Listened tonite to Dusty,Joni Mitchell,Judy Collins,Lulu,....and of course Joan Baez....all brilliant examples of Female singers actually singing Live....but Judith has it all!!
What a wonderful performance by Judith Durham! Singing Gospel songs truly came from her heart! I'm glad that we have so many recordings to remember her by, thanks to RUclips and other sources!
This is beautiful... what a voice she had... could have done without the background singing she certainly didn't need it. She was totally overlooked in the states back then but I knew of her as I didn't follow only the USA singers at the time like almost everyone else. yep you gotta think outside-the-box. even today the ultimate female voice is probably Sissel. But who knows about her in the states? Probably nobody (except the Mormon Tabernacle audience... yeah THEY know her).
Not only a great pop music group, but the only group that can have God also in many of their songs. Even their 'love' songs ('Walk with me' for example) sounds to me songs of love towards God...If the Beatles will be all time greats in Music of every kind, the Seekers (particularly Durham) will be an all time great in having God and Purity in their songs... Thanks Denny.
Nope. But today her equal is probably Sissel. Nope. Nobody heard of her either. Unbelievable class act as well... just like Judith. She's all over YT, Teddy you may wanna listen to her. She's Norwegian but sings in no less than 15 language and speaks absolutely perfect "Americanized" English without any dialect. I do not know how this woman does what she does. Just search her on YT she's all over here and with damn good reason.
Amazing voice of Judith. Never heard this song before, but now I put it on the list of my favorite ones. I love Judth's voice, she sings like an angel.
I agree 100% I'm a 69yo male Aussie & used to see & hear Judith singing in small venues in the Sixties. What an incredible voice & such a lovely person.
This song was recorded almost 50 years ago and it is still worth listening to. Good music and good singers never go out of style. Thanks to the internet their talent stays with us for mnay years. Judith Durham----one of the best.
I went thirty years hardly listening to her, and I must have been crazy. I think I was so attracted to her in the sixties, I didn't actually realise how good she is.
I watch Judith Durhams singing on line I have bought their 25th anniversary dvd I don't think I have heard a better voice in all my life. Perfection. Love it
Yes, and some of the people making these comments don't seem to realize Judith is Australian and not American. Some people just have one thing on the brain and everything goes back to that. But those amazing vocals! Let nothing distract...
saw them last week in Adelaide on their 50th anniversary tour but my wife needed to be back in the Philippines so sadly could not be with me. I've fixed it! Bought tickets for their last Aussie concert in Brisbane on December 4 and she'll be with me then. Judith's voice is as good or better now than in the 60's as incredible as that might be. Just wonderful!
Was listening to some old songs, saw the Seekers and thought oh I soughta know of them why not click on one of their songs, I'm like feck that was good lets try another and I'm like omg they are good and her voice freckibg amazing so I see this song that I have never heard of and think why not this could surprise me too and ZING ! fck what a voice, beautiful ! Perfectly executed like a work of art flowing out of her mouth. Now on my must watch again in perpetuity list. I dip my hat.
Judith's rendering of this track left me with goose bumbs....in my soul....I am in heaven.....Oh yes...superb arrangement and will you believe I am a sworn Beatle fan but I have heard The Seekers in the 60s....
15 Aug 2019 - This is not the original at all! Sure the original video had its imperfections but therein was found an honest and sincere innocence which is what made it so beautiful that I selected and chose it from many other recordings to be placed on my list of Worship and Praise songs. What a pity that this lovely song has now been "worker over" and so - spoiled and thus lost. It really WAS one of my favorite numbers from my younger days of the sixty's. Too Bad. I now had to replace it with another artist's version because this no longer cracks it. Please read the comments to the original (prior to today) and see just how much it was really liked and loved. So sorry about this !!! . . . Please bring back the original and I will restore it to my list.
There were at least two performances of this song on this occasion. This is slightly shorter than the one on the "At Home" film, for which I believe it was recorded. Maybe it's a rehearsal.
Does everyone know Judith suffered a cerebral hemorrhage after her recent Seekers 50 years Melbourne concert about 10 days ago and is recovering in a Melbourne Hospital. Check her condition on the .Judithdurham.website
Judith your the best.!!! ❤

Absolutely the one of Judith best song ever...Love her...enough said...
If it's even possible for a person to have too much talent, then Judith Durham is that person. What a gift from God that voice and the woman is.
Originally, that's what Merle Haggard said about Glen Campbell. But absolutely, Judith Durham is absolutely thre, too...
I've never heard anyone sing this song as great as this . Judith has a range unparalleled.
I agree 100%
I'm a 69yo male Aussie & used to see & hear Judith singing in small venues in the Sixties.

You were so lucky. I wonder if you ever guessed at the career she would have.

She is so awesome!!!!
A world without Judith is almost inconceivable after you hear her once.
I went thirty years hardly listening to her, and I must have been crazy. I think I was so attracted to her in the sixties, I didn't actually realise how good she is.
Except that, I realise now it's not possible to not know how good she is.
@@stewartfenton7660 Judith is like a dream in form of flesh and voice.

Only young when I heard the seekers but the voice was excellent.
Love Judy..
I person refuses to walk with Thee oh Lord!!!!!!!!!!!
No one sings better
Was the Beatles' song "Let it Be" inspired by this song? Judith brings me to tears every time I listen to this...usually right before I go to church.
Shockingly divine. It should be an offense to sing as beautifully as this punishable by free tickets to their next concert.
I wish we could go back in time and get those tickets.
i would love to here her sing with phil and tommy emmaniel playing gackup guitars with her
Superb version. Excellent vocal, unusual arrangement
She's an Aussie!!
@Keld Anthony Open the Pearly Gates is also one of the songs she performed
Three people need the help of the Lord.
Lovely to se Judy singing a Christian song we need more Christian s in the entertainment industry.

Who are three pillocks that do not rate this song ? Please identify yourselves!!
@joemulgrew Ok, I have heard all versions in You Tube but the Papa Bue's Viking Jazz Band is in my opinion the best.
Why "1966\1968" - is one the audio and the other the video?
