There's so much flowing fabric and movement. Technique is easier to see in bell or pancake tutus but romantic ones (like the ones used in Giselle usually) definitely are my favorite. So gorgeous.
How can it be noticed? Sorry if that may be a stupid question, I love ballet, but I'm not an expert. Are soft pointe shoes a bad thing? But if the answer is yes, she still did an amazing and outstanding job. 😲
Sarah Möller I'm also not an expert lol but there's a thick block of material inside the top of the shoes (the part they stand on when they go up on their toes), so a soft pointe shoe means it's worn down and it could damage her feet or mess up the dance and she could injure herself. Ik most ballet dancers (and especially dancers at the royal ballet) go through up to like 4 pairs just per show bc they wear down so quickly
Sarah Möller softer the pointe shoes become, bigger the strength and effort your feet will do. Pointe shoes need to be smashed and broken a bit before dancing, as they come really really hard when they are new and you can’t dance with them, but the moment they become too soft, you can easily get injured. You can tell how soft a pointe shoe is seeing the bends and angles the foot and ankle do during dancing, but in my opinion her shoes don’t look too soft.

it’s almost like natalia osipova is the best character for any role she’s put to, in my opinion she’s the best giselle, best kitri, etc, her acting is what sets her aside from any other prima of her generation. There’s no one that can ever live up to her she’s truly created history as one of the best ballerinas to have ever existed
Osipova’s only setback that I’ve noticed in several performances is sacrificing clean technique for jumping height, turning speed, an elevated acting performance etc. With that said, she’s one of the most captivating dancers to watch.

She is just so, so good in this role! Everything. Technique, placement, feet, extension, musicality, beauty, and soul. Being there in the audience to watch would be ideal. Failing that, I'm so glad for RUclips. I can re- watch the variations and look at only a single element, like placement. Then I can go back and look at something else. One of my favorite elements in this video is the staging. The "sups" (dancers in the background) add so much to the energy and believability of the story. I think they are generally highly underappreciated by some ballet audiences (but let's be frank: when Osipova is dancing, it's almost impossible not to watch her). For me, more than anyone -- even the principals -- the sups are what makes a story ballet like Giselle come alive. It's all about the genuine-looking emotion behind their facial expressions, the super- subtle but effective way they call attention to the ballerina as she moves through their field of vision, and more simply, their commitment to their roles, no matter how small. The fact is that every single dancer in this "background" cast could credibly dance Giselle's principal roles anywhere in the world. Yet instead of sulking and "phoning it in," the background dancers fully commit to their supporting roles. That, dance friends, is professionalism.
I know this is like 5 years old, but it still remains one of my favorite videos on RUclips. I have been dancing since I was 3 and I aspire to be a professional dancer like Natalia. I know I will never be as good as her, but she is such an inspiration and she makes me feel like I may be able to be a professional in the future. ❤️❤️
Her dancing is off the hook, next level. If possible, her acting of this dance is on par and even better. Absolutely the best I've ever seen. Out of all the parts she had played, Giselle is her best, in my opinion.

I still replay this every time I'm mad, sad, or happy. This has become my comfort art form.
Angel last mission love bring me here.. this is soo good!!
Me too
i’ve rewatched this video six times in a row now and each time i watch it, the more amazed i am by her footwork my god!!!!
i've never seen so much grace in my whole life
This is by far my favorite version of this dance. Just the beautiful mix of grace and childness of the dancer is just so amazing 👏👏👏
The music is really beautiful too!
She really looks like a princess to me😍
She is not a Princess...she is a peasant girl.
É impossível não perder o fôlego com Natália!! 🥹
A beleza do ballet! Toca a alma
Her dancing is off the hook, next level. If possible, her acting of this dance is on par and even better. Absolutely the best I've ever seen. Out of all the parts she had played, Giselle is her best, in my opinion.
She is smileing thru pain 🥺
I love her performance she is a hard working balerina 😀♥️💓🥰
