    Fabulous hat and thank you for the great tutorial. I shall be making this hat next. Still haven't done a cable stitch yet but this is probably the best one to practice with first x

    This is easily the best video for this stitch. I've been struggling with the back post part and the way you separate the stitches and show us is so helpful!

    Hello from Greece. I'm watching your vibeo and somehow I'm doing something wrong. I started with 90 ch. But when I'm starting the fptc I end up with 3 posts and the turning post. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Please help

      Hi there! If you’re willing to start t over, chain one more (so 91) if not, add an extra DC in the last stitch and work the following row las if that had been there all along. It’ll be easy to hide after a row or two, plus since it’s at the edge, you can hide it more when you stitch the sides of the hat closed.

    Looks like a fabulous product. Are you working to eventually stitch up the back once the brim is completed?

  • @lesliesmith9092
    @lesliesmith9092 5 лет назад +2

    Also, just curious as to why you wait to do the brim after the body of the beanie is finished? Why not do the brim first and then work up from there?

    • @ModeBespoke
      @ModeBespoke  5 лет назад +4

      I do the brim last because the side with the initial chain has less stretch to it (since you can only stretch it as far as the chain is long).
      For instance, say I make a 22 inch chain for an adult beanie. If I make the brim first, it’ll only open 22 inches since that’s how long our chains was. If I make it last, I can add another inch or two of stretch since at that point, I’m only limited by the elasticity of the stitch and not the initial chain.
      You can start with the brim first if you want to, though. That’s totally up to you 😃

    Can this be made with a single strand of size 4 worsted weight yarn?

    • @ModeBespoke
      @ModeBespoke  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, you can use any yarn, just adjust your hook size. Try an H hook for a size 4 yarn :)

    So i don't understand how... But following your directions, I somehow ended up doing both the front post and back post crochet in the same row? It looks the same as yours, but I didn't have to double back and fill in holes, I just don't understand how I ended up doing it that way...thank you?

      🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know, but I’m glad it worked out 🙂

    What does the back ends look like?

    • @ModeBespoke
      @ModeBespoke  3 года назад

      The inside? It’s somewhat similar to the outside, but with rows running through it. It’s not a reversible pattern.

    Can I use two DK yarns?

    • @ModeBespoke
      @ModeBespoke  3 года назад

      Used simultaneously? You can, but know that the yarn would be really thick. I can’t remember if I mentioned it in this tutorial, but two fingering threads crocheted together (like I used them in the video) are about a thick as a DK. So you can just use one thread of DK and get a similar result as the hat in the video.

    The hat is beautiful but the yarn choice is too dark. Hard to see sometimes.

      It appears that some people are never satisfied no matter what you do. I read all the comments. People need to move on to some other video. I will get some flack from someone about this I am sure. Just create the lovely way you do.
