First of your vids I've watched. Won't be the last. Great stuff. I have been loving on Lomo 800 for about two years. I was at the Warhol in Pittsburgh a few years ago & they were clearancing the Lomo 800 120 they had. I paid $3 a roll. Got maybe 5 three packs.
Wesley I honestly have no idea! It looks like he could have possibly used a pro mist filter when filming, but I’m not an expert at all and wouldn’t take it to the bank. Love the style though 👌
I did not expect you here, but hey I love you and I agree that this is a beautiful video. Analog photography is so interesting and it feels so much more special than digital!
there is a spot for the shutter release, you just need an adapter for it. and the note there that says use 120 is so people wouldn’t use 220, on the 124 g you can use either.
I agree. I was thinking exactly that the whole way through. Just an extra bit of craftsmanship that added that extra sheen to the whole vibe of the production.
Just bought my first house in Gloucester, VA. I'm a photography hobbyist and have been watching you for about a year now. I think you'll really appreciate the slower pace of country living. It's true healing for the soul. Love and peace.
it was just yesterday i found about you, and rn i am in my bed, about to be 11 at night, was going to watch an episode on prime. But I just clicked on yt, wanted to see whats there, saw this, clicked on it. *And for the whole time, I was in awe, I was dead quite, just absorbing the colours of your photos, aswell as being equally inspired by this video works itself.* Just wow
Made it a really really enjoyable viewing experience by using the ambient sounds of the area while rolling through your captures. Some great stuff here. Can't wait for what's next!
For reference, there's a threaded collar that screws off by the shutter button that allows you to use an old leica or nikon F series cable release. Also, these sell for around $100 depending on condition give or take. I shoot with a Yashica 635 currently. Cool of you to show you don't need a $1k rolleiflex to take some nice 6x6 shots.
We love it. Can’t wait for more. Congratulations on the move joe you’re blessed to live in such a beautiful place. This video really put me in a place of zen thank you for always sharing the beautiful places you visit/now live. Really happy to see another video on the channel can’t wait for more. Thank you Daniel the production was amazing.
Awesome! I bought one about a year ago and absolutely love it. Bought it from a local camera store for $60 and had it CLA'd by Mark Hama. The shutter release cable is a plunger style that screws over the shutter button, hence the threads around it. You can easily find one on ebay/Amazon for around 10-15 bucks. Also, never use the self timer, overuse will eventually wear out the shutter mechanism causing it to lock up. Enjoy!!!
Loved the style of the video. Calming and very enjoyable to watch. And congrats on the purchase of the land. Hope We Get to hear and see more about future projects there
Happy to see you back with these kind of videos. Really enjoyed it. Also Tennessee looks so nice. Amazing man. Hope to pass through Nashville on my next trip to the States. Take care
I was lucky enough to be gifted a yashica D from my great uncles collection. One of my all time favorite cameras to use . Stunning photos so fun to shoot with.
Joe Greer with a TLR is a vibe I never knew we needed. Congrats on being a land owner, man! Keep making videos through the process of building your home.
Well!! Hello Joe, So glad to find the channel. Old RR fan here. Wishing you and Maddie all the best. Hope you guys got through the floods OK. Beautiful video. Loved the documentary style. The music, awesome job.
I got my own yaschica mat 124 and I absolutely love it, mine does have the cable release trigger and a light meter, although the light meter isn't always the most accurate lol. It's still an amazing camera and I'd recommend a similar one to anyone considering medium format bc they're one of the cheaper options to get amazing pictures with medium format!
Stoked to have videos coming to this channel again. Love the storytelling and production of this. Keep documenting life and the new surroundings and congrats on embarking on the house build! Can’t wait to see more. Cheers
i like the new style of your video's Joe. Nice content and also nice colors and mist filter used, really gives it the extra film experience when watching. Also good luck on building your home on the property. looks sick.
I love the atmosphere of this video, production value matches the still images well. It becomes more of a docu about the creation of the work than a video that shows stills. Video becomes as much to look forward to than the snap of the camera!
Square medium format is one of the best discoveries of my photographic life. I've found the 12 slow, quiet frames on the Rolleiflex 2.8 to be more enjoyable than most other cameras I own, especially shallow colour portraits at 2.8.
Absolutely brilliant! Loved how the video was done by Daniel. Really feel like it was a great little short film. It allowed you to tell the story vocally, and when you weren't speaking the composition from Daniel kept the story going. Obviously the photos were super rad too! looking forward to seeing my content soon.
I don't usually comment on anything, but I'm jut atonished... my man on the production absolutely killed it brother. Keep it up! and it's good to see this channel alive again
This is real youtube, this kinda content is what youtube was made for, it's just a guy who's mom went thrifting and ended up getting a 5 dollar camera that actually works and then decided to make a video about it. It's pure and it's basically what this site was made for.
Inspired me to pull my minty LM off the shelf, I've never shot it. I got it for free in a lot of camera gear + Mass of Darkroom equipment. Thanks for the inspiration, man
Thank you so much for showing that you use a tripod. I have a Yashica LM and really was looking for someone who shows if they use a tripod and find that it gives u more accurate sharp photos vs handheld.
The production quality is fantastic. Love the rolling audio. Love the color. Love the photos. This style of video is super fun to watch. More plz thanks!
Great video Joe. The production quality is super high like you said, and it's incredibly noticeable with the film filter as well as the audio quality. To you and Daniel, keep up the good work. Good luck with relocating to Nashville! PS: You're totally right about how in the south all you have to do is wave. There's been countless times where I've been shooting in super remote small towns in Tennessee and Arkansas and my only saving grace was a small wave.
absolutely gorgeous video. i actually paused a few times 'cause the frame and the lighting had you looking like a moving photograph. (obviously, but it looked gorgeous!) what an amazing find! :)
That weeping willow took me right back to my teenage years with a Lubitel 2 when I took a decent shot of one through the gate railings of a private garden in London.
Thank you RUclips algorithm. I don’t know a thing about photography but I was captured by the mood of the way this video was filmed. It made me feel nostalgic and familiar with the surroundings. Thank you 😊
honestly man, the change in pace of life already shows in your work. Cannot wait to see what the move inspires you to photograph. Absolutely killed it! 😭
Love the style of video, love the new lifestyle with the land rover too, just driving around looking for things to capture. Keep up the good stuff, from the UK with love
All hail the mums of the world. What a steal! Absolutely loved the production of this video (not that I didn't like it on your others!) - felt super relaxed, restful and warm. Really nice. Super excited to see what's to come from your move out of the city - looks like a beautiful corner of the world.
You have to know this camera and love working with it, then everything will work out. Supporting that statement is this video. "TLR Lubitel 2 cameras, Lubitel 166U examples of black and white photos" Thank you for publishing!
There actually is a place to put a shutter release cable, its just a very different design. My grandpa bought one of these in the 60s and just recently gave all of it too me, including manuals and stuff. Its awesome.
thank you all for the overwhelming love and support of the new vid & direction! daniel slammed this production. love you all. see you soon again xo
what camera do u use for video?? plz
What LUT or filter do you use? @joegreer
Which film did you use?
What camera and lens was used to film this?? I love it!
"I did a little test roll, nothing crazy"
Shows crazy beautiful photos.
That's your nothing crazy??? You make me want to recrate my found old school SLR cameras and put them back in storage.....

Right lol
Yeah those were my favorites of the video haha
wow coming back strong
The quality and colour of this video is unreal... so raw and pure. Love this, Joe.
I thought the same thing. I love it.
I think they were using Pro Mist filter in this video. Makes things soft and filmy
What cam was used ?
Raw? Looks like I’ve had my eyes open underwater for 50 minutes
Daniel killed it with filming and editing
Nick Larsen ain’t wrong brother
@@ioegreer how did you get it to look like this?
@@rpeters330 Try looking for a Tiffen ProMist Filter, they soften the highlights and give your images some kind of "glow"
The Pro Mist humidity filter is at 500% 😭
Such a retro look! Do you know which grade this is specifically?
Wesley I honestly have no idea! It looks like he could have possibly used a pro mist filter when filming, but I’m not an expert at all and wouldn’t take it to the bank. Love the style though 👌
I think its overkill. Looks like the camera lens is greasy.
hahahah
@@csorgotom i hear you on that. Personally i think it looks dreamy.
What a beautiful video
I did not expect you here, but hey I love you and I agree that this is a beautiful video. Analog photography is so interesting and it feels so much more special than digital!
My friend had a steal of the century. She found a Contax T2 for $8 at a thrift store 😫
Omg!! Such a dream
there is a spot for the shutter release, you just need an adapter for it. and the note there that says use 120 is so people wouldn’t use 220, on the 124 g you can use either.
Daniel: How much Pro-Mist would you like?
Joe: Yes
Well done and greetings from Germany! I got a Yashica Mat (124G) myself and I’m loving it.
Haha i was looking through the comments for exactly this. How much is this would you think? 1/2?
Keanu Haumahu
I think this a lot more. Might be a Full or even 2.
Love the filter on the highlights, really gives the heat to the footage
couldn’t agree more daniel slapped this
I agree. I was thinking exactly that the whole way through. Just an extra bit of craftsmanship that added that extra sheen to the whole vibe of the production.
Do u know how to find this filter?
@@HrushenkoOo I'll let the expert answer, but in theory is a -pro mist- filter

Wow amazing video! Great work Joe and Daniel!

This was an experience. So well done
the "use 120 film only" was probably so people didnt use 220 film, not 35mm
Kyle Gallagher definitely for that reason.....
Or 620, which was needed for the Kodak Brownies of the period. The 220 is an interesting size...
I've always admired yours and Daniel's work. Daniel Chaney absolutely nailed this one and as always Joe, absolutely killer work.
Keep killin' it!
Loved the style of the video. Calming and very enjoyable to watch. And congrats on the purchase of the land. Hope We Get to hear and see more about future projects there
That was one of the most soothing and satisfying videos I've ever seen. Soooo sick, plus loved the Leica glow effect on the video, super dreamy.

The lomo 800 looks incredible. Those portraits of your wife are so wild. Just perfection.
