Doing further testing later on, I realized the propagules can't spread to every leave block. It seems there is some mechanism to stop them reaching every block. You can also bonemeal with a dispenser and harvest the propagule with a piston.
that "noooooooooooooooo" splash text is 100% a reference to the "jeb screams" meme from the mob votes. god i love these devs. always so in touch with their playerbase
A cool concept for dripleaf would be a tag called something like "Light_Entity" that would allow small/light creatures to stand on them; frogs, chicken, silverfish, endermite, ect. Would also allow mod creators for things like orgins to give player orgins tags so they could stand on it if it fit
I would love it if these had an insane hearing range for other players, like maybe 20-30 chunks or so? They could be really fun ways of calling your friends or a specific group on a large server with a lot of players.
Yes. Damn the ear-griefing implications, make the hearing range an optional gamerule. I'm trying to think of a simple solution to using it from above ground to below ground through like, a million blocks, but nothing comes to mind
@@jettthorp9444 I think checking for blocks and diminishing the distance by a certain amount for finding certain blocks/a certain amount of certain blocks might work in theory but I'm not sure how feasible it is from a resource efficiency viewpoint.
I had a feeling that all three were supposed to be played together. The crouching one sounds more like a bass so it makes sense that if you combine it, it would sound better.
The mangrove roots remind me a lot of wattle fences, it'd be nice to have a fence/wall variant of them. Especially since the packed mud like cob it's like building with wattle and daub.
I hope with the implementation of the propagules growing under leaves, that they add this to other trees too. Itd be nice to see apples growing beneath oak trees making orchards feasible, especially if we get more fruit.
Personally, what I think would be cooler, is if the copper horn simply played a single note, and the pitch of it is based on how much you're looking upwards. It could even play an alternate sound while sneaking still. That would allow players to make actual musical concerts.
i really hope they make it so that mud actually acts like mud in real life, where you could sink into it like quicksand , or maybe they could make a variant of mud called quickmud that looks like normal mud, and i hope they add quicksand too and goo blocks/liquid for the swamp (slimes spawn in the swamp) , it would add alot more to the dynamic of the game and the swamps
I honestly hated the horns because they had no special use but after hearing the song all together I absolutely fell in love with them. They should make it so you can redstone power the shrieker or make a new block might be better but the signal strength will determine the song on the horn and you can put them all together to make a door bell of sorts
i'd like an in-game device that records note block music over a certain radius of blocks, which converts it into a custom disc and as well as the ability to combine two discs together, to create one longer song this could be done within the same block that records the music
Damn, the idea with horns is so cool. It's like a little Easter egg And the addition of seed templates in bedrock is the best. I've been waiting for that since forever
The root block is even more amazing then the future you talked about. Ilmango talked about it in his video, it's the second fullblock that is spawnproof. The other one is bedrock. So it's being breakable (well...) and place able it's make it a unique one in that sense. that is atleast how I understood it when I watched his video
Considering frogs are amphibians that need to rehydrate, I really feel that Minecraft frogs should have the dehydration tag as dolphins and axolotls do. They could probably make it take longer to affect them, but it would be appropriate. It would also help to keep them near lily pads and dripleaf plants so that those tags were actually more effective.
The problem is, many of these "frogs" are really acting as toads, which don't really need bodies of water and sometimes live in shockingly arid locals. Plus it would kill the froglights thing, cause no water in the nether :)
Being able to use the horns to call some sort of mob like the Allay or maybe even goats would be a nice feature. Maybe it can be used to get goats to follow you like a herd instead of using food like we do with other mobs. I think that would be a cool feature for the horns.
I'm wondering if the horn could be used to trigger an event in the Ancient Cities? After all, that would definitely trigger Skulk Sensors. Maybe it does something worth the risk of the Warden
I can imagine the frogs and drip leaves used for a random redstone signal creations. Also the waterlogged mangrove roots: Ilmango already made a cobblestone farm out of it using the games mechanic.
Those world seed options were already in pocket edition for a year or two. There was a few different ones a couple updates ago, and the ones that stayed there in the list changed a little bit. Villages moved around a bit and things like that
I was about to say this exact thing. Maybe he meant they were re-added, but really they’ve been a thing that’s slightly forgotten by even Mojang now it seems.
I have this weird feeling that the copper horn songs have something to do with status effects. Like, you can grant an active effect to yourself (or whoever can hear it?) as long as you're playing it, and it gets stronger if you have two parts playing, and strongest if you have all three parts playing. Great Sky Falling could be slow falling, Humble Fire Memory could be fire resistance, Secret Lake Tear could be... night vision, Clear Temper Journey could be water breathing, something like that.
the thing with the roots not being waterlogged upon being placed next to water is actually somewhat similar to real life as with big floods and the such in mangrove forests located on the ocean/riverside, the water can indeed be blocked by the tangle of the roots! the more you know
Frogs should definitely have their swimming behaviour changed so they'll just chill in the water or jump out directly onto a lily pad more often than they'll head for shore.
These horns are DEFINITELY referencing songs from other media. I can recognize one: Great Sea Falling is Sea Shanty 2 (Runescape). For the other songs, the motiffs does sound familiar but I can't quite remember what they're referring to. Someone else has to help me on that.
I really hope they wil add favorite blocks for all other friendly mobs. Cows and Sheep looking for grass. Pig looking for dirt/mud and lets not forget wheat blocks for chicken!
Maybe it'd be an even better idea if, instead of frogs falling through dripleaf or being able to stay on dripleaf indefinitely, they instead have their AI updated to where they'll always jump away before they fall through, as long as they have a viable target to jump to
I can absolutely GUARANTEE that Grian is going to be running around with nothing but an inventory of these horns just to have his theme music wherever he goes. You are ALL going to want to kill him and throw those horns into lava. I 100% guarantee this. Grian + Those horns = Grian running around with a goofy horn theme song that just won't stop.
they should add a mechanic where the frogspawn has to be placed next to a lilypad keeping the frog on the leaf because if cant path over its eggs until hatched.
I understand that the horns are a very nice way to have when playing with friend, or just multiplayer online. I play singleplayer tho and can't see any way I would use them. They are still neat!
Just so you all know, every goat horn/copper horn variants are destined to be removed from 1.19's final release as implied by Henrik at 2:06 If you think this is a neat idea and can be used perhaps for any other purpose that isn't musical such as summoning your horse from a long distance or literally any other useful feature, *_suggest_* your creative insights on the *official* Minecraft feedback website for what the horn should do that'll add something to the game in order to keep the goat horns in 1.19. @@dillonvandergriff4124 I intentionally exaggerated to indicate that it's highly probable that the horns won't make it in the final release since experimental features have lower odds of implementation than features officially announced and released in snapshots.
I think there should be a separation like an inverse from crafting rooted mud. And that is using some tool to remove roots from mud like you can remove roots from rooted dirt using a hoe. Just for those people that prefer not to use rooted mud as much but can still use it for other stuff instead of throwing it away into lava.
My only problem with the horn is that I think the existence of a goat horn precludes the ability to put a saddle on a goat, and for DocM's sake, I really want to be able to do that.

When I fired up the snapshot a few days ago, I noticed that the mangrove fence gate is in the Building Blocks tab, not Redstone. Is that a bug?
No
i found out that propagules attract bees, and you can breed bees with propagules, so i guess propagules are flowers

I hope Mojang continues adding musical instruments, it'd be really cool to be able to make a band with your friends
Especially because I spent hours learning how to play songs with noteblocks lol

Agreed
I hope they add a function where when people try playing these at the same time, the sounds sync automatically.

A cool concept for dripleaf would be a tag called something like "Light_Entity" that would allow small/light creatures to stand on them; frogs, chicken, silverfish, endermite, ect. Would also allow mod creators for things like orgins to give player orgins tags so they could stand on it if it fit

So if you fits you can sits?
Bunnies should be able to stand on dripleaves too

i dont understand how that wasn't figured out immediately. As soon as i heard them i knew so idk
@@shreeze I play piano and sing so maybe its the same for me?

*Frog Parkour*
They really need frogs to be able to stay on drip leaves and not fall through.
I had a feeling that all three were supposed to be played together. The crouching one sounds more like a bass so it makes sense that if you combine it, it would sound better.
I can already see the hermits on hermitcraft creating factions with their own flag and copper horn anthem.

yess ive wanted portable note blocks for a while, it would be cool :)
In my opinion Mojang should add an option to customize the F3 layout, as there is way more information than what most players need.

Crouched horns basically turn horns into didgeridoos. Great for playing out in the mesa.
The horns are such a cool addition, my favourite is still the frogs though, can't wait to have a bunch of them around.
Imagine a skulk themed sound block that responds to specific goat horn songs via redstone.
