Just finished..I love this hat! I used same camouflage yarn, hooks and everything! My husband loves it too, which is awesome!! Thank you for sharing this. Take good care.
It's really a great option since each side gives a different look. It just offers more versatility, which I always love. I think it's great that you make one for your brother every year! Best of luck on your project and thank you so much for watching!
I'm not sure of the exact yardage. It would really depend on the size you needed to make. I will say that one skein of red heart super saver was more than enough yarn for this project and I was able to also create a coozy mitt with it as well.
I hope you can help me. I made two of these hats, totally awesome. I want to make a large size. Would I still do the 82 for the brim? How many stitches would I pick up? And how would I do the decrease? I hope you can help me I want to make more.
I would measure your stitches to calculate how many to pick up. So, for instance, I did 74 stitches and I know that fits a 23.5 inch head. That means I have roughly 3.15 stitches per inch. If you know the size head you're trying to fit then you will simply multiply 3.15 times the circumference you want to fit and you should get a rough estimate of how many stitches you'll need to pick up around the brim. Does that make sense? For the brim, you can get away with doing a few less rows as well since it won't need to stretch as far.
Hello! If you're a beginner the best way is to simply keep a running tally or purchase a row counter to help keep track of them (you can find an example of one here: amzn.to/2Dna7t2 ) and if you already started to work up your hat, you can tell how far you are by turning the hat inside out and counting each row by looking for the sideways "v" stitches. So each row will have a series of the sideways "v's" and you can simply count up from there. Does that make sense? If you're wanting to count ribbing on the brim, I have an older video that shows you how you can count the rows of ribbing. It's an older video so the lighting isn't as good but it might help. Just fast forward to about 3:28 and I show you how you can count the ribbing: ruclips.net/video/X8IDmHugr8o/видео.html
I just made this hat gorgeous! Now do I make the ribbed beginning shorter, would I still pick up the 74 and then do as in viedoes. I need to made a couple in size large. If you could eventually write up the pattern that would be awesome! Ty.

ABCuteCreations yes it does thank you. So the decreases would be the same? So a 22 inch x 3.15 would be 70 stitches to pick up. This is the best hat I found and the results are stunning
Yes, I would continue with the decreases just as before. You'll just have less of them to work in each row because of having less stitches but the concept will remain the same. I'm so glad you like the pattern!
Very nice video! Your pace is perfect, your sound is excellent, and your instructions are very clear. I can't say enough nice things about this video. However, there is one tiny thing I'd like to point out. The stretchy part that you worked in slip stitches is not a "brim," it's a "band." If you'll google parts of a hat, you'll see that the brim of a hat is the horizontal part that keeps the sun and rain out of one's eyes, like on a cowboy hat or a fedora. The band is the part that goes around the circumference of the head, like a headBAND! Just a tiny pet peeve of mine. Otherwise, I'm a new subscriber and really commend your work!
This ended up being slightly big for my boyfriend so yes, I'd recommend you keep the same amount of stitches. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for watching!
I think your instructions are lacking a little. Some of us need a little more showing of the stitches. My beanie looks like a mushroom/beret and not a man's beanie hat. I did reduce my stitches like you said in the beginning around the rim before starting and it still didn't turn out properly. Kind of sucks.
It really depends on the child but an average child's measurement is 19-20 inches. The one I made was for a person with a 24 inch measurement. So I'd start with around 60 stitches for the body of the hat but you may need to play with that a bit. I hope this helps!
Yarn over, insert your hook into one stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through two loops on your hook, yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining loops on hook. Hopefully, this helps!
Thank you for this great tutorial 👌 going to make this for charity. Brutally cold temps we have right now right thru to next week.

Do you know how many yards of yarn needed for this hat?
I'm not sure of the exact yardage. It would really depend on the size you needed to make. I will say that one skein of red heart super saver was more than enough yarn for this project and I was able to also create a coozy mitt with it as well.
Could you please make a written pattern

How do I count the 42 rows? I’m a beginner I don’t really know how to count the rows?

I am biginer you Can chow me the nember on centimètre please
Hello! I'd love to help you out. Can you please be more specific of where you're getting hung up on the project?
My grandson head is 25 1/2. Would I do the brim and measure it to like 24? Do I still keep the pick up stitches at 74. This is beautiful.
This ended up being slightly big for my boyfriend so yes, I'd recommend you keep the same amount of stitches. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for watching!
ABCuteCreations thank you I just brought some camouflage yarn on clearance so anxious to try this. Will you be having a written pattern?
Deseo un modelo de gorra ,pero a palitos. Gracias.
Me alegro que hayas disfrutado. ¡Gracias por ver!
Did you write up the pattern yet. Thanks
I have not as of yet. Hoping to get to it but not sure when.

How about the measurements for 7 years old

Combien thurtin
Your video doesn't explain what a decrease is.
That will fit a GIANT! 😂 Love it but my mans head isn’t that big. 😂😂🧶
Yes, definitely an xl size! The good news is that this pattern is easily adjusted to fit your needs! Thanks so much for watching!
