The small building connected on the left side of Bergner's was a dmv for a long time, which I believe moved to army trail road in the 90's. Is the Ace hardware still on the right side of Carson's? There was a Sears Surplus store for a short time in the 80's, south of the Supermarket thar was right next to this on the left, then Trak Auto was on the far south. That was when I was a little kid. It was never a great mall, pretty crappy actually. There used to be a business just to the north of this parking lot, called "rent a beater" or such, in the early 80's, where you could rent one of their crappy old cars. 🤣 I moved west 15 years ago, and havn't been back.
I remember in the 50's taking the Blue Bird bus to downtown Aurora where we all shopped. Carson's was originally downtown past the old Walgreen's store. A very long time ago. Thanks!! 😊😊
No. Ace Hardware has been there for the better part of 60 years. I think the auto center was that little part that sticks out from the building. Or I think there might have been a separate building for that that's no longer there
This store was originally a Sear store and was the anchor for the shopping center, Across the street was one of the original McDonalds, Oblweiz Dairy, and Pizza Hut. In that same area was a True Value, Jimmy Holmes Mens Store, Bank, and many small businesses. This mail was for many years the shopping center for Aurora, It is located on the northwest side of Aurora farther north on that street for several years was the two largest car dealers in Aurora. Ed Fanning Chev and Kane Ford. Aurora like many cities has seen the demise of the shopping centers over the last 20 years

Ace Hardware is still there

I wonder if the ACE Hardware next to it was the old Sears Auto center?

It is now august 2023 and it’s still sitting there empty….
I lived in Naperville and loved going to Fox Valley Mall
Sears used to be downtown Aurora back n the 50s before buying this building I believe!!
Yes it was at the corner of Downer and Broadway. There's a parking lot there now
Very cool video I love this kind of stuff!
Which street is this store located?
It's on Lake Street in Aurora

I remember going to my local Bon Ton in PA when I was a kid.
I don't know how there can be so many self storage places. Maybe it's because they're cheap to run, very few employees needed.
This building has been sitting unused for four years!
A year ago was a covid vaccination site
Another storage facility!!! One more penny in the jar.
I thought you found a secret way to get inside
The KFC in LaSalle IL burned up. You should cover it
Yes I am aware of it however I don't know how much longer the building will stand because I think the city will probably make them demolish it
