You're right! Ashley Bouder has been a principal (top rank) at New York City Ballet (one of the top companies worldwide) since 2005 and a star in the world of ballet. She has a line of leotards, over 75k followers on Instagram, runs her own company called the Ashley Bouder Project, and she is a resident fellow at New York University.
This dance brings such a smile to my face. It reminds me of when I used to do ballet... it gives me a nostalgic mixture of joy and sadness. Even though I don't dance anymore, ballet still is and always will be a part of me. This is a beautiful piece.
This is by far the best and liveliest rendition I've come across. Absolutely stunning. Each dancer performed wonderfully, especially the soloist. Every tiny move, every facial expression, simply everything was executed with such grace and beauty.
Ashley Bouder is just exquisitie. So expressive. And the corps is beautiful, costumes are beautiful, set is beautiful. This is what we want to see in the holidays. Visual sumptuousness and beautiful dancing. Color! Lights! Music! Fantastic.
This made me really happy today. Just wanted to share that. The music, the dancers, choreography, costumes, nostalgia of seeing this often when I was little... ❤️. I smiled while watching it.
Every time I listen to this particular performance, I can't help but realize: there's still goodness and beauty in the world regardless of the challenges of daily life! 5:53 Pick myself up, dust myself off, and get back into the game!
I know what you mean. I remember sitting in the front row. And I was amazed seeing the orchestra pit up close. The first instrument I could easily see was the harp
It’s really only noticeable to dancers. I love it! Balanchine dancers move faster, they hold their hands differently, what some call a claw, and he emphasized the lines your body makes and what audiences see. For instance if I’m posed with my right foot forward my neck should be turned slightly so that my left cheek is front and center to the audience. I guess a easier explanation in 1 word is Extra! Everything is emphasized. I think it beautiful.
James Jackson you must dance! Thank you! I appreciate a more “layman’s terms” answer than a copy and pasted definition (see comment above) otherwise I would have just googled it myself! 😂
Clarissa Leung yeah, That’s a great answer, however your first sentence is wrong! If you have to copy/paste don’t add anything unless you are knowledgeable. The Balanchine technique is what we are taught to dance Balanchine Style! And you actually contradicted your own 1st sentence by explaining the “techniques” we learn to dance Balanchine “style”. Not trying to be rude but dancing is my life and my work.
So dainty and charming, like little flowers🌸 You'd never think behind such seemingly effortless grace, years of dedication, practice, precision, blood, sweat, tears has gone into producing such perfection 🩰

The lead girl dances so beautiful she made me smile everytime she came up, love this
BREATHTAKING!!!!! Every time l see "Waltz Of The Flowers" I remember the ballet lessons l asked for from toddlerhood to my teens that l was never allowed to have. This makes my dreams come true because when l watch this, l am her, on stage, the 17-year-old dancing queen from the 70's & dancing this is my crowning achievement!! For those who could & for those of us that danced in our hearts, this is Our Song!! 🎄💖🇨🇦☘️
😍 Yes! 🩰 Indeed it is! 🥰
What makes this video very special is that everyone is very happy and proud to participate in this production. I like this choreography a lot.
The lead for this dance was absolutely phenomenal. I truly believe she has a future in ballet
She has been dancing professionally for years!!! She's already quite the prima ballerina :]

You're right! Ashley Bouder has been a principal (top rank) at New York City Ballet (one of the top companies worldwide) since 2005 and a star in the world of ballet. She has a line of leotards, over 75k followers on Instagram, runs her own company called the Ashley Bouder Project, and she is a resident fellow at New York University.
she already does! she’s a principal or a soloist (not sure which one) with new york city ballet
This dance brings such a smile to my face. It reminds me of when I used to do ballet... it gives me a nostalgic mixture of joy and sadness. Even though I don't dance anymore, ballet still is and always will be a part of me. This is a beautiful piece.
absolutely my sentiment. Cannot stop smiling when I watch this. When I lived in Ukraine I went all over the country watching ballet.
This is just crazy how amazing these dancers are! Even the ones in the back had great character!
Everything. Absolutely everything is total perfection. Scenery, costumes, music, performance…..simply beautiful.
simply one of the most mesmerizingly beautiful displays of athleticism one is ever likely to behold
🥰❤❤❤ Magnifique .
this background set, these dresses, the movements, the music, those cute kids back there... truly a fairy tale 😍💜
Ballet is such a gorgeous art, I love everything about it
This is by far the best and liveliest rendition I've come across. Absolutely stunning. Each dancer performed wonderfully, especially the soloist. Every tiny move, every facial expression, simply everything was executed with such grace and beauty.
I saw the full ballet at Lincoln Center when I was 8. Still love the music and one of my favorite memories 54 years later.
Ashley Bouder is just stunning. The Corp is absolutely amazing as well. This was such a pleasure to watch!!
Ashley Bouder is just exquisitie. So expressive. And the corps is beautiful, costumes are beautiful, set is beautiful. This is what we want to see in the holidays. Visual sumptuousness and beautiful dancing. Color! Lights! Music! Fantastic.
Doesn’t anyone else want to be the kids in the back eating food. Lmao
I pretty sure that's fake food.....
Yeah, im a dancer and in stage there’s no real food😅😅
David J. Azcorra Cámara i think if they would be real food they wouldn’t be allowed to eat it
At least I would allow it😂 (everyone is starving in there😅)

I’m in love with the costumes, everything
This is just a wonderfully organic coreography, design and a great, sophicticated lead dancer.
This is really a five star performance.
E me emociono sempre 😍
No words can describe the amount of abundant joy i feel when listening to nutcracker❤❤😭😭😭
This made me really happy today. Just wanted to share that. The music, the dancers, choreography, costumes, nostalgia of seeing this often when I was little... ❤️. I smiled while watching it.
The Dew Drop Fairy was absolutely amazing! She was so light on her toes/feet. Wow!! Brava!
Every time I listen to this particular performance, I can't help but realize: there's still goodness and beauty in the world regardless of the challenges of daily life! 5:53 Pick myself up, dust myself off, and get back into the game!
None other could be more beautiful than this! Thé waltz of the Flowers is the most beautiful of all flowers!
I remember when I went to see the Nutcracker. Thanks 😊The most impressive thing was seeing the orchestra play live.👏🏻😃👍🏻
I know what you mean. I remember sitting in the front row. And I was amazed seeing the orchestra pit up close. The first instrument I could easily see was the harp
God their dewdrop here is such a beautiful dancer. Her movements are so athletic but so graceful at the same time
Ashley Bouder. One of the best ballet dancers in the world

The dewdrop girl’s attitude turns are ✨amazing✨
Beautiful choreography. Excellent dancers.
I’m not the biggest fan of Balanchine’s technique but I gotta say Ashley Boulder did a great job here.
Can I ask you what the Balanchine technique is?
@@Morrigan998 i would like to know too please
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen ❤️
Wonderful Performance! Magnificent Actors!!!
So dainty and charming, like little flowers🌸 You'd never think behind such seemingly effortless grace, years of dedication, practice, precision, blood, sweat, tears has gone into producing such perfection 🩰
Hermosas. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤩🤩🤩🤩
Majestic music with beautiful choreography. This is what little ones see in all its glory, & decide 'I'm going to be a ballet dancer'.
I see the 'spectacle of beauty'
I cannot keep my legs still, the dancer within is instinctual!
The triangle, with the choreography, is such a delicate touch and so precious.
such beautiful words!! you're so right!
