I’m running a basic 10 rib belt not green not RPM, a 7.65 lower and 3.55 upper on an F1A. I only put my tensioner to 1.25 notches on the tensioner (when cold, it does go up to almost 1.5 notches when hot) and I have zero problems with belt. No slipping or belt replacement in years. I do have a Grip Tech pulley now but ran a regular pulley with no slipping too. It is my experience that you will get some belt dust with the Grip Tech pulley even when not slipping and especially with a new belt. The shorter the belt the better. Everyone gets tripped up on “belt wrap”and puts too long of a belt on and then when revved up the belt touches itself and that causes slippage and damage to the belt. Keep in mind that the tensioner on our set-ups will extend downward 2-3 inches at full RPM and at that point you will get awesome belt wrap. It’s really hard for me to explain but I hope you are understanding, if not I’ll give you my number and you can call me.
I 100% understand what you are saying but with a 2.70 upper on it I run the shortest belt I can and I was still having belt slip issues according to the log after the last few things I tried it seems to be ok now but my issue is with the 2.70 griptech up top it is such a small diameter that the belt is very close to itself also with the 2.70 it doesn’t have a whole lot of surface area to grab but we’ll see what happens if it continues to work I won’t worry about it but if I keep having belt slip issues I’ll figure something els out
@@bought2build right on. I have a new F1a-94 on the shelf that I will put on this winter. If I like it I may get rid of the F1a. I’ll keep you in mind 👍
@@baby-sharkgto4902 yeah definitely do Man 👍👍 been waiting to come across a used f1a94 or f1x but for the right price I may be interested in the a thanks
@@bought2build I also have a new carbon fiber driveshaft, a barely used aluminum driveshafr and a new Sikky shifter if you know anyone interested. I’ve become a border of go fast GTO and LS stuff 🤣 also have Trickflow heads, cams, 42# injectors, 85/89# injectors and more lol
Those Hurst GTO shifters were a Sh*t show, I ordered one when they came out and it took so long with so many delays that I completely forgot I ordered it until it showed up like a year and a half after. I used it for about 2 months until it started sticking and coming out of gear, took the chrome handle and knob and bolted it to a shifter that made sense. It's a crap design, pretty much identical to stock, which also sucks. Having torn into it I would argue that parts of it are worse than stock. Cause of sticking was due to the bushing under the shift lever wearing the gold aluminum housing it sits in.
Yeah I agree the hurst was very poorly executed. I bought it new old stock so it was new in box for 100 bucks so I figured it was worth trying and I like the handle I just don’t like how loud it is and I am afraid I am going to do a 1-2-1 when shooting for 3rd or something. I personally like the stock design and hurst design I just think it needed better execution. If I was going to keep the manual trans in the car I would have liked to try the one made by sikky. 🤟🤟🤟🤟

I am also way over spinning the blower by a lot so I should step up to an f series so I don’t need to max out the blower
