Best breakdown on the web...I have been searching for a problem for a few months now...and this breakdown lead me straight to the issue..U joints in the driveshaft...👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is not only one of the best video on mechanics but also one of best explanation video I have seen in a looong while. Thank you to the entire team behind this video.
I love the way she brakes everything down for us all she is the 1st person in woman to save my car I. I'm 31 I have had over 100 outta my life time it's a long story but thanks for this video
@@1AAuto I have a 2012 and a 2013 ford edge and both vibrate on acceleration around 30 to 45 mph. not highway speed. Could this be the same thing? the 2013 vibrates the steering wheel the 2012 you can feel it but doesn't shake the wheel
I had the same problem on my 2015 highlander, whenever I step on the acceleration pedal the front of the car shakes, when I left my foot off the acceleration pedal the vibration is gone. I definitely check the CV Axle on my car. Thx for sharing the video.

Depends on how old the car is, or the last time you changed trans fluid. The torque converter will shutter and not lock up properly. You need to change trans fluid and maybe add a friction modifier to the trans and it will go away. I had checked everything she talked about here and couldn’t figure it out until a tech told me to change the trans fluid and it stopped. It felt like you were running over rumble strips.
Wow I’m glad I found this video, my car has the exact symptoms. The car still shakes like crazy even after I replaced all the bushing and mounts, when actually it’s just the damn axle clip that popped out.
Ahh! Thanks! I finally have something to look into!! I ruled out the cv shafts, as I'm used to the joints getting noisy and eventually tugging the steering wheel. When I got my 2010 mazda3, the engine was nearly falling out, all of the mounts were shot. I bet the axle pulled out and damaged or lost the clip. I'll be back with my findings!
Have an 88 sentra. Mine seems more idle related. Usually when first started it's ok, although sometimes idle is rough. After a few minutes of driving(warm or cold), it'll start to randomly shake, like it's sputtering, but it's worse when excelerating from a stop. On the highway around 50 it isn't bad. If it sits for a while, after you start driving, it's ok for a mile or so, then starts shaking again.
Got a vibration sound more of a humming noise near the driver foot area when lightly acclerating. The humming vibration is strongest with light accleration, less with higher speed of 40+. Of course the cold start are really strong. 220k miles Sienna 2009
My pickup Chevy Colorado 2018 had a vibration at 50 + mph...well going thru every posible scenario....a body shop guy suggested me to do a check on the chassis...sure enough the truck had a bad wreck and chassis was out of whack just a bit but caused major vibration at high speed....cost me 200 dollars to correct the problem now i am loving and enjoying my truck👍❤
Great vid, quick, clear, and good visual demonstrations 👍🤘 only thing that would make this vid even better would be additional footage of the other issues mentioned besides the actual fault found, for supplementary guidance.
Didn’t see any signs of failure but took a chance on the drivers side drive axel as I did recently hit a curb hard. Did not fix the vibration in the front end. Will be checking the wheel bearings in the morning but after that is passenger cv axle, so close.
I replaced both the struts AND half-shafts on my 03' Grand Am GT; But I have a metalic, grating, grinding noise coming from the driver's side. I believe it's the strut-mount. It's possible I didn't tighten that middle securing nut when I installed the spring over the new strut.
Great mechanic, I've recently replaced shaft crafts and CV joints on my car, the only unsettling part is when I do a 90 degree turn that's when I hear this worrying sound like an old steal being bent. I'm clueless with cars, it vould be nothing but dang its uncomfortable especially when one bought a used old model car.
Thanks For Posting THIS Video, I Now Believe This is What's Wrong With My Lexus ES 350 Because Everything has been Changed Can't Imagine What Else It Could be BUT This Right here..
wow forsure solved my problem can’t wait to get home, i kept researching and coming to my transaxle but it looked ok i never knew it could slip out like that, im 1000% sure this is my problem. i also seen a fluid that didn’t look like grease on the boot & was wondering where it came from since boot had no tear. once again thanks superwoman lol😂❤️
you ma'am are awesome I work on cars a little but wish I could learn from you I am learning from the video too I got a 2012 4cyl buick lacrosse 66,000 miles had it 5 yrs haven't had any troubles but a camshaft sensor right now I can be driving and it will do a little jump when I slow down I really can't tell if somethings going on cause it has auto stop so when you slow way down almost to a stop it feels like the auto stop. could it be spark plugs since they haven't been changed wanna nip that in the bud before it turns into something big
I think my motor mount is broken! My steering wheel shakes when i get over 60 mph so i have to turn my steering wheel a certain way to prevent the noise… also when i brake on reaction my steering wheel shakes uncontrollably… is that the problem?
What would happen if clip was in Transmission? I was sideswiped and had to have repairs--strut, wheel, body work on passenger side. Vehicle ran great for 6 months then the axle dislodged (I believe from transmission); they said it must have been knocked slightly loose by the accident and then missed by mechanics and insurance adjuster. Anyways, there has been a slight vibration on both pedals and floor board every since the made the axle repairs. Took it back later and they replaced tie rods and steering column, but it barely helped with the vibration...
This is exactly what my 2002 Ford Focus zx3 hatchback is doing. CV axle was horrible for me to repair. Need muscles and long arms to get it in and out of transmission. Had a horrible time and I ruined first CV axle I bought and had to buy a second.😢
I have a very similar problem on my nissan micra 2007. The car is shaking when the rpm is between 1000-1500.when the rpm is more or less than that it doesn't shake.what is the problem in your opinion and please explain me why it vibrates only at this range of rpm? Thank you very much
Hi Sue. Is there a clip on the front passenger side axle. I replaced it but didn’t see a clip and now when I go over bumps I hear a popping noise and when I go on sharp turns. ‘03 Honda Element. I checked and it seems there about 3mm play between the transmission and axle. I pushed it back in but keeps coming out slightly. I feel a vibration when I go over 80. Thanks for the great videos. You make it seem so easy lol
My car starts to shake when I’m going 60 or faster. I had the same problem when I have a ford escape and my cv axle was completely broken in two pieces. It did end up failing inspection due to front end play.. of course during covid when everything was shut down.
I have a 2011 GMC Terrain 3.0 AWD. While in Park, I can press on the gas and the car noticeably vibrates at 1500-2000 rpm, then smooths out above 2000 rpm. Any guesses!
What's normal play for where the inner axle connects to the transmission? Was the axle toast and that's why the whole thing was replaced and not just the clip?
My drivers side tire makes so much noise when I’m driving. I don’t know if it’s a bad hub/wheel bearing or if my tire is too big for my wheel well. My passenger tire does rub against the wheel well if I make a left turn. If I go past 65 70 mph my car starts to shake. It’s really bad when it’s either windy or if I’m being a semi truck.
Very valuable information. I tried to check my car, but unfortunately, I couldn't find the problem. I suffer from a body vibration only at a speed of 20 km / h and it disappears. Hyundai Sonata 2016
Got bmw 120d with steering wheel wobble. Had front wheels balance and bearing ok and coils good hard to lift the car myself coz bmw lift points lol. Can back wheels make your car wobble or front disks it’s at low speed
Sue...how about a vibration that you feel in gas pedal and seat and dashboard that is intense at cold start but lessens (but still annoying) after warmed up? Vibration is better after 2nd or 3rd start while running errands. Motor mounts already replaced.
Wow, you said see how my steering wheel didn't shake, so it's not a wheel. I been watching all night last night on shaking stuff, today just changed my tyres to balanced one's and no more shake
Holy crap Sue that's awesome! I have never seen this called out before. I have an observation... at 3:52 you can see a harmonic ballast mounted mid-shaft on that axle. In all my years (30+) of owning Mazdas, the newer ones have had these on the axles from the factory. As the miles pile on I eventually need new axles, yet they seem to never come with that harmonic ballast. Any thoughts on this? I just wonder if the foreign reman factories are tossing the ballast during axle rebuilds instead of repurposing them. I have an odd warble in my Mazda 6 in 1st gear (V6 manual) acceleration and I've always wondered if this is the cause. The axle is not pulling from the transaxle as you've shown here. Again, thanks for the great video!!

Great video!! Thank you!
you reckon this is possible on a 2019 Accord? mine does the same vibration at highway speeds
Awesome video!!
Vibrations can be very very difficult to diagnose correctly. Customer lucked out that it was as simple as a worn out c clip on the axle.
Mine is upon starting the car and release the brakes it already vibrates. What could be its issue. Thanks
How much to send my 1985 Chrysler LaBaron to you for inspection? I drove it 39 miles (63km) and now it shakes pretty bad. I changed an axle already
