- Fox Valley mall was built in 1975 and serves the Aurora and Naperville area. Despite the other powerhouse malls in the area like Oakbrook Center, Fashion Outlets of Aurora and Yorktown Center, the mall is doing quite well.

Wow, my mall. Been there many times of course. You Must have did this in 2018. Such a shame about Sears and Carson's. The McDonald's is closed now. That renovation is about done. Looks cool now.

@@alexvargas9575 uh yeah, unfortunately they closed McDonald’s, which is quite weird, it usually had a chunk of people waiting in line to get food there.
I have a lot of fun memories at this mall. I still live in Aurora and I come there occasionally. I remember my parents taking me to this mall all the time when I was little. The mall used to have 2 children’s climbing places and one time my mom had to climb up to get me down because I was too scared to go down. Just recently, I saw a concert at The Piazza which is located right near the mall. I went to see Lost 80s Live there.
Back in the 80s they had this large costume shop called Center Stage...kind of like Spirit of Halloween all year round & the Kroch's & Brentano's bookstore seemed so huge. It was pretty sweet back in the day.
Haha man I was fascinated with Center Stage as a kid. That’s going way back. Another favorite was Sam goody and Suncoast video.

Center Stage was awesome! They had incredible costumes for sale, stage makeup, props, and I remember they had movie stills in the back somewhere. I used to spend time there whenever I could.

Awww, my mall. Grew up going to this mall, and I remember all the different decorations and stores. Always went to Toys R Us afterward! I was born in 78, so this mall is just a bit older than me
Sadly the McDonald's closed down, probably because they already have a location right outside the mall parking lot on the east side

They also took down the Taco Bell and KFC from what I’ve heard from my older brother who went there.

I want to film this place once the Coronavirus ends because this is a amazing mall. One of my favorites. The carousel looks like the one at Charlestowne mall.
I so thought the same thing about that carousel. It could be the one that was at Charlestowne. You never know. Highly recommend you visit especially after the renovation is complete.
Urbex- A Peak Inside I have visited it but it was also before I started filming. I like the renovation. I also heard that they did something similar at hawthorn mall.

@@retailadventures6 Hope the keep the carousel for a long term because it is definitely is a symbol of prosperity for the mall.

It’s still quite a beautiful mall even in 2020.

Brings back memories! I lived right across the street from 2003-2006! I lived at legacy at fox valley townhomes throughout my middle school years

This mall is my favorite mall, I enjoyed my time with my friends at this mall.

@@UrbexAPeakInside I'm currently in this mall as I make this reply and it was quite busy and they have renovated their center court with a tree house and it looks nice.
The "Center Park" addition is complete! Now that the place has reopened, I was thinking of taking a trip to film the mall (as well as Stratford).

Earlier this year they tore down the Sears and started building rental apartments instead. As of a couple of months ago they have also torn down the Carsons too.

Thanks. It was actually fun doing that one. Wasn't sure how I was gonna do the format. It took a while to understand everything because it didn't look like I could ever make the mall seem exciting.
Great times there long ago, we used to go to the Greek restaurant in the food court and drink pitchers of beer and eat Gyros. 👍

Glad you got to this mall since I’ve been recommending to see this mall as a Non Dying mall. Also another mall I mentioned that is non dying is South Lake Mall in Merrilville Indiana. Also Brookfield Square in Milwaukee is Non dying.
Brookfield square is a good choice hoping to do that one when everything opens up again.
Urbex- A Peak Inside Brookfield Square is another childhood mall for me. I also went there the most during high school since I wasn’t exactly allowed to go to Northridge myself in the late 90s when it was getting dangerous with crime and such.
brookfield square keeps adding things to that area, thats a good mall to do for non dying.
@@MetalPete_the_metalfan Brookfield Sqaure is alos my childhood mall as well. While it's by no means dying the food court was half vacant last time I was there. Hopefully that will change in the future. But I think the loss of Boston Store really hurt. It's too bad Van Maur already built down the road it could have gone in there.
The biggest ice skating rink like the one you showed in this video is actually at Stratford Square mall.

I remember when it opened, going to the mall was considered such a big deal. I agree with you on the trees. On the "basement" lever they had a few shops, a hobby store and a Tinder Box I believe. Along with a small three tier fountain I wish they kept. They converted it to a planter, though it looks like even that is gone now too.
I still have something from the hobby store. and don't forget Record Town right off the food court. I remember it being up a slight inclined ramp.
I was there back in the summer of 2018. I thought it was nice.
I go to this mall all the time for a massage, the Sears portion is gone now the owners tore that half down
It was an amazing Mall in the 90s
From a couple of older videos from that time period and definitely was more lively.
I love the round1 there, i wasn’t interested in the games there but i found rhythm games which i was interested in. I played Wacca, sdvx, groove coaster. Hope they add maimai and chunithm one day.
My family lives in Aurora And we've been going to foxvalley mall since 2005 when I was 3 But me and my mom moved out of Iraq Illinois in 2010 Is but my family still lives in Aurora.
Something that not a lot of people see when in the mall is that it's slowly been leaning on pop culture / "geek"-based clientele and stores (once again, things like Hot Topic, Spencer's, the TooCool (Sanrio/anime store), and the Round 1), to the point where they actually have an "anime wall" next to one store. Expect that to be brought up if I ever make a video of it :P

I live in Naperville. Personally I prefer shopping experience in downtown Naperville over this place. Fox Valley is too bland for me. Well... they do have Round 1, a huge arcade Game Center.
I’ve never had any interest in visiting any stores in downtown Naperville the few times ive been there.
