      +WeeWeeJumbo three brothers and a sister who fought a war against the other pre time races, managed to survive while all the other nephilim died.
      Realized they only have one personality quirk each and had the ancient council suck them up and turn them into their horsemen, not the actual horsemen of the apocalypse but more the bouncers at the ancients exclusive only night club.

    I actually can see Death having some affection for his brothers, sister, and others. He has this sort of Sardonic sense of humor throughout the game. Plus he sounds more like a witty British person with a dry throat rather than an angst lawn mower so that's more room for emotion. Also I'm pretty sure he had a thing for the Busty Irish Giant with Voluminous Red-hair.

      BatWayne Yeah but typically you use your index finger for both. Using the middle for the trigger and index for the bumper requires forethought and the pre-existing knowledge that you need to press both buttons, and you are unlikely to have that knowledge as events in video games tend to be spontaneous.

      lxjoe96 I'm not sure why, but yeah, I only ever use my index finger on both buttons, as well. And I suspect we're in the majority here. It seems like most games tend to design their control layout around that idea, as most games seldom have you using the shoulder buttons frequently, and when you do, it's rarely simultaneous to using the triggers.

    Darksiders 2 is one of those games where i wish there was quick time events. (Awaits hate mail) but when fighting a boss, you don't even get the final hit, it goes into a cutscene where death kills the boss, requiring absolutely no input from the player. If they did it God of War style, and allow us an epic kill scene with even the minimalist input (quick time events) Beating a boss would have felt so much more rewarding! Aside from that, and the insanely convoluted universe, and the fact that death is doing all this stuff for people when he can just say "Show me where to go or i'll end you..." I think its a pretty good game, using stylish beat em up game play similar to Devil May Cry and God of War, and simple world exploration in the vein of Fable.

    I like this game...mostly. My largest complaint is that after the Shadow of the Colossus type battle against the Guardian (I think that's what it was, it's been a while since I played it) with the epic music and sense of smallness compared to the boss, the final boss was kind of a letdown. Also, there is, evidently, a book or novel of some sort that goes along with the Darksiders franchise which explains some of what the Horsemen(and Woman) are all about.

      I think he's more saying that games should come up with 100% original chracters and stories, not take a very well known story/chracter and then figuritvely rape it until it resembles something not entirely like the original. If you're going to take from some kind of biblical story that's been around for hundreds of years at least do it right.

      OutLawOwl no, he's a comedian, if he was a critic i'd expect him to not lie about the games he's playing and his experiences in them because on quite a few videos now I've seen contradictory statements and somethings that've seemed like complete lies because I've played those games.
      example: bioshock 2, he said he never understand why the big sisters would fight even if you were freeing the little sisters and not harvesting them. well the game kinda explains this with your first fight being against a big sister. they wants to kill you, they are loyal to their "mother" who also wants you dead. you're taking away the valuable adam that the have and gather, etc. etc. etc. form cutscenes to themes to gameplay itself the game has woven this point and yet he makes this joke about there being no coherent reason why he had to fight the big sisters. this means he's really thick, had forgotten everything related to the plot, had forgotten important game mechanics, and/or just didn't pay attention to anything obvious.
      this to me means that he is not only willing to but will lie about games in order to make these jokes. he's not a real game critic, he's more of a comedian. don't believe me? i've got many more examples form games I've played where he has shown inconsistencies with what happens in the game.
      also, dont talk down to someone for having an opinion, its a really pathetic. he likes the game? good for him, you don't? too bad. its not an opinion of how great or bad the game is, just a simple, "i liked it"

    • @elgatochurro

      ^ but if you never dated her then you're lying.
      how was hawaii? its amazing, i loved the whole trip. but if you never went then you're lying…

      Conquest is oftentimes referred to as Pestilence because of confusion between it and War. Conquest and War are two parts of the same scenario. War goes in guns blazing, and Conquest reaps the spoils. Or better example: War is WW2, Conquest is Wolfenstein. Pestilence makes a tad more sense since it involves disease, as destruction is a trademark of War. Death rules the final half of all; famine, pestilence and war all tie in and cause death.

    • @VioletDeathRei
      @VioletDeathRei 10 лет назад +4

      Psythr666
      The other reason for Pestilence is because of the end quote "Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill(Death the Pale horsemen) with sword(War The Red horsemen and definitely War cause he uses a sword) and with famine(Famine the Black horsemen) and with pestilence(???) and by the wild beasts of the earth."
      Basically the White horsemen is often put in pestilence because the other three fit so well into the others but obviously on a white horse with a crown he doesn't fit well into any some even think he represents the gospel and his thing is conquering so in lames terms no one really knows what he is exactly as the other three are doing all the heavy lifting really.
      Since it's so out there you even have the wild beasts killing part could even be that Death is pestilence and the White horsemen is the one commanding wild beasts of all the horsemen you can kinda make him to be whatever you want.

    I could think of a game where you play as the personification of death. It wouldn't be a straight up action game that's for certain but imagining it being played out a bit like Hitman + the Sims.
    The player receives his daily quota of the people that are supposed to die and given an alterable environment to engineer the circumstances; speeding up traffic, leaving the gas main on, giving the depressed office worker a shotgun like you're winding up the key on a toy solider, etc. The more creative, and elaborate you make the death sequence, the higher your score. You also get just a kind of "screw this" button where death plops down and reaps the poor soul on the spot, but you only have a finite number of those and it doesn't award additional points.

      +Star The Mighty One! In King James it's written that the first horseman rides out like a conqueror, and he has a bow. This could mean conquest but arrows were common symbolism for disease for so long that Pestilence is more likely.

  • @348joey

    Just to clarify, the horsemen are Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. Conquest is often replaced with Pestilence in most modern culture though, mostly because he'd otherwise seem redundant with War.

    The thing about it is, for the first while of DarkSiders II, I started to fall in love. Yeah, enemy variety was lacking a bit, but I figured like most games it would pick up later on.
    However there was the introduction of a certain "Corrupted Custodian" where the game began to fall apart for me. I've never had my love for a game die so quickly. The boss itself is a perfect example as to why it only takes one move for a boss to be ruined in design, and the fact that after that the game started having terribly offensive glitches: Entire sections of the area not loading in, falling through the world, game freezing when loading symbols popped up, and most of all (because I was playing on Apocalyptic) the difficulty spikes were outrageous. I wanted to love the game, and I haven't finished it, but the entire Kingdom Of The Dead section has made me almost resent the game

    I have to wonder at this point how Yahtzee holds his controllers.
    I've always assumed it's a given that you press the lower shoulder buttons with your middle fingers, and the upper ones with your index fingers.
    Yet he seems to shift his other hand over to press the upper shoulder buttons.

    • @TheKindGamers
      @TheKindGamers 10 лет назад +3

      I generally sit my index fingers on the lower triggers and then roll them upwards to hit the shoulder buttons. Works well for me.

    • @TheFutboler22
      @TheFutboler22 10 лет назад

      I tend to keep my index fingers on the triggers, then move them up to hit the bumpers. If you're used to doing that, then yeah, the targeting style used in Darksiders is pretty unwieldy, but it's not too hard to adjust.

    • @UmbraAsterism
      @UmbraAsterism 10 лет назад +2

      I do that unless it's a particularly intense game, then I use thumbs for the joy sticks, my right index finger for the x/y/a/b, the right middle finger and left index for the shoulder buttons and my right ring finger and left middle for the triggers. It took forever to get used to but you'd be surprised how well it works. (Armored core is what drove me to this length of hand contortion.)

    From the future: My biggest disappointment is that "War" got a bunch of gory, dismembering kill animations.. but actual Death spends most of his time fighting skeletons with none of the meatyness. You give me dual scythes and a giant hammer/axe and the enemies just fall apart instead of being eviscerated? What kind of c*cktease is that?
