    I loved the tutorial! I started on it then started reading the legal restrictions. My daughter would like to make beanies and mittens for the local homeless individuals for winter. I’m teaching her more complicated stitches as we go (and I’m learning too), as well as hard work, respect and to love others. I love that this pattern is gender neutral! Would you mind if we use your pattern to help the homeless? Thank you.

      I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial! I have gotten a few comments on another video about the song I was using so I have switched my newer videos to either not use any music at all for a stitch tutorial or to softer music for the pattern tutorials that take longer. If you'd like, you can check out a video using the new music and I'd love your feedback on how distracting the background music is: ruclips.net/video/sgyYkeyQ0JA/видео.html Thanks again for the feedback! The music I added in this Celtic Weave Beanie was as low as it could go, unfortunately 😕.

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  4 года назад +2

      🤣 I get where you're coming from! It's definitely a process! I chose to slip stitch because it really does have the best stretch but please feel free to use whatever method you prefer! Thanks so much for watching! Please let me know if you have any questions on the project!

    • @micheller8208

      I’m thinking the same thing. I have a very tight gauge and the stitches are not coming out right

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  4 года назад

      @@micheller8208 yes, if you have a tighter gauge you definitely will have a tougher time with the slip stitch around the brim. I even have to make sure I loosen my tension when working the brim, otherwise I have a difficult time fitting my hook into the back loop. Again, just personal preference but that's what's nice about these projects. You can customize them to your preference 😊. Thanks for watching! ❤

    Wow, I have ripped this out so many times. it was just not "weaving" right. I finally figured out that it's the left leaning stitches that are done differently on alternating rows. Your video found here: ruclips.net/video/dw56Fm-x8g0/видео.html helped me a lot. So, for those who might be having trouble....on the first row of celtic weaves, and every other row after that, you "go into" the left leaning posts from OVER the fabric. on the even rows, is when you have to go through the hole and do the twist up thing. Gosh, i don't know if that will help anybody or not, but that's how my head has to think about it. Bethany, if I am wrong about this, please delete my comment. I sure don't want to lead anybody astray. Blessings, everyone.

    What works better for the pom pom so it's not so wobbly just put the pom pom loop straight threw the middle of the hole your tying off then pull your needle to the inside of your hat and secure the pom pom there by taking one side of the loop and tie it off there then go to the other side and tie that side of the loop off. It makes it much more secure. Hope this helps.😉

    I am in love with your hat xx I am newer to crochet. I want to use Red Heart Hygge yarn. It is listed as a size 5/bulky but I think they are calling it 'bulky' bc of the fibers that stick out, lol! Anyways, are u familiar with Hygge? Would this work for your hat? How many yards do you think that I would need for a man's hat? Thanks for sharing this wonderful pattern with us all xx

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  Год назад

      Hello! I'm so sorry for the late reply! I'm not particularly familiar with that specific yarn but I do know that some can be listed as "chunky" simply for fibers that stick out of the yarn. I would play with the yarn to create swatches to see if it really is a chunky yarn or if it's actually worsted weight with some fibers sticking out and assess from there. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

I am a long timer knitter but I figure if my daughter can learn to knit I can bite the bullet & learn to crochet.I know this will sound silly since it has nothing to do with the actual project but I am really curious if you know the name of the polish you are wearing & the brand by any chance ? It is gorgeous & it's 1 of my favorite shades of purple for just about anything

      @ABCuteCreations  4 года назад +1

      Thank you so much for watching! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial! This hat can be a little tricky for absolute beginners so please let me know if you have ANY questions. As for my nails, it's actually not polish but a dip powder that I use called Peppi Gel and the color I'm wearing is called "Sing to me". I have a more in depth tutorial on how it's applied along with information on where you can get it here: ruclips.net/video/QVQ3S2ZvKFI/видео.html and a sped up tutorial of the process here: ruclips.net/video/YNv-iRdxqVA/видео.html 😊. It's more of a process to apply but I absolutely love that it will last me 2-3 weeks and that it's fully cured and ready to go 2 minutes after applying the final step. Good luck with your hat and please let me know if you have any questions!

      Thank you so much for watching! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial!

    I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but it seems like joining at the end of each row is moving further away from the two seems sewn together. Or is that how it's supposed to be?

    Oh i love this. Going to make my husband one. What length should you make for a man when doing the brim? I think mines around 80 rows/22 inch.

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  Год назад

      Hello! It really does depend on the circumference of their head. Crochet can be pretty forgiving but the sounds like a good start for a man's hat. I'd suggest playing around with it to be certain. The base of the hat can even be a little tighter than the rest of the hat as it will secure it on the head. I hope this helps! I'd love to hear how the project turns out!

      Great question! If you have a different style brim that you know and love, go for it! Just keep in mind that if it goes too much higher than my original brim, you'll need to complete less rows on the body in order for it to fit.

    Are the stitches that you work from behind BACK post treble crochet?

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  3 года назад

      Hello! No, they're still considered front post treble crochet because you are working it in front, but you have to go behind the stitch you've just created for some of the stitches you've just made. A back post treble crochet would simply work on the back side of the project and would push the back of the stitch forward, giving the stitch a different look. Does this make sense? I feel like it's difficult to explain solely via text.

    Hi! Awesome video! I’m thinking about making this, but the yarn I want to use is sock weight. What size hook would you recommend, because I think 6.5mm is perhaps not going to work?

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  4 года назад

      So sorry for the delay in my response! I'd definitely go down in hook size and up the amount of double crochets around the brim. Play around with it a little but I'd go with the recommended hook size for the yarn and then go from there. It's a pattern with a multiple of 4 so please definitely add on to what I had recommended. I hope this helps! I'd absolutely love to see the finished product! If you're on instagram you can tag me @abcutecreations. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  4 года назад

      Thanks for the heads up! I have been watching this closely as I want to make sure that this won't negatively affect my channel. Only just over 1% of my viewers are between the ages 13-17 and the rest are older so I don't feel like mine will give the impression that they're meant for children (even though children COULD use my tutorials to learn, they aren't the target audience). So I feel like my channel won't be affected personally but sad for those that this will affect in the crafting community. I know there are many tutorials my daughter will watch that I also enjoy watching with her as an adult. We'll all just have to see how this shakes out in the end.

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  3 года назад

      I'm so sorry these 100%, completely free-to-you-tutorials and patterns are insufficient 🤷‍♀️. Having said that, you do not need to watch all 3 tutorials to create one or even both hats. One is simply a stitch tutorial meant for total beginners who need more of an in depth look at the stitch. Plenty of people who've never done Celtics weave before have been able to follow the tutorials just fine without it. As for the 2 pattern videos, both follow the exact same base for the hat so instead of creating more work for myself (crocheting on camera and explaining your steps does take more work than just doing your thing off camera)....I decided to use the same video to explain the beginning steps. Yes, you then have to do one extra step and click the link I have pretty clearly listed for you in both the comments and the description but I felt that was a fair trade off since I'm doing the work and providing free-to-you content. I am sorry you were unhappy with the content but I do still wish you happy holidays and hope you have a happy and healthy new year.
