Your video brings back a ton of memories. I grew up in Naperville and this was the mall we went to his kids. I see some of the stores like Kay's Jewelers and things remembered are still there. When we went there to fool around that's when the ramps were still there that we could run up and down. As young teens we would always try to get the attention of boys. We were never shopping just looking and then stopping downstairs to eat in the basement food court. There was never a time when the mall was empty like this. Most of the time it either had people walking or people shopping. After I had moved away and been to college my parents use the mall for just walking indoors in a safe area. I'm now in my 50s and don't live near Aurora anymore. This is a great look back and I appreciate you and your videos. Thanks for sharing

Given how prosperous the Naperville/Aurora area is I’m surprised someone like Von Maur hasn’t kicked the tires of that old Carson’s.

I lived there when there was a Marshall Fields and a Lord &Taylor, I guess around 93. I worked at the Chi-Chi's in the perimeter of the mall. Whenever we did doubles my friend Jen and I would go spend all the money we made at lunch on our break. It was a nice mall and absolutely packed with people.

I’ve been to that mall three times now and this is one of my top favorite malls in Illinois ever!

It's possible that the furniture liquidation store is there on a short-term lease while mall management tries to find a better tenant. Stores of that sort don't require much in terms of fixtures and are willing to sign leases for short periods of time.

My comment doesn’t look like it worked on my main channel so posting it with this account I really like this mall, it’s not a dead mall and I think the redevelopment of the anchor will help. Also I heard that the hawthorn mall in Vernon Hills is starting to get worse and I would keep a eye on that mall also.

This is one nice mall. Love that it has an arcade and a good size one.The carousel is really nice.

It's nice to see that the mall is still doing relatively well but it makes me sad at the same time. Yeah, I'm old... and remember before JCPenney and Lord & Taylor even opened. Then when I got a little older, but not driving yet, taking the bus out there from home near West Plaza. Spent lots of time exploring different stores back then.

I love that mall but I just can't walk it like I used to do when I was younger. I appreciate you making
these videos so I can see what is there and enjoy the memories I have. Thank you for all you
do. I only live a couple of miles from this mall. I have pictures of my great granddaughters
on that carousel. Thanks again. 👍😊

So nice to see Fox Valley! Hoping the apartments revitalize the space. Looks like it's doing much better than Stratford Square.

I think Fox Valley holds its own is because it draws from the rural areas to the south and west. Since Peru Mall is pretty much dead, Fox Valley is the go to now for people of LaSalle County. Stratford has too much competition.

Thanks so much for doing this! This is my closest mall and I haven’t stepped foot in there in like a year due to Covid and what not. Looks like it’s in better shape than Stratford. Agree I wish a better tenant was there in place for the old Carson’s. Can’t wait for your Yorktown video. Thanks again!

Hey, if you go back to this mall, could you see if the handpainted tiles are still in front of the restrooms on the bottom level, by the food court? I painted one in 4th grade while living in Plainfield and the mall people that came to the school said they would be there as long as the mall was standing. Mine has 2 horses in it. I love your channel, brings back so many midwest kid memories. I live in colorado now and haven't been back in about 20 years. Thank you!

I've never been to this mall, but it looks happier than the one that's closest to me! I'm also surprised how this mall still has the carousel, as the one closest to me doesn't have a carousel anymore...

At least they have a variety of stores at Fox Valley Mall while Hawthorn in the Paul Simon lyric is slip-slidden away.

Am I going crazy, or did they knock down the part of the mall that was sears?? Wow! I am turning 29 this year, I grew up in Bolingbrook, this mall defined my childhood. Every Monday as a kid, my dad would take the entire family to the mall to shop at Sears and get snacks at the Auntie Anne's. Then when I got to high school, me and my friends would ditch school to go mess around at Spencer's and Hot Topic. When I started college I moved to New York City and have lived here since, really breaks my heart to see how much has changed. One of my favorite memories was in 2009 I was still in high school and I went with my best friend to go see some of the cast of Twlight that had a meet and greet at the mall, it was PACKED!!!!! Will never forget it.

I am an idiot, guess I wasn't listening and see that you confirmed the Sears wing was torn down. Wow. I'm speechless. So many great beautiful memories I have of my family's Monday Sears visits 😢

I do hope this mall can lure Von Maur, from Charlestowne. Don't know why they want to stay there, and hadn't considered moving here. Also interesting there's a comedy club at this mall, which is something I definitely wouldn't guess Fox Valley had!

Another proposal has been made for Charlestowne. Hopefully they mean it this time. Von Maur owns their building, but why dont they buy the Carson's land down here at Fox Valley to lure more upscale crowds. Fox Valley is doing ok at best, but it could do better.
