His Mother is going to love it. Good job. Thin ply can difficult to work with. I have done a lot of scrolling with it. Many times the piece went into the scrap heap. It likes to chip out and break too easily. Well done Eric.
Great information! Thank you so much for showing this project! That took courage, confidence and true skill to understand your tools were doing what they were supposed to do when all that packing tape was hiding your cut lines. Very impressive work!
Thanks so much. I really appreciate the kind words. Happy you enjoyed this. If I can answer any specific questions for you please email me, eric@makeawoodsign.com
I have to kinda laugh a little. Way back when on a Friday night live I asked about carving plywood. I thought from the response it was a carving sin. I didn't know the boards were glued together, I thought it was plywood. Learned something that night :)
LOL... Yea it's not something I do normally. Thank you for watching, hope this was helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions, eric@makeawoodsign.com
Thanks for sharing this. I'm not sure that I would even try that. The spiral upcut can be difficult to control. The dwp 611,(& pc 450), are worth their price when it comes to depth control. I cuss that damn wheel on my rigid all the time.
LOL, I hear you on the depth adjustment. I don't know what I was thinking NOT using the 611 on this. Won't make that mistake again... Thank you Bob for your input, Merry Christmas!!!
another informative video from the Rhoten's. I believe any "MOTHER" would love this sign ...
Thank you Bruce, Merry Christmas!!!
I learn more than one thing new everyday. Retention is key though. Thank goodness for RUclips. Lol. Thank you Eric!
You're welcome Miss Carmen, Thank you!!!
I love this sign. Any wood can be a sign. This thin plywood can add to cabinet door panels. More ideas are cool.
Thank you Ray, happy you liked it. Merry Christmas!!!
Good morning Eric and Vicki. The sign looks great. Thanks for sharing how you selected the bit. Plywood is tricky especially when it’s that thin.
Thank you Dan, Merry Christmas!!!
What an amazing idea.I love how Vicki got in really close while you were carving, I learned a lot of things I'm doing wrong while she was that close.
Thank you Tessia, Merry Christmas!!!

I saw that. Thank you Pam, Merry Christmas
Maybe you should take a note from Eric and apply the two layers of tape to stop the chipping out
watching from Belgium ,will starting carving and learn a lot from your video's dave , thanks
Thank you Bart, I so appreciate the kind words. Please email me if I can answer any questions for you, eric@makeawoodsign.com. Merry Christmas!!!
Nice Video, watching you do this has given me an idea about wedding boards. I didn't realise until now you could carve on ply. Thanks, Dave and Vicki.
Thank you Noel, happy to help...
Eric n Vickie great demo once again,
I never thought of using plywood, but I'll stick with solid wood, came out great, God Bless Ya'll
Thank you Donny, I will most likely stay with solid wood too...
Gotta continue to work on that “fingers on the board technique”.
Great waking up to your video and get my fix lol. Great work!!
Yes!!! The spiral upcut bit floats on me! Yay I’m not alone.
No you are not alone. Thank you Shirley, hope this helped.
Good encouragement video.... Storing this in my memory banks !!
Thank you Gary, Merry Christmas!!!
Another good lesson taught and learned....thanks Eric.
Merry Christmas to the entire Rhoten family!
Thank you Buddy, Merry Christmas!!!

That is the mother of all boards.
HAHA ya it is!
The DWP611 is my favorite of all my routers. Dont forget to buy your bits from makeawoodsign.com and keep them sharp at the same place.
Thank you so much for the shout out Ray, I really appreciate it.
@@oldave100 you're welcome.
Good job. Very good example of something new. You and Vickie have a blessed Christmas and the best New Year ever.
Thank you Jim...Merry Christmas
Looks good. I wonder if you put some finish on the plywood before carving if that would help with the chip out and splintering on the edges.
Good point, that may work. Thank you for the idea. Merry Christmas!!!
