- Here are the causes I have seen when a vehicle shakes when it is accelerating but not when coasting.

A vibration that occurs only under acceleration is most likely a drivetrain issue, such as a bad CV axel or U-Joint.
Most Common Causes
CV Axel (Often Makes Ticking Noise)
Driveshaft U-Joint
Unbalanced Tire or Bad Rim
Loose Lug Nuts
Motor Mount
Transmission Mount
Less Common Causes
Engine Problem (usually with get code)
Transmission Problem (usually with get code)

I just took my 2018 Toyota Corolla LE into DiscountTire last week for a vibration under acceleration that was getting worse over 60mph, the technician showed me how the tire was dancing and shaking when he set it up on the wheel balancing machine. Wheel rim was bent/damaged.
Great video just to get me to thinking. Just happened to me. The day before. I went & got an oil change/tire rotation. So on my way home from work the next day. I'm feeling all types of vibration from my rear. Upoon further investigation. Found 4/5 lugs nuts loose. The most disappointing thing. The tire shop that did my service took no accountability for their error. This could have been critical or fatal to me and others. I believe in traveling by grace, and I was fortunate to even make it home.

Don’t forget the torque converter. There’s at least one vehicle out there known for a sudden around 55MPH which goes away when you slow down or accelerate out of it. Can’t recall if it was a Sienna or a Caravan but if you didn’t get the applicable service bulletin applied it was inevitable that your torque converter would fail that way.
There is almost always a reason why a vehicle sits in a used car parking lot. One item they didn't want to fix. You just have to find that reason.

Discovered that the shaking while accelerating in my 09 impala is from the front bushings in both the control arms being 80% bluetooth LOL
My 13 Silverado jerks hard when i put it in drive and also most recently it shudders when im reach 25-30 mph. I just had motor mounts replaced. So im not sure where to look. Transmission shifts fine no hard jerks or anything.

My cv axle shows no sign of problem. Doesnt have free play pulling on it. No noise or clucking. No Oil leaking out . Nothing just shakeing speeding up and gets worse with speed. Viberation definatly feels like front driver control arm area. Is this a cv problem?
Im trying to figure out mine right now I have a 2009 chevy impala, I replaced an engine mount but didn't solve the issue. Im thinking my transmission mount is bad or something because the shaking is worse when I go up hill. I havn't changed my transmission fluid in 175k miles so Im gonna do that too

Mine only shakes when accelerating when it gets between 1800 and 2000 rpms. 2 mechanics so far tell me they do not know what it is. One thinks it's the torque converter. It's been getting worse for about a year. Does this sound like a torque converter issue? Its also worse when I accelerate slowly.

@@ravin6884 No not yet. I'm supposed to have a mechanic look at it this week. It could be a number of issues. Could be CV joints which is a lot cheaper than the torque converter.
If it is the torque converter, ask your mechanic how much they charge hourly. Replacing the torque converter is about an 8 or 9 hour job because the transmission needs to be disassembled and rebuilt in our Saturns. My mechanic charges $100 an hour and it's about a $150 part.
My car shakes under load/acceleration but not when it's cruising.
I had my CVs redone but it still has the same symptoms.
What could be the cause? Engine mounts don't look worn.

@@jessicajones119 consider checking your ignition coils or spark plugs. It turns out that's what the issue was for me all along.
When is idling it doesn't misfire, or when I'm driving slowly. Only at high speeds under load.
I took our 2010 Sonata to Discount tire to get road force balance done they checked for separation as well. Car still shakes after balance was done and tires are fairly brand new with only about 3000 miles on them. Any clue on what else it could be? Shaking is felt driving at normal speeds steering wheel shakes. Lug nuts are brand new as well. Help???
I have a grinding noise when I'm getting up to speed on a 35mph area
will a bad front differential on an AWD cause this. I had the CV axle replaced but still vibrates on acceleration, not on coasting.
Anytime I accelerate fast or just from a complete stop my right side front end by the wheel sounds like it’s grabbing and shoaking the whole car on that side only underneath once I let off the gas it stops and once I’m up to speed cruising it stops as well.
If anyone knows what this could be let me know it’s a loud shaking thumping sound and shakes the car bad

My mustang does this it won't accelerate fully shakes makes a load vacuume sucking noise then hits the rest of the rpms slowly it started on the highway last month 3rd and 4th gear now it does it in all gears but 1... its in the shop now they're looking at it on Monday here at Ford. NO clue what this could be
My car engine shakes some times when driving at 40 mph but stops when I let go the gas pedal or if I accelerate. But some times it does it again at a different speed like 65mph 70, or 75. So I’m trying to figure out what are the causes. Thanks
mines around 55-65 and stops when i do the same as you stated above been over a year with no answers after bringing it to be diagnosed several times, after doing my own research it hurts to say but its most likely the torque converter, only a transmission specialist would be able to diagnose it unless a code pops up on the scanner tool

My 2006 HONDA CRV shakes when lightly on the acceleration and won't stop shaking until I floor it or come off the acceleration entirely. Feels like my whole cabin is vibrating 📳 like when you're on a rough patch of road
