Lovely haunting voice. There is a short list of singers from this era of that caliber with us. Nicole Grisoni and Rosetta Ardito come to mind. I was surprised to find out Anne Murray is held in very high regard in such places as Bulgaria. I must take a second look at her art. What happens is you take these artists for granted. There are plenty of young singers with stellar talent, even here, such as Jenn Grant, but the corrupt music industry has shut them out. You have to search for them.
Oh Judith, you will forever be a beautiful vivacious exciting young girl! Your voice was the soundtrack of my youth, blessed with perfect pitch and a voice as clear as a bell, who could resist your charms? God bless you my darling girl, angels are among us so fleetingly but are appreciated for ever.
In short, magnificent and brilliant. So lovely and heartwarming - A very nice song.I have always ❤ The Seekers.and I will continue to;Definitely. Thanks you all for great music memories.
I grew up listening to this song and falling deeply in love with Judith Durhams' looks and voice. To me she epitomised, and still does, all that is truly beautiful in a girl.

My Mum used to sing this to me when I was small. And play this record to send me to sleep. I was born in '68 but was lucky enough to see The Seekers live in the 1990s.
Nobody in their right mind has a bad word to say about the beautiful Judith Durham. She has an exceptionally good voice, and this song is so tranquil and relaxing.
Mum sang this song for us kids, on the night that Hurricane Camille decided to pay a visit to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Aug 1969. We were too scared to sleep, but this song helped. I will never forget that night...
I loved the seekers and their songs since I was 10 years old now at the age of 57 years old I'm still listening to their music Judith Durham you have the most Beautiful Voice on this Planet
Loved this song when l was in my youth. In fact, l used to sing it to my younger siblings to help them sleep, when tired. Still know all the words today. Not as young as l used to be. Safe in the arms of Jesus. Deepest condolences to the family, the Seekers and Australia at this time. You're all in our thoughts and prayers.
It's an era that has slipped by so quickly but to be part of this magic time and to have enjoyed the best that modern music has to offer, We were further blessed by groups and people who made up the Seekers, The Beatles, The Hollies, etcccc...but Judith Durham had her own special pedestal...and as pedestals go, room for only one....and as the move title states....TAKEN.! Thank you for the joy, Tears and sheer happiness you gave us. For 79 years there was a blank spot in the sky...now forever Filled.🤣
This lovely little song with it's beautiful vocals, sweet lyrics, delicate melody, and vintage instrumentals, has such a pure and precious innocence about it and pulls at my heartstrings. It gives me nostalgic memories and emotions of childhood, even though I never knew of this song when I was a child. For some reason, there are tears in my eyes.
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day… Stay Safe
In Judith's own words she did not know how Beautiful and Loved she was. Such a Beautiful Person. Very few people like this not only in the music world but in the world in general. I would give anything to have a friend like Judit.!!!
Yes, she would no doubt make a wonderful friend. I'm privileged to have a lovely 97 year old friend Andrée Dumon, Belgian WW2 resistance heroine (codename Nadine), who was betrayed but survived 2 concentration camps- still so kind and cheerful : ruclips.net/video/L6_RVsTgpWI/видео.html
Judith has the most beautiful voice, she sometimes makes me cry. This song is very special for me, here is the reason, It reminds me of being in a children's home called Weedings Hall near Polmont in the early 1970s, I had some wonderful times there, the Matron (Mrs Aitken) was the first mother figure I had, a lovely woman. This song reminds me of an innocence and freedom that's difficult to find today, Thank you Seekers for shining a bright star of hope and comfort. XXXX
This is one of those songs which has its own magic, I'm 9 years of age, playing out on my two wheel scooter, when I bump into my school friend ,who is with his big sister, and she has a small transistor radio in her hand, and this song is playing, I see her and her little brother every time I hear this song.I have many good memories of this period in my life, but few are better than this one,
All of the Seekers songs have a magic of their own and bring such joy to people like myself-my parents were great fans of the Seekers and later gave an LP "Come The Day" which they bought in the 60s and which I still have in my collection
I first heard this song from the Irish Rovers back in the early 1970s as a child. It wasn't until years later and I heard this version that I found out The Seekers are the ones who made it famous. What a beautiful song, and a great early music video set on the 'Puffing Billy' steam train.
@@krechenklein4453 good morning my friend krechen there is another video here of judith durham singing morning down ride in 1991 for the children hospital fund too

I'm 6 years old, just emigrated to Australia, living in a nissan hut, attending a school that has me terrified. We sat on the floor, around the teacher, playing piano, and learnt this song. My daughter now sings it to my grandson when he can't sleep 🌈❤️

One of my ALL-time favorites. Love the song, love the steam engine! Oh, those memories...released February 4, 1967 reaching #44 on March 25. Long live The Seekers.
Judith's voice is so magical and the Boys together choke me up everytime I hear this song. It harkens back to a simpler, purer time that I wish we could return to.
When one contemplates the events that took place, resulting in the the universe's arrangement in bringing these four people together, it's nothing short of miraculous -- like the miracle of life itself. Future generations will exclaim 'how lucky were the people who were alive when these four sang' -- what an imprint to have left on the world. ...while listening to this with a 4 year old grand daughter, I just nonchalantly asked her what she would wish for if she knew it would come true -- she answered "I wish I could sing like HER" !!
All of the Seekers songs were hits in the 60s. I wish they had continued because after they went back to Australia, music veered off in a heavy R&R direction with the Stones and Beatles. I really miss their pure voices and lyrics. Thanks for the post it evokes happy memories of the 60s in England, UK.
Condolences to Judith's family. What a lovely singer. This song in particular tugs at the heart strings of just about everyone now in their 70's and 60's and was a favourite when we were youngsters.
What a gas to stumble upon this from '66. I remember young Aussies, Kiwis & Canadians converging on the UK that summer; hitch hiking, cargo ship, youth hostels & odd jobs. The music reinforced our sense of 'Commonwealth Cool'. Once again, am reminded how a country with fewer people than Texas has been top heavy with talent for a long, long time. And, yes Virginia, the guys in the band all wore matching suits from a habberdasher...

It took me wayyy into adulthood to realize this song's lovely and sweet meaning. But dad sang it to me often. Morningtown...comes way too soon when you're old and tired.....😂 Thanks for the beauty , Judith. ❤❤
What a beautiful voice she had. Also she was a gifted Pianist.
We have lost a most precious soul in Judith’s passing…may her beautiful soul find its place in the splendor of Gods loving arms…
