a little while! Mmmmmmmmm!!! SO GOOD! Aaron & Claire, 2 Thumbs up!!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I just made these and they were amazing! So delicious! I took the beautiful Clare’s advice & added a big spoon of spicy chili crisps and it was perfection!! So yum!!
Made this today, it was good but it (imo) really does need that acidity to take it to the next level, or else it's a bit one-note and a bit too rich. But with some lemon or other acid it's awesome.
Looks so delicious! Also, that was an awesome transition to surf shark. It was such a brilliant analogy. That was the best ad I’ve ever seen by a RUclipsr.
Knife cut Noodles needs more publicity! They are my favorite type of noodles. fettuccine close second. Try dandan noodles with it. It's amazing! Edit: the saucy dandan noods. Not the soup dandan noods
I once put a sprinkle of gochugaru into hot oil and they became cinders in a millisecond 😅 Didn’t know they are that delicate! But I like the taste of this particular pepper. Good to know there’s still a way to make chilli noodles with them! Thanks Aaron!
Love your recipes, my friends. I served this recipe to friends last night with yakimandu and bulgogi. This was the star. Since I watch my carbs, I ate the leftovers today with finely diced cabbage from one of your other recipes. I spent a year on the Korean DMZ almost 50 years ago.....but I learned Korean cooking from you.
Just tried this, and have to say its amazing. Added 2 fresh Thai chills in with the oil for a bit of extra kick but have to say it probably wasn't necessary. Smooth flavor's that combine well. Thank You !! I was thinking next time to maybe add some lime juice maybe even a touch of mint.
I just happened to have bought a 600g package of sliced noodles yesterday because they were on sale and then BAM! this video showed up! I thought this was fantastic, and 15 cloves of garlic was not too much at all! Thank you so much.
I LOVE this dish. I've made this several times and with all kinds of ground meats and it's always delicious! Thank you for this delicious easy recipe!! (Making it tonight once again yum lol)
OMG, tried ur recipe today, with a twist (without the shao xing wine, but i mix with tahini sauce & add some spicy chiliflakes), my other half loves it so much. It is so tasty, so good. Thank u for sharing yr recipe
OMG these were so good, cooking spicy food to try to get my daughter to go into labour, (worked for me, had a massive meal of chili crab before I had her 😁) I found these noodles in my newly found local H Mart (heaven) and we decided to give them a go. SO delicious. Trusted the garlic, and went the full amount. Every last bite was eaten and we have officially called this dish, Korean spaghetti bolognese!
I've had this bookmarked for a long time and I am finally eating it for lunch right this second. Very delicious and easy to make! I just added a little sesame oil at the end. Thank you for the recipe!
Tried this today, left out the bok choy and wine and used ground beef instead and OMG it was still SO DELICIOUS. I am not a huge fan of spice but this literally was the perfect amount 😂 now I have a whole huge bag of gochugaru to use

Aaron, your laid back, humorous, approachable and down to earth way of presenting your recipes is so encouraging and uplifting and yet so professional....and Claire, you are the consummate and concise food critic who gets straight to the point...hitting so many of the important little details and nuances of the recipe with additional honest helpful tips for making every great dish Aaron makes even more over the top than they already are! You are a bundle of joy and inspiration and information all on your own and your appreciation for your husband's amazing dishes is enough to make me want to start cooking your dishes that much more!!!
Aww...such a huge compliment. We're so flattered.☺️ Thank you so much for this sweet message and enjoying our videos! 😁🙏
Thank you!
Claire's energy is so vibrant and radiant, love her! 😍 Thank you for your videos, love both of you guys!!!!
That looks soo good
THANKS!!! 😍😍😍
I love this channel so much with how practicle you are. if you don't a certain ingredient then its fine. Love it mate, look forward to the next one!
This is now the most requested dinner by my 6y/o son and 8y/o daughter. Absolutely fantastic! Thank You so much for sharing this!
Are your kids used to spicy food? Mine is just starting.
We just did this for dinner. Subbed ground turkey and added shimeji mushrooms. Also added more peppers to the initial oil to jack up the heat. Awesome. Thanks
Awesome! So glad you liked it! 😁👍
I just made these for the family. Oh my goodness it was so amazing. I’m definitely going to add it to the rotation of meals I make.
Perfect timing, I was just about to make lunch and now I know what to make. This looks so so good!
Aaron, you're a life saver. Thank you! Keep up the great work; both for my busy schedule and for Claire's stomach!
I’ve made this twice and i always forget the toasted sesame seeds! It gives it that extra crunch.
My 12-year old said that she wanted to try garlic chili oil noodles so I searched the YT for recipes. This recipe popped up - all the great tastes that I love and I went for it! The 12-year old and I ate it with great gusto! I LOVE these korean tastes and it seems she does too 😊 Thank you 🙏
I made it so spicy that i couldn'd eat it
That looks so good! I'm going to try this for sure. Thank you!
Please let us know how it was and tag us on Instagram!! 😍😍
After discovering Gochujang and Gochu Gari……I love your channel for showing me how to use them
I got leftover noodles and scrapple and now I know what I’m making for dinner tonight.😊
Scrapple for the win.
I might try it with Spam!
Thank you for saying that Aimee! and please let us know how it was! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
This would have been a perfect breakfast if you had added a runny egg.
I just made these and they were amazing! So delicious! I took the beautiful Clare’s advice & added a big spoon of spicy chili crisps and it was perfection!! So yum!!
I'm with Claire, I don't think I'll be able to stop eating this. 😋🤩
Made this today, it was good but it (imo) really does need that acidity to take it to the next level, or else it's a bit one-note and a bit too rich. But with some lemon or other acid it's awesome.
Aaron, you showed us how to properly feed a hungry bird. You earned a night away from the sofa.
🤣🤣🤣
Looks so delicious! Also, that was an awesome transition to surf shark. It was such a brilliant analogy. That was the best ad I’ve ever seen by a RUclipsr.
Thank you for saying that. I really appreciate that!! 😍😍
Knife cut Noodles needs more publicity! They are my favorite type of noodles. fettuccine close second. Try dandan noodles with it. It's amazing!
Edit: the saucy dandan noods. Not the soup dandan noods
You really know something my friend! 😎😎👍👍
I once put a sprinkle of gochugaru into hot oil and they became cinders in a millisecond 😅
Didn’t know they are that delicate! But I like the taste of this particular pepper. Good to know there’s still a way to make chilli noodles with them!
Thanks Aaron!
0:03 did he just call me a beaner?
😮
Yeah, sup with chino?
Yeah!
I always like Claire's gigantic bites! 😃 That's a woman who really likes her food!
Pro-tip to the young men (and women) - learn to cook, then find a woman (or man) who looks at you the same way Claire looks at Aaron's cooking.
@@willcresson8776 love this :)
What acidity did you use at the end of the video?
dont worry about it - love it
Uncle Roger: Where your MSG? HAIYAA!
Bok choy show-off! We love to see it!
Tell me about it! 😍
But eating that half bok choy ... messy.
I just happened to have bought a 600g package of sliced noodles yesterday because they were on sale and then BAM! this video showed up! I thought this was fantastic, and 15 cloves of garlic was not too much at all! Thank you so much.
6:36 i hear that a lot from the ladies
🤣
I LOVE this dish. I've made this several times and with all kinds of ground meats and it's always delicious! Thank you for this delicious easy recipe!! (Making it tonight once again yum lol)
Even my Thai wife loved this. Excellent. Thank you for your fantastic recipes.
Hello from Canada! This is the 3rd meal in a row you have inspired me to cook. Fantastic videos. Thanks!
I've had this bookmarked for a long time and I am finally eating it for lunch right this second. Very delicious and easy to make! I just added a little sesame oil at the end. Thank you for the recipe!
I’ve made this dish so many times using your video. It as a never fail go to for me now. Sure to please and impress. Thanks!
Tried this today, left out the bok choy and wine and used ground beef instead and OMG it was still SO DELICIOUS. I am not a huge fan of spice but this literally was the perfect amount 😂 now I have a whole huge bag of gochugaru to use
i made this tonight and it was soooooo good! even my son, who doesn't like spice, loved it! thanks for the awesome recipe!
