The ship Fairsky is almost the 5th member of the band in this video and it is worth a bit of description. She started life as a C3 cargo vessel being built in San Fransisco, but was completed as a Bogue Class escort carrier, the USS Baines. She served in WWII as HMS Attacker, a Royal Navy ship that served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters, equipped with up to 24 aircraft and a crew of 650. One of her first actions was to provide air cover for the Allied landings during Operation Avalanche/Battle of Salerno and later for Operation Dragoon/Invasion of Southern France. She also served in the Pacific and was at the surrender of Japanese forces in Penang at the end of the war. Attacker was converted to a passenger ship, Fairsky, and spent 18 years sailing between Australia and England. Australia had a policy in which British families could emigrate to Australia for just £10 per adult. She was the ship the Seekers used to move to England to start their career and she was also the ship that most of the BeeGees used to move to England, and they also played while on board.

She was called Fairsky. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairsky. Her story ended sadly.
My mum came out on it in 1959. Though I assume the voyage in this video of them is traveling to Britain.
The Water Is Wide of The Seekers' version is pretty fascinated and charming. Most of the time i listen to it at least 3 times whenever i play the c.d of this song.
Exactly!!! :D
Lovely! Those are the days.
I love the seekers ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I sailed on the first sky in 1974 from Southampton to New Zealand Auckland with Joyce Shepherd the woman I loved to start a new life.
And to all the friends I made on the voyage
