The line "presumably also themselves if there's time left in the day" has aged so spectacularly.
Zombie games arn't allways "blowing their heads off with shotguns" there is more to them than that
sometimes you use pistols
A few times you even get to use a machine gun.
yeah come on yahtzee
Kit Fisto, Or running for your life.
Or being Lee and tripping over nothing and being eaten...
or sometimes you avoid them like in classic RE
Am I the only one whose first thought was not "save the kid" but "save the man because he'll be far more useful in basically any conceivable situation"?
You can send a kid into small spaces to get materials. Can't send some old fat guy down there.
Already have a kid for that. One who's not a complete dipstick.
I did end up saving the kid, but only because I decided that having Kenny on my side would probably be more valuable. He had a car, was organised enough to have survived with his whole family, seemed - even at that point - to be loyal as hell, which is useful when you're living in the end of the world, and it seemed like the safer decision for me. I didn't want to get too close to the bitey-undead if I didn't have to.
Kid are more malleable, and generally more trusting. You could form him into your second hand man of your post apoplectic empire.
"And presumably also themselves if there's time left in the day." Welp.
Shit that escalated slowly
@@acethurman71 then de-escalated slightly
There was not.
I am very glad that Yahtzee's prediction of the ending was totally wrong.
i fucking loved that endgind so much i cried. well at least i think it should be rated as a good ending
What, no lemonade?
I’ve not played, what’s the ending?
But it's not wrong. Even the show is down to one of those two endings
@@daniellewilson8527the most famous (and imo better) ending is the one where the main character gets infected and his surrogate daughter has to kill him before he turns, although you do also have the option to leave him and let him turn
the ending is actually best part of the entire game (in my mind)
Don't speak about the ending it's still fresh and painfull.
Rutger Holtzer Are we allowed to speak of the ending yet?
I still cant think about that ending. Hold on I need to go cry Im starting to think about it
@@rutgerholtzer3961 have any of you played season 4 yet.it's really awsome
His voice when he says "It took *four or five chops"* is... wow.
"They get along as well as six velociraptors in a tent with only one sleeping bag" lol
'Have a go at my massive, fuck off axe' should be Yahtzee's next audio book.
So much love for "bailout of the yelling at me economy" and "then everyone gets lemonade". These vids put a grin on my face that hurts.
The ending was not Sunshine at all, It was very depressing!
For the record, he did play the rest of the episodes eventually, and it actually made his Top 5 Games of 2012.
I love how when Yathzee said "I thought you had my back man" EVERYONE knew he was talking about Kenny.
Well when Yahtzee mentioned Telltale saving point and click games, episodic gameplay and themselves if there's any time left in the day. I guess that last bit was right
One time, I tried my damnedest to be the nicest person to Larry ever. The only thing I did to him was not agree to kill Duck.
When we were locked in the meat-house, he brought up only that, and said "You must REALLY hate me!" as if his list of sh*t twords me only had one item, when there should have been 20.
Thanks TellTale, you won't even let me be friends with an old bastard.
Yeah, Larry was just a straight up racist. He was gonna hate you no matter what.
See, I like that there are people who you cannot win over. It's not unrealistic that there would be one bloke who first decides that he doesn't like you and then, afterwards, _why_ exactly that is.
mostly he hates lee because he knows hes a murderer, but lee's race may also be preventing him from thinking rationally like "its been 3 months, maybe this guy isnt satan" since double standards and prejudice can go a long way in defining your opinion of someone
It's almost like "choice" doesn't actually matter for shit in tell tale games.
@@glassphoenix9095 Do you think being a murderer isn't a big deal; that people can just easily forgive that after a few months?
Funny thing is his prediction of the end was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY wrong.
This was made when Episode 2 of Season 1 was released so anything could have happened. Also this show is made for comedy purposes.
What? Well duh I know that. I wass just pointing out how the prediction was wrong.
CJM cola cole True that.
*Spoilers*
Yahtzee: What are they expecting to do? Find a cure?
Telltale: Sh!t, he's on to us...Lee? Come over here and get up close and personal with this walker!
Yahtzee: Rebuild society?
Telltale: Clementine, run for the hills before the entire zombified population of Savannah is after you! (And Lee included too if you don't shoot him in the face).
Yahtzee: Then everybody gets lemonade?
Telltale: Silly Yahtzee, the lemons were the source of this entire apocalypse!
Even funnier is the fact that with episode 5 season 2 the one of the satirical predictions is kinda right(trying to be ambigious,so not to spoil anything)
This video was made back BEFORE all the episodes were released. He's probably finished it all by now and found out that this is FAR from over. Still, when this series DOES end, it's likely that it WILL have one of those two endings.
Uhm... It already has. Df are you on about?
And yes, it did end 3 weeks ago (if not earlier), I'm not just being an arse and saying it had already ended when the last episode came like yesterday or something.
Edit: Unless you mean the entire series and there's another season or something coming out based around Clementine or some other group. In which case I will point to Robert Kirkman's statement about how TWD is basically a never ending story with characters being added in roughly whenever someone dies.
***** Yeah, the first episode of S2 is out today on Steam. You play as a slightly older Clem.
im hoping it ends with everyone dieing
he got it right i guess
I like how people 8 years ago said "haha Yahtzee got it wrong the ending was actually good!"
Little did they know yahztee predicted the ending for the entire series years before a season 2 was even in the works
Hey man, you should re-review the walking dead games. I feel like I would be hilarious listening to you talking about episode 5 of season 1. =D
You absolute madman.
Make that season 4
Or tearing into the steaming pile of shit that was Season 2.
"Presumably themselves if there's time left in the day." Turns out there wasn't, Yahtzee.
I guess it turns out there wasn't enough time in the day.
"Om num numnumnumnum!"
Laughed too hard.
"we all know how this will end" WRRRROOOOOONG!
I wonder if he played the walking dead to the end. If he did he strikes me as the kind of guy without a soul who doesn't cry at the ending where...**Spoiler Network has interrupted this comment as it is tainted with spoiler giving text. Please input non-existent code to read spoilers**
...Lee is slowly dying and the player has to decide whether Clementine should stop him turning or leave him and run for the hills.
I didnt cry? Just cause pewdiepie did doesn't mean everyone did...
I'd-a smashed his head with a rock, once you turn you ain't anything but a empty vessel.
***** Oh come on.
***** Okay. But some friendly advice for the future: People *will* get butthurt over hate comments if they aren't actually followed by a note saying it's a joke.
Olivia Green Well I actually hate pewdiepie. He isn't the best person ever. AT ALL. The only reason he has the most subs is because he can't make up his mind about weather his current location is worthy of bearing his name on the mail box.
Might wanna finish it...
To anyone coming down to the comment section:
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
Did we mention anything about spoilers as well?
I agree with others that you should finish season one, at least.
It is very much a leap ahead of most zombie fiction.
Funnily enough in the bit where it's "Save the kid or not" I actually chose to save the adult. More useful and clever and more flesh to go around and he wasn't an annoying squeaky voiced 8 yr. old.
So did I
But in the end it doesnt matter
You don't choose
You're given the choice but things are still going the same direction
Hooray, piggyback comments.
You actually see the MC get rekt and you play on as the "apprentice" whom then survives within a gated community with a baby (not her own) or live out in the wilderness by yourself and join the zombies as a spy, as you're covered in zombie blood.
HD_Harold of course i saved the adult kenny was helping the kid but he still fucking died
They both die in the end sooo no point
***** Excellent point. However I do believe that most people, myself included, would have shot Kenny at the gas station unless you bore a severe devotion to Kenny. Which I did not. And anyway Duck dies because he gets bitten and then put down before he turns.
I know they'll probably never see this comment because this video is almost 2 years old now but for the love of god normalise the outro and intro. It's so fucking loud compared to the rest of the video I'm wearing out my speaker's volume control trying to contain it.
I like it how his prediction of the ending was WAY off.
I won't spoil it for you, but you probably already know.
I like how wrong Yahtzee was with his prediction toward the game's ending :D
"Then everyone gets lemonade" cracked me up lol!
As much as I love his humour, it's even better when he's being a smart ass like at the end, saying he doesn't want to see how it turns out because he knows the only 2 possibilities and yet, the ending is nothing like what he thinks.
Yahtzee, I love you man...
But you could not be more wrong about the ending.
I started watching these videos last night and got some great belly laughs out of them, but I kept thinking that your name looked familiar. This episode finally triggered it when you said you had made point and click games in the past. A quick web search later and I was deep in my memories of your Trilby games. I remembered them quite fondly and put them on a Bonus CD I used to send to Ebay customers who bought old adventure games from me. A couple of them commented that the games on the Bonus CD were better than the actual game they bought. Glad to see you still doing video game stuff!
I love the written dialogue in these videos, the advent calendar one has to be one of my favorites.
the velociraptor metaphor is very accurate
He frustrates me so much sometimes but its SO DAMN FUNNY
...at my old school, we actually did get points for writing your name at the top of the quiz.
Mostly because it was fun to laugh at the idiots who forgot to do it :3
Yahtzee has never been a school teacher luckily
if you forget your name, you should go to a "special" school
I liked it.
Good, very good.
It would have been a waste of a bullet...
Thanks...
Sorry, I thought you wouldn't have wanted to become one of those monsters.
How can you have 58,000 views on your profile if theres only 700 people on earth.
"I mean, we know how this is going to en-" WRONG!
To be fair, only two episodes were out at the time. To any non Telltale worker, his ending was just as likely as Dan Hibiki showing up in the game to fight the zombies. There was no way of knowing, so anything might happen.
Jack Young I'd play the hell out of that game.
***** It'd be a crime not to.
Jack Young which is why he should have held off on predicting it and maybe try playing it a little further.
jigsaw117able
Oh, I agree with that, but he needed to review something and this was fairly popular. I'd say it was just down to convenience.
I love how he sets up these ending predictions and the ending is neither. EVERYONE FUCKING DIES! (Not literally everyone, but practically) and the most vulnerable character is left in a field in tears going, "well.... fuck!"
Man, the opening part about point and click games always makes me laugh so hard I hurt myself. I hope Yahtzee never changes
I'm so happy to hear that they got recognition and awards! the Chzo Mythos series are some of my favorite horror games, period. I love the characters and the expanse and the plot and the references that aren't just 'oh look at that it's like this' but are incorporated in fresh new ways.
1:20
Prediction of Telltale's bankrupcy.
Jeez.
So there wasn’t time left in the day anymore...
8 years later. Still in my top 10 zero punctuatios
I was searching for a Zero Punctuation on 'Wolf Among Us' and was surprised that there wasn't one.
Your predictions for a ending where so far fetched from the actual ending, I need to play through the game again to support my mind that I didn't hallucinate the entire thing and end up making it, then getting sued for copy right.
You'd be surprised how the SEASON ended haha
To use his own vernacular the end was balls tighteningly fantastic.
The advert I was offered after watching this was one of those shitty games on the iPhone that you love so much. Great vids ✌🏻🤣
1:12-1:23 guess there wasn't any time left in the day.
LEMONADE!!!
I loved how the ending stops them from milking almost any part of the original story but clementine
i didn't help Duck at the beginning of the game, I thought "the adult can do more to help the group, I'll help him" but he died anyway...
Actually none of those endings happened.
Well technically Clementine and those two other guys did make it out whether not they survived into the second season is a wholly different matter. So technically he was correct
Actually, in my play-through of the second season, the one bloke dies and the other chick is hinted at to be dead, but if I know TTG, it's that she's not and she'll probably try and hunt me down for my buttocks later on.
So very funny, especially at the end credits! :D
Ben did Trilby's Notes? I loved that game and the rest of that series too, glad I've subscribed.
Yea, I think Kenny might be my least favorite character. Every logical decision I make, he takes as a personal offense. I didn't mean to pick a fight with him in Episode 3, though, and I would always be there to put down his turning son so he wouldn't have to.
really kennys method of thinking is all the way the the other way he's also the type of man who says he can make the tough choices but if its his family he goes into denial
Interestingly, I sided with Kenny on almost every decision. (Including the murder, although I was kind of itching to get rid of the old guy myself at that point.)
But I didn't kill Duck for him. I MEANT to, but my game crashed, and when I restarted it I pressed the wrong damn button in my haste, so I ended up watching a sobbing Kenny put down his only kin. And that killed me inside.
But I didn't restart the game after that. It had been a mistake. And I felt rotten about it. But I felt like it added something to it for me. I could look back on a decision and honestly say "I'm sorry - if I could do it over, I would."
It made it feel more real.
Yahtzee wanted to eat Duck. Why doesn't that surprise me?
I don't even want to see his playthrough, poor Clementine must have been traumatized. Or cannibalized XD! Don't eat Clem and Duck, Yahtzee, eat Larry! Larry fancies himself sarcastic and wiseass, but you could eat him alive and spit his bones XD!
...O_O' Oh no. I forgot about episode two. I shouldn't have suggested that to HIM after THAT episode. This ain't gonna end well...
DeathMessenger1988 Fuck Kenny and his whole family.
Miyamoto Musashi And whatsherfaces dad...
Miyamoto Musashi
Geez, who are you, Bill Carver?
DeathMessenger1988 I didn't play season 2
+DeathMessenger1988 To be fair, being named "Duck" or "Clementine" really isn't helping their case...
The amount of foreshadowing (The discussion of the ending as well as the talk of cannibalism...)
I like how he talks about the game being railroady when the third episode is about being on a train.
Oh boy, yahtzee, you guessed wrong. Main likable character dies, second likable character gets separated from all.
Why is the lower jaw the first thing zombies lose?
Is it from trying to eat really, really tall sandwiches?
Ah... no.
That would be the jumbo-jawbreakers.
I imagine it would be easier to bite open someone's skull with a curved knife than a pair of pliers...
the muscles around the jaw are relatively weak since they are hinged
I lost it at "it took four or five chops." Ow, my laughing parts.
"laughing parts" Yahtzee worthy right there
It's a shame he never finished it. Would like to see his reaction to the stitching scene in Season 2 if this axe bit made him cringe.
Oh, it’s that kind of jam
XD you're so wrong about the ending
Not his fault, he released this vid before the ending even existed
***** I know but if he had investigated a little about TWD before doing this review, he'd know that there's no happy ending or cure in TWD universe, also he was obviously aware that the ending didn't existed so he shouldn't have tried to predict the ending in such a definitive way if he didn't wanted people to be saying he was wrong if it didn't turn out to be true.
***** Well, Yahtzee is also heavily heavily biased against zombie apocalypses. Also, "there's no happy ending or cure in TWD universe"? Isn't that the entire point of a zombie cure? That it doesn't exist yet and the protagonists have to find it first?
***** Oh, i'm new to his channel so i didn't know that, alsoTWD is more focused on the human part of the zombie apocalypse, the zombies are just an excuse to put the survivors through difficult moments and show what people are capable of in order to survive, Robert Kirkman (the creator) has said that there will never be a cure or an explanation of how it all started since it's not important for him, also the survivors had pretty much accepted that this is their new world and they have to learn how to survive in it.
Well TARINunit9, what's the definition of a 'prediction', he was wrong about his prediction. What's the point of the prediction if he knows how it ends lol.
Turns out they couldn’t keep them selves afloat...
F
That leg-chopping was fuuuun... The arm chop was pretty cool too.
Especially on your own.
Ooohhhh espeeecially on your own.
Huh. So the way Yahtzee saw that choice in the drugstore was a question of "Who needed more help?" and in his head, it was obviously Doug, because he was being grabbed by several zombies whereas Carley only had one holding onto her foot.
But I saw it more as "Whose gonna be more useful?" and in my head it was "nerd with no zombie-killing skills or chick with firepower and plenty of zombie kills"?
So saving Carley was a no-brainer.
I didn't save the kid. I was thinking about the group as a whole so I figured I should save the person who is most likely to be useful in the future and kids in a zombie apocalypse are nothing but trouble.
Not that the kid was likeable anyway.
+Alex Martinez you didn't like Duck?! You monster!
do you live under a rock most of the fanbase hates duck
+colin3ds He asked for me to high five him and instantly became my favorite character. Aside from Doug and Clem
Patrick Harrison I was always neutral when he came to duck and my first few playthroughs of season 1 I saved Carly and left Doug now I realize that was a mistake I played through season 1 2 days ago and saved Doug and he was funnier nicer and more useful than Carly and
Everyone in the walking dead game fan base who hates clementine is gone now
For my crimes, i decided to make this the first game i would play through on my new channel (this one). I find myself following the story as it's a first time play for me, but so far so good. I didn't save the girl, and i think i made the right choice. The guy is good with electronics, and the girl didn't know to check for batteries in the radio.
Probably wont get many views, but it's a good way to cut my teeth, as it were.
+Huck's Gaming channel Actually the girl is your love interest.
LuigiDoesStuff Not in my play through lol.
i did the same but because she knew your secret
Huck's Gaming channel That's 'cause she's dead, ya bugger.
LuigiDoesStuff Could always keep her head in a bag ;)
That lip smacking noise is amazing
I strongly vote and encourage you to review every single episode of telltale's walking dead games. Season 1, 400 days, S2, Michonne, and a new frontier. The story and choices carry over from one to the next like mass effect etc. Except michonne is standalone and separate. I love your series and your dark souls / blood borne reviews made me really appreciate your opinions because those are my obsession, but TT TWD games are pure gold in story and character development and you doing a per episode review would make my heart explode. They have a fourth final season coming too. Each episode's plot would be worth hearing your reactions as you progress without knowing what's next. Us fanboys have a two-three month wait between episodes so the story anticipation is tense but you'd be lucky enough to fly thru all of them. Anyways, i don't comment on things often but wanted to say I would love to see you do episodic reviews of all the new style telltale games (except Minecraft Story mode... it's lame). They really flipped their style with twd s1 and created a wonderful modern way of telling a choose your adventure story that perfectly captures the tone of the series they expand on. Just throwing this out there in hopes of reshaping the future to contain some more amazing zero punctuation videos. Thanks for reading, if you do, and please consider my idea. I'd probably be amused enough to figure out how to donate so there's you some incentive lol. Love your vids, later bruh.
i only played part of the first episode before i got bored of it, but during the thing where you have to choose to save the kid or the adult at the farm.. I chose to save the adult... cause I figured fuck him, the adult would be more helpful against zombies then a kid would.. and then the guy got pissed fro letting his kid die.. some people.. lol
You have some impressive attention span. Let me guess, did you also got bored and quit playing half-life before you even got off the train?
Bolek Lolek Or maybe he has, ya'know, free reign to like or dislike whatever? Besides, your statement implies that he isn't allowed to get bored quickly. Despite not knowing him besides text on a screen.
Bolek Lolek i've never played half-life.. i only play console games.. i don't have a short attention span.. i usually finish games that are actually fun.. but walking dead wasn't a fun game
Bolek Lolek I must say Half-Life 1 is a pretty boring game unless you were referring to Half-Life 2 in which case be more specific.
But the guy dies anyway and the kid survives, are you sure you played it?
I hope Yahtzee eventually did finish the Walking Dead, because he was wrong about the endings. So much so that he so much egg on his face, that you could you slap him with a frying pan and call him an omelette. Harr harr.
ooooo very yahtzeesque
That's a needlessly complicated chant you got there, Peter.
vladmir pootis there, I fixed it. Happy?
+Wuffletronics Then one of them died and ones missing and depending on what choices you make another one of them dies.
I am in the middle of season two, and still hopeful of that lemonade. I just wished I liked lemonade.
Jam and Mogworld were both amazing.
Actually....... I chose to save the adult, not the kid, because Duck is god damn annoying. A pity the choices in the game aren't really choices.
that one wasn't, other were like saving carly or duoge
Yeah but even if you make that choice, eventually the outcome is the same. Ultimately nothing mattered out of any choice you made in the entire game. Except slightly changing Clementine's attitude in the second game.
DGneoseeker1 yeah cause everyone dies in the end....
Pretty much, although it's been hinted that a certain someone is going to show up in episode 2 of season 2.
DGneoseeker1
boy imagine if it was duck lololol he was like "I SURVIVED CUS I HAVE NO BRAIN! YAY" no jk please no i would cry for hours
Yeah, not meaning to spoil, but saving "the kid" doesn't always end well............
It's a thing in portal "the turret uses the whole bullet that's 40% more bullet"-Cave Johnson, and so the lemon bomb would do the same thing.
You should finish all the episodes its really good
I liked the game, but the 'puzzles' were indeed a joke, and decisions really lack depth (Option A or B both lead to result C.) but the story and feeling the game had was good
Great story and characters, and very little game play at all.
I still loved it. I got very close to the characters and watching them die was very rough.
ExBruinsFan Spoilers, bud.
xSomeRandomGamer
Dude, it's a zombie apocalypse game. People gonna die. I didn't say which ones died.
Might as well just say basically everyone died because that was the end result anyway. It's the walking dead for Christs sake the same show that giveth and then taketh away x seconds later. It should be a surprise people die.
SuperInsanewolf The show sucks. The game's based off the comics and thank god for that.
I just started playing the game recently and yeah, this guy 4:24 turned out to be an asshole.
We were getting along just fine, but when I wouldn't help him bash that one guy's head in, that all changed. Now he won't help me when I'm in danger, he'll just watch as I'm about to die, he's already done it twice and I'm only a few minutes into episode three.
its really the way he thinks most people know a guy that if you dont agree with him once you seen as an enemy
To be fair that doesn't last long because everything goes tits up for Kenny and he just forgets about your differences. until Clem goes missing and Kenny makes it all about you and him and wan'ts to sit on his ass staring at a boat. If I was really there I would have punched his lights out. But you just need to remind him you saved his FUCKING KIDS LIFE and he agrees to come with. But seriously how many men, even good men, could say they gave their life for the kid who fucked it up in the first place. Twice technically I mean Clem did chop his GF's arm off trying to save her life. But i think all in all Kenny is a good man. Just a homicidal narrow-minded one.
Because in his mind you put his family at risk, and Kenny would do ANYTHING to protect his family
Nathan Gordon His family weren't in there, they were elsewhere. Granted them being eaten by Larry wouldn't have worked out so hot for his family but honesty as tough as the dude was meant to be killing him if he did turn likely wouldn't have been that hard.
vazak11 yeah but you were putting all of the people in the lockers safety at risk, and they were katjaa and ducks only hope. Plus, they wouldn't be able to kill Larry if he turned, they had no weapons
Funny how Yahtzee said all this like your "choices" actually matter in a Telltale game. Well, guess we're all wiser to it now.
Waha~aa.... John DiLancie... i get it 😂😂😂
Better than the Last of Us.
WAY better.
WAY better, yeah.
ExBruinsFan Sarcasm or no? if no, yay.
Raysiclove
No. I was being sincere. I love TWD.
ExBruinsFan Woo!
Raysiclove
Indeed. Lee, Clem, and Kenny are three of my favourite game characters ever.
I hope Kenny can survive. He's been through so much.
Aw Yahtzee...so wrong about the ending so wrong
5:11 That was the first and only time Yahtzee ate his words.
I was just drinking lemonade from Mcalisters at the end hahahaha
And now the company is dead.
Why doesn't he preview the whole season? Or the second?
He just reviewed first two episodes...
Thats all that was out at the date of the review
Jack Ream Well he couldve (shouldve) waited until the end of the season; thatd be like me eating a half cooked piece of meat, getting sick and then not eating said meat anymore because I thought itd be a good idea to try an unfinished product.
Ryan Eglian Because people were annoying the hell out of him to review the game when it came out so he did. So it's more the fault of impatient people than Yahtzee's. he might do a review of the second season but it's unlikely.
He should rereview this game now that it's finished. I want to see his reaction to the last scene where they all get lemonade.
"I thought you had my back, man" I died.
It would be nice if you actually reviewed the entire game not just Episode 1...
At the time of him reviewing it, Episode one was the only thing out if I do recall.
***** season 2 just came out so maybe he'll review it
and so Lee died
Spoilers are NOT cool, man.
karlo krajnović Ah fuck it you could spell could right too.
You know whats funny... i'm not american too.
Oi! A spoiler warning would be nice.
There are still people that hasn't completed the game yet.
If they haven't completed the game yet then there's something wrong with them like they've broken their fingers out of pressing the buttons to god damn hard or they're just to busy to properly give a damn. And besides its the walking dead it shouldn't be a spoiler that everyone fucking dies in it because its the walking fucking dead its not rainbows and unicorns here only death and desolation.
Why did I not know that you made the Chzo Mythos games? Now I feel dumb. I loved watching DeceasedCrab play through them.
The ending made me cry
