I think Osipova is over the top and too explosive for ballet, she lacks finesse. On the other hand, Zakharova is very soft for Kitri. That's why Nela is perfect for the role and does the best performance

Osipova has the fire, technique, and speed, mesmerizing to watch, but she loses a bit of the artistry of the part. Nunez doesn’t have the speed or fire, but she has the upper body and port de bras for the part. You can really see the flamenco influence.
I would say Osipova showed off technique and speed where it wasnt necessary for the role whereas Nunez had the fire, passion and intensity. Her movements were strong.

All of them are fantastic dancers, with different styles and charming personalities. But for me the interpretative ability and the charisma of Marianela Nunez always add that something special that definetly conquers me.

It was so mesmerising to watch Marianela's perform. It had a certain flair, a elegant but cheeky vibe to the whole performance especially when she looks back and gives a flying kiss with that smile. Natalie spit fire with her moves, she looks she gave it all and she absolutely owned the whole stage, Svetlana was smooth, elegant and looked like she was flying on the stage.

Marianela is dancing while using the castañuelas, it is magnificent to see her dancing, and it looks like she's enjoying performing the part, she's indeed the best Kitri. Osipova is wonderful and revolutionized, but she looks too focused on the timing.
This is Osipova/Sarafanov at La Scala. It always makes me smile to watch the toreadors in the background, especially the dark- haired dancer third from the left. The are mesmerized by Osipova's stage presence just as we are, and I don't think it is entirely acting on their part!
Definitely prefer Nunez - embodies a feeling of flirtatious, charismatic energy. The music is energetic, but not out of control. Whoever did the filming for Osipova was off so bad. The way the camera whips around does a disservice to her dancing, makes her look flung around. Still, I feel the orchestration is a little too fast as well to really feel the character is conveying much. I love her energy, but her face is cheesing it up so bad, bless. As for Zakharova, she feels too pulled back from the character and something about her port de bras is awkward. Maybe I'm just not fan of the choreo, ahaha.

Osipova is all fire. Her "attack" is like she is shot out of a cannon. She is most like Plisetskaya. Osipova is incredible. Zakharova and-Nunez don't have the same "attack". Nunez does something so unique with her arms in the high, turning pors de bras - like whipped creaming whipping up to the air at fast speed! All are more than wonderful.
nunez for the win as she’s a lot sharper and her moves are very controlled than other Kitris while some others you can’t really tell what’s going willst nunez makes everything flow and makes it crystal clear to what’s going on
All are virtuosic. I fully expected Osipova to trample her competition since this was the role that made her, but by gosh! Whereas she was gravity-defying, Nunez was the only one that embodied the Gypsy spirit. Fiery and sultry and a power house! No quarrel w Zakharova’s skills, but all I saw there was Princess Kitri.
Marianela did this the best she had power and control and the first girl did amazing too but she rushed it and you couldn’t tell what she was doing in my opinion

They are all very good however Marianela Nunez's performance is by far my favorite. Not only her dance performance and ability, even the expression on her face make me enjoy her performance even more.
My heart belongs to Nela (I think I say that a lot), but they're all fantastic. Interesting to see just how different the choreography is---pique vs. tombe/inside pirouette on that first turn, whether the connecting step is pas de chat or grand pas de chat. You remember the big choreographic beats like those enormous sisonnes and the millions of sequential pirouettes at the end and want to think they define the variation ("Kitri's Act 1 variation"=enormous sisonnes) but even the two Russians have some interesting differences. Thanks for all of these! And loved Nela blowing a kiss to Basil---like you actually have time for extras in a variation that must feel like you've just been shot out of a canon!

No one does it like Natalia. I’ve watched many different ballerinas do this variation. Those bourrees are the quickest I’ve ever seen. Love this version but I wish the video quality was higher.

This Osipova version seems with Sarafanov at La Scala. I loved her early version with Vasiliev at Bolshoi. Her techniques and artistry at that time might not be as mature as La Scala version，but her energy，freshness and vitality was incomparable.
Natalia is light and airborne. Marianela is connected to the floor on pointe; she also has the most fun. Svetlana disappointed me for some indefinable reason, but she is of course a wonderful dancer. If I were Basilio I'd want to marry Marianela!
Truth be told, Maya Plisetskaya’s Kitri is my favorite. Her speed, technique and just sheer exuberance that comes through on even 60 year old footage is unequalled.
Of course each of them is an outstanding dancer! But when I look at Osipova I see Kitri who can dance, other girls for me are ballerinas who play Kitri. Osipova is so full of life!
Natalia for me! I just love her power and energy. As for Marianela, I LOVE her flair 1:26 and her firebird. For Svetlana, the camera quality did her no justice. Her other variations suit her much better than kitri. I still love her techniques tho. I adore all of them so much!
okay don't get me wrong, ALL of them are flawless and hve their own styles. but i keep coming back to natalia's performnace. it's like she's a firecracker, a controlled firecracker. she dances as if she's crazed but she's in enough control that her energy doesn't take over. wow she is really freakin good. like you think she's going to screw up with all her energy but no she delivers every time. geez
Osipova is Kitri. Her speed, ballon, elevation and joy make her the reigning Kitri of current dancers. I like Nunez, but there's no contest in my opinion. I don't like Zakharova at all in this role.

They are all very good however Marianela Nunez's performance is by far my favorite. Not only her dance performance and ability, even the expression on her face make me enjoy her performance even more.
Marianela is the embodiment of classical ballet. No doubt she is The Queen.

My heart belongs to Nela (I think I say that a lot), but they're all fantastic. Interesting to see just how different the choreography is---pique vs. tombe/inside pirouette on that first turn, whether the connecting step is pas de chat or grand pas de chat. You remember the big choreographic beats like those enormous sisonnes and the millions of sequential pirouettes at the end and want to think they define the variation ("Kitri's Act 1 variation"=enormous sisonnes) but even the two Russians have some interesting differences. Thanks for all of these! And loved Nela blowing a kiss to Basil---like you actually have time for extras in a variation that must feel like you've just been shot out of a canon!

No one does it like Natalia. I’ve watched many different ballerinas do this variation. Those bourrees are the quickest I’ve ever seen. Love this version but I wish the video quality was higher.

I personally prefer Nunez's delivery amongst the 3. The lines just seem cleaner and the energy is just right. This is one of her best.

This Osipova version seems with Sarafanov at La Scala. I loved her early version with Vasiliev at Bolshoi. Her techniques and artistry at that time might not be as mature as La Scala version，but her energy，freshness and vitality was incomparable.

Natalia is light and airborne. Marianela is connected to the floor on pointe; she also has the most fun. Svetlana disappointed me for some indefinable reason, but she is of course a wonderful dancer. If I were Basilio I'd want to marry Marianela!
Truth be told, Maya Plisetskaya’s Kitri is my favorite. Her speed, technique and just sheer exuberance that comes through on even 60 year old footage is unequalled.

She was during her era at Bolshoi, she was really fire and full of energy, in this one she's just trying to emulate her old self, not the same thing

Natalia for me! I just love her power and energy. As for Marianela, I LOVE her flair 1:26 and her firebird. For Svetlana, the camera quality did her no justice. Her other variations suit her much better than kitri. I still love her techniques tho. I adore all of them so much!
okay don't get me wrong, ALL of them are flawless and hve their own styles. but i keep coming back to natalia's performnace. it's like she's a firecracker, a controlled firecracker. she dances as if she's crazed but she's in enough control that her energy doesn't take over. wow she is really freakin good. like you think she's going to screw up with all her energy but no she delivers every time. geez

Definitely Osipova in this role tailor made for her.
Osipova is Kitri. Her speed, ballon, elevation and joy make her the reigning Kitri of current dancers. I like Nunez, but there's no contest in my opinion. I don't like Zakharova at all in this role.
