You are absolutely correct. I am 100% P and T. To make that $40,000 per year, a person would have to make $55,657 before taxes, which is around $28.00 an hour. I went from looking for spare change to put fuel in my jalopy to get to a security job that I hated.... just to live paycheck to paycheck. When I was awarded 100% it changed my life. I bought a house through the VA with no down payment a few years back and this year I purchased a brand new Honda pilot. I know what it's like to be broke and choosing between gas or groceries. I don't have to worry about gas or groceries or even buying Christmas anymore. But the best part is not having to see the worry in my wife's eyes anymore. At 100% it's not just about the monthly income, but the FREE medical also, many veterans don't include that. That's worth quite a lot of money that you don't have to spend anymore. And with the supposed 8.7% cola increase coming, that's a huge boost.

Question: - could I use my VA TDIU loan to buy a house, and rent that house out and have the renter make the monthly payments towards my house. It's more than the "poverty" threshold, but it's not profit or gainful employment. Would that work or would they consider that income and take my TDIU
