Hi there, check your fuel pump as the filter should have been placed before it and not after it so it probably got a lot of the junk. I would flush the fuel lines and clear the reservoir.
The gearbox cover seems correct for the BB6 gearbox. The gasket was probably leaking so they did an ugly seal on it.
Thanks! I just went to the car and did that as you suggested. that was a good idea, I would show what i did on the next video.
the BB6 is the right one that goes on the XL5? (I guess this engine is from a 305)
Ah yes it is not the original xl3s but an xl5 engine.. after 75 différent gearbox bb8 but if I am correct only double gearbox linkage for xl5s engine so this looks correct to me
also the xl3 wasn't original here since it's a 204 initially :)
I see that the bb8 have a different cover, number 250171. the one on this cab looks from the BB6, which a rod end and not a ball insert (I hope I'm using understandable terms..)
Oh this a one of a kind rebuild! How is the engine mounted on the bottom? The interior is from a 304 but you have a gear lever at the steering wheel and not on the floor which changes the whole mechanism at the gearbox…
The Bosch spark plugs are correct for XL5, you can run BP6EFS from NGK as well…
@@tiesto1102 yeah I guess that on the 90s the 305 was very common here in oppose to 204 or 304 cab which were only imported personally by a few people.
I havent checked how the engine is mounted yet
But the distributor is from a 504/404 which have a different advanced timing... so the spark plugs are not the only issue.
For the lever - i think it is just as to replace the cover and put linkage with the correct length.
