For sure. I am a bit of a weird guy. I can appreciate single player games for the most part, but I don't play them. Overall Devil May Cry and Prince of Persia were the only franchises completed through and through. Otherwise played bunch of singles, but I usually ditch them. Darksiders 2 I downloaded one day out of nowhere and I just played the whole game for 2-3 days or whatever. It was an incredible game with great combat and atmosphere. I even remember a few decently hard puzzles in there. Just the fact I finished it already places is high among my list of top hack & slash games. Haven't even finished Witcher 3 yet.

Don’t let this video sell this game’s story short. Honestly it’s a bit baffling because the story is all there, and it’s pretty amazing. Extremely deep lore - maybe Dude didn’t pay a whole lot of attention but there are plenty of surprises, double crosses, and A-HA moments. I believe there’s even a book series. Anyway the way the first and second game have their lore connected together is one of my favorite things about the series.
Darksiders 2, my favorite out of the Darksiders franchise. The pacing is good, the combat is great and Death is badass, arguably the strongest horseman out of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse.
@@godofdeath8785 - I was thinking to get Darksiders 3 as I haven't played it yet. Is it as bad as some reviews make it out to be? I know the reviews complained about bad camera angles that messed things up quite a bit.
@@IKARIANOFFICIAL I know I’m a little late to this conversation but I would say the combat in dark cider three does take a hour or two to get used to but once you do the game is fluid and fun but it does have a different feel to it compared to the speed of numbers one and two I enjoyed my time with Darksiders three and I would recommend it to any Darksiders fan if you do play it learn the Dodge timings
I did the same mistake.. I played and loved Darksiders 1. But skipped 2, because... I don't know why. Now I want to play it, and complete it. Death is a great character and the combat is freaking awesome! I feel the same way about Mad Max. got avarage reviews, nobody played it, but I absolutely loved every minute of it
Advice to All players of this game - this is arcade style game. You go level by level and beat the crap out of anything in your way. This is why I love this game. This is NOT AC world game. Open world is just to get from point A to point B. If you just want to hack and slash like me, it is outstanding.
The gameplay itself is fine. It's the fact that it runs like shit is the problem. I would always highly recommend this game. It's a fully focused Zelda game that doesn't waste your time. Even the sidequests are designed so you can get them out of the way while you're doing the main quests.
"The story is the 'save the princess' type of affair." Imagine War in princess Peach's dress and tiara. Oh and the music you mentioned was either The Guardian or Stains of Heresy.
Well, War is also clearing his own name, saving himself and breaking the seals to summon his brothers and sister to his aid upon the Shattered Earth in DS1.
I HAVE TOO GO ALONE, THIS IS NO PLACE FOR A HORSE I HAVE TOO GO ALONE, THIS IS NO PLACE FOR A HORSE I HAVE TOO GO ALONE, THIS IS NO PLACE FOR A HORSE I HAVE TOO GO ALONE, THIS IS NO PLACE FOR A HORSE. "Horse Squealing."
Darksiders 2 is actually on the list of highest budget games with a budget of 50 million dollars. Now, that includes marketing, but it's still on the list.
This one dragged on but I'm glad to have played it because the presentation, designs, and bosses were freaking cool. That ship pulled by the giant snake things was my favorite.
The game “journalists” gave it a bad score because they can’t jump properly in Cuphead, hence not enough brain cells to complete a single puzzle in this game.
Darksiders 1 is more like classic Zelda than this game. This game sort of feels more like a typical western action RPG while Darksiders 1 actually had more labyrinthian, themed dungeons like Zelda where you constantly get new specific tools to get through each dungeon's gimmick.
I have a few comments. 1. That dip in quality near the end was the crunch THQ was putting on Vigil, Lost Light and Shadows Edge was supposed to be bigger in size, like Forgelands or Kingdom of the Dead. So if anyone is to blame, blame the old school THQ, but at the same time bankruptcy was looming over them so I can't be too hard. There are also 3 DLC levels which were released after which look incredible if you haven't played them yet. 2. 1 crash throughout the whole playthrough is pretty good compared to a lot of other games I've played on PS4. Should they strive for better? Of course but I usually look at one crash as a fluke, now if there is a pattern where if I walked in a specific area or do a specific action and it crashes each time, then yeah they weren't paying attention when developing the game. 3. As for the Crucible, I think it jumps in difficulty at certain waves because you unlocked each set of waves after beating certain world. As someone going for platinum trophy I was getting frustrated when I kept dying at the final wave which was a giant difficulty spike. (Until someone told me to change difficulty in options, then I said fuck it). This is a good review otherwise, I'm surprised you didn't mention the wall jumping segment in the City of the Dead where the camera wouldn't follow you and you just had to guess when to stop. Maybe I was the only one experiencing this, I also had a bug with a sidequest where I had to kill these shadow creatures but one of them didn't count and they never respawn once killed so I had to playthrough again to finish sidequests. Sorry for the paragraphs lol.
1. Yeah the last realm was super short and kinda disappointing compared to the others 2. I 100% agree 3. Idk man maybe it was just me but the Crucible wasn't that difficult. There was only one enemy I struggled against and that was wave 75, fk that bastard I hate him with a passion both in the crucible and in the overworld. (If you know you know)
I had hardly even heard of this franchise before i played Darksiders 2 for the first time. I was BLOWN AWAY within the first half hour due to the awesome soundtrack when you fight your way through the icy landscape and fight the Crowfather. Such a good franchise.
I watched all the RUclips reviews of this game and this is the best one so far. Been playing this game on and off for a month now and I really really love it as long as I don’t overdo it. A few dungeons a week is perfect for me, I do however miss the much better story of darksiders 1. Darksiders 1 also had so much better back stories for the bosses, felt way more epic in a sense. Here I don’t even know why am killing the bosses except for progressing in the game. Also there is a lot of fetch quest within fetch quests. Like get 3 of these but do that you must defeat 3 of those but to defeat those you must gather 3 of something else and I end up just thinking wtf 😰😂
The devs really poured their heart and soul into this game, so much so that they went bankrupt. Luckily it gave birth to THQNordic though so, we got Biomutant 😁
IMO crucible is the best thing in this game cause you can play it during and after finishing the game which provides rewards that can help you while leveling and test your skills after you finish the story plus the hidden boss at the end. I am not aware of the bug you mentioned.
Fair enough. But I went into it mid game and it just hurt my pride and soul :D If one understands the stat system fully and has good gear, then the curcible is surely fun, why not.
My biggest problem with this game is exploration and quests. Dungeons are fun solving the first time you visit, but on revisits it's pain to go through them. Especially when you hunt for quest things like stones or pages or whatever trinkets you need to find. I had similar problem with first Darksiders, but there at least you can find treasure maps and closer to the end you can use legendary enchantment to easily find everything you missed. I really wish second game had something similar since NG+ carries on your progress and resets every side quest which means whatever reward you missed on first playthrough is missed permanently and on hardest difficulty for NG+ you need every single stat increase you can get. I guess I'm not a fan of RPG element as well. Loot system is nice, but this means you will not have any kind of memorable items to look for. Possessed weapons pretty much kills any satisfaction of getting unique weapons. With armor you will most likely try to get abyssal set and some talismans with resistances to cover all your needs. Leveling system is also makes you think you get stronger, but it's only applies to early game as enemies keep leveling with you, so you constantly need to upgrade gear and level you possessed weapons to make fights feasible. In terms of story, characters and combat I like everything. With this game Death is my favorite horse rider to play as. Combat mechanics are great and feels smooth to use. I really wish this game was refined a little more for a better experience.
Just as a note, Darksiders 2's metascore is actually way higher than 72. 72 is the score of the latest "remake", which is criticised for not fixing any bugs and making some things worse. Darksiders 2 is an amazing game and it is one of my favourites. I keep saying in my friend groups every time I have the chance, but the new god of war series have so much inspiration from this game which no one admits.
If the game would have really gotten a couple more bug passes over the years. I think the game would have been a bit more popular. Nobody likes to be 10+ hours into a save file and get hit with a softlock forcing a restart you know.
Over a decade ago I played the darksiders 1 demo over and over again because I loved it so much and finally bought the game probably a year or two later (a kid with no job begging parents...) I've played darksiders 1 several times and enjoy it every time, but still to this day I have never tried darksiders 2. I finally bought it yesterday and going to try it soon after I finish replaying darksiders 1 (again)
Like those kind of reviews. Reminds of reviews from small RUclipsrs from the late 2000s and early 2010s. I only played the first Darksiders (two times through) and had a blast. Never gave the second one a chance because the level design and dialogue wheels put me off. Now I got it on Switch 12 years later after its original release and appreciate it more than I did when it came out. What I liked about the first Darksiders is that the levels were connected to interactive corridors that either had arena fights or puzzles and platforming to proceed. In Darksiders 2 there is too much empty space that doesn't fit the gameplay at all but what I heard is that it becomes increasingly smaller and more linear after the first and second world.
Great job on doing this review! Really in-depth analysis on every aspect of this game. I'm currently playing it on the switch. Having a blast despite the frame rate issues, still, the gameplay keeps me hook. Truly an underrated game. Hopefully they release Darksiders 3 on the switch
The game is good for sure but the the Pc port on Steam has a bad otimization,They promised a big update and it has more than 5 years and nothing. There is a public beta that fixed a big crash but they didn't update it for the main game.
a tip for the cruicible part(i dont remember the exact name) you can easily easily pass the 100 stage with a possessed weapon that has life steal/wrath steal how to get those? i will tell you Case 1 (you have a possessed weapon with place to put in the 2 stats mentioned above): feed it with a weapon that has has life steal/ wrath steal and it will get that from it or go to vulgrim and but "Legacy artifact" and feed it to the possessed weapon it will then give you 2 random stats options, if you didnt get a stat that you want just dont accept it, go the skill page or any other page and then return to the page of the equipment then the process will be cancelled and you can start again, you don't lose anything from doing this, repeat this until you get any stat you want) Case 2 (buy from vulgrim a possessed weapon then repeat as case 1) Case 3 (there is a red talisman that you will get near the end) if you put on this talisman, any normal weapon that drops from monsters will turn into a possessed weapon a tip: if your possessed weapon is now low level like for example lvl 13 and you now are lvl 15, just drop it then pick it up and it will become lvl 15 you literally can finish all the game with side quest and additional campagins using only 1 weapon xD another tip: you now know how to put the stats that you want on your weapon, the 2 other stats i use are execution chance and reaper energy on crit, and you can annihilate the game while using unstoppable and harvest always with infinite health and wrath ^_^
My favorite part of the game was when you got to lvl 18 or something, a vendor would sell a weapon with health on damage perk which you can only once and put it onto a possessed weapon.
Loved the review! Must say tho, as an Assassin's Creed fan since 2007, thinking of someone only discovering Jesper Kyd so recently and not in AC2 sounds crazy lol
I liked the video but ig for me i didn't get how the game isn't story driven. Almost every character you meet has something to say about the goal of the game or the world but I'm glad you are defending the game in some aspect.
I'm still playing Darksiders 2 as of today. I wish that they could do a remake of the game ( or at least a remaster ) . I love everything : the characters, the artistic direction, the interconnected open world, the gameplay. Plus at 9:25, do that golden environnement ( Lostlight ) reminds you of something ? For sure, in that unknown game dropped in 2022, there's that location called Leyndell, very similar.
What I found enjoyable in Darksiders II, especialy after playing the previous game... is how charismatic the characters are! What describes Darksiders I is definitely the word "Statuesque", every character is stoic, serious and focused, but on the sequel, a lot of characters are... chill. Death packs a lot more sass in his words, like this moment he says "and how we are gonna do that?" in that sarcastic questioning voice or when you can't pick up a potion because you're maxed out, his "Impossible" have a slight laughter in it. Hearing those charactes speak is entertaining on it's own because just how unique and charismatic they are. And their voices are also really unique, they don't sound like humans AT ALL, and thats a compliment.
I‘m just replaying it on PS4 right now. It’s still amazing. And the crashes… you can trigger them and I see why it’s frustrating but it’s very much avoidable. The game crashes for me a 100% of the time if I’m rolling right into a level border (those very short loading sequences between areas) and if I’m rolling plus hitting the menu button right after a boss fight or cutscene. Once I knew and avoided this the game never crashed for me again.
i remember seeing the disc laying around in my room and I was finally like: “i should try it out”. It was my older brother’s game who also gave me a couple other games to play like Batman Arkham City, GTA, and halo (he would borrow games from his friends and let me play them too). I finally played it and I kinda enjoyed it. I never played rpg’s before but it was cool. Only problem is that I never got passed the beginning. About 7 years later… Im thinkin about buying it again and beating it this time
DS2 is my top open world because of the time it was made and the work that went into not only the physical attributes, but the amount of weapons and crafting is unbelievable for its time! There's also many, many different bad guys and that in itself is refreshing! I know for a fact if they would make another Dark siders that had the Rpg & openworld with today's tech, I'd rush out in a Blizzard to purchase it! Plus the Nostalgia alone would be worth the purchase in itself.
Nope, the guardian boss music. I don't think it's included in thr OST. There's a track called Corruption, but that's a different arrangement. You can find it on YT by simply searching for "darksiders 2 guardian boss music" :)

Darksiders 2 is a forgotten masterpiece. The amount of epicness in this game is insane. The visual style, character and environment designs, voice acting, story, dialogues and that incredible soundtrack!! It has fantastic atmosphere, it constantly surprises and never looses its grip and it has so many absolutely epic moments. There is just no other game like it. And you play as Death! thanks a lot, very kind of you. However, I'm not going to be focusing on reviews in the future, if you considered subscribing for those. Just a heads up. Gaming content - definitely, what exactly is still in the works
What makes ds2 such a good game is because, well, simply put they dont make games like these anymore. It scratches that particular itch which is destined to go unscratched
Not like Zelda ...? It's totally a Zelda /God of War/Prince of Persia genetic monster child. Can't wait to play it, I am playing part one right now. What's weird is I've had both games for years yet never stayed into it . It's so weird but for some reason I like these ports to handheld better. I'm a weirdo 🤪 Great review man.

I just watched this video to see a bit of what is waiting for me after the first Darksiders and a lot of things are the same, but honestly I felt very curious playing War’s story and it was very interesting for a lot of reasons. I don’t agree with bad ratings and reviews but this one I feel like is the perfect one, talking objectively, comparing the first game of the series sensations. Hope it will bring some fun!
I thought I would love darksiders 2 aswell after playing the first one and watching this video, In fact i just bought it and i hope i can save you from going through the same thing i did. it’s horrible. the combat sucks, the movement is worse, and just so many other things i don’t even have the time or patience to type. This is me trying to save you from wasting your money. The people that love this game love it because of nostalgia, not because it’s good.
I loved loved Darksiders 1 and followed development news for Darksiders 2 very closely. I enjoyed all the puzzles, combat and boss battles. They took a lot of gameplay mechanics from other games like Zelda, Prince of persia and God of War.
I was too young when i played this for the first time i think i played maybe 6 hours total and gave it up but i picked up the deathinotive edition and im EXCITED but i have a question. How do i know when i have/will be entering a dungeon?
Love this analysis and love the game so far. But you said it didn’t remind you of Zelda, then went on to describe the dungeons and play-thru that sounds just like Zelda. Zelda 1: using items found in dungeons to solve the dungeon. And the linear gameplay of “half-open-world/half-linear-courses” is evident in every Zelda game of the past… This game is Skyward Sword with monsters. Again, great vid, great analysis, just give credit where it’s due. 🤙
happy to own 1&2. I love 2, but sometimes the puzzles did get frustrating (Only towards the end for me) but it is indeed a solid 8 for me. I prefer the first games inclusion of puzzles. I think it had a more fair amount.
To this day, this game had the best overall gameplay in the main trilogy, and it all comes down to the gearing and dungeons. Somehow Darksiders 3 managed to throw it all away to be a trash Souls clone with a trash plot instead. An absolute tragedy.
I was told back in the day that the first Darksiders was like Zelda and God of War so I played it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Got the second game and enjoyed it even more! 😃👍
You got some pretty good points but I strongly disagree with the loss of quality towards the end. The biggest fall in quality comes with the Earth, but than it picks up with 2 best dungeons (Lost Temple and Black Stone) and great conclusion in the end. Anyway you're first one I saw to delve a bit deeper into the stat system in this game and I really appreciate that, because it's big part of being good in this game. Even though I feel like it's a bit imbalanced towards the later stages of the game, Harbinger builds with emphasis on crit. chance and crit. dmg are outright broken especially if you're lucky enough to get lifesteal on possessed weapons, than it's just cheating :D Great content, you've earned yourself a new sub :)
Yes, I can name the soundtracks you played. I do listen them from time to time though so its not like I did not heard them since 2012 =) Regarding game reception it was made during the era when plenty of very good games were made, and economy crisis was happening. Plenty of really good games lost money or barely break even back then. Video games take a lot of time and money to make, couple of years after 2012 there was a huge, HUGE drop in games quality. And publishers forced developers to add microtransactions and lootbox casinos everywhere. Not to mention that Darksiders 2 had a lot of issues so it was not like an absolute masterpiece. Combat had many issues. Dungeon crawling gets a bit too repetitive (1-st and especially 2nd worlds are too long). The way plot unfolds is more like "hero on a quest" kind of plot rather than more intensive story one which not everybody liked. And it was very different from Darksiders 1 (which is not the bad thing by its own but pushed many fans of the original game away). I guess you can say that we were spoiled by the "golden age" of video games that was late 2000-th - early 2010th.
so imo Bone storm kinda sucks bad because it's only ever good on lesser enemies since the bigger ones just tanks it and I still get hit in that form and die(i played the game on deathinitive so yeah). Frenzy on the other hand utilizes maximum wrath so the more wrath points more skull and the higher the arcane, arcane crit chance/strike the more it just melts the enemies including bigger enemies and bosses. combine that with wrath steal on scythes and fist weapons and you're the ultimate glass cannon.

Darksiders 2, my favorite out of the Darksiders franchise. The pacing is good, the combat is great and Death is badass, arguably the strongest horseman out of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse.
Same I prefer Darksiders 2 over Darksiders and Darksiders 3 though I love them too
@@godofdeath8785 - I was thinking to get Darksiders 3 as I haven't played it yet. Is it as bad as some reviews make it out to be? I know the reviews complained about bad camera angles that messed things up quite a bit.
The combat is far from great.
Lets not forget the sass oozing out of death in some situations.
And my god the soundtracks in this game❤️.. Jesper Kidd is a genius.
Darksiders series always been slept on by people it has amazing characters, story and gameplay and even voice acting
solid review , one of the best games ive played .
Yup same here :D
Same
I played everz Darksiders with my dad together ofcourse he showed me it
🔥
Wait, what ? Glad you got to play it.
I'm sorry I've got an image in my head of War dressed up as a princess. Anyway, this game is phenomenal. I've loved every minute of it.
He's in another castle.
I love this game so much. It has probably the best soundtrack of any game I've ever played.
I like it to 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I am loving this game. Just picked it up again.
the biggest negative thing of this game are the 30 fps , that just sucks for a "remasteted" or " definitive edition"
12:50 The Guardian .
Another amazing one is Corruption ,especially the second part you hear outside the Tree of Life .
I did the same mistake.. I played and loved Darksiders 1. But skipped 2, because... I don't know why. Now I want to play it, and complete it. Death is a great character and the combat is freaking awesome!
I feel the same way about Mad Max. got avarage reviews, nobody played it, but I absolutely loved every minute of it
You on PS4?
@@Necrophadez Ps5
The worse part of the 4 games is the techinal flaws
Best darksiders 2 review I've seen
oof... haha, that's too kind, thank you :)
Well, there's this one 3 hour video, but that's arguably more of an analysis than a review.
Also, Death get more annoyed as the game goes on and thats something I appreciated
Death is actually player when NPCS gave us a quest
"The story is the 'save the princess' type of affair."
Imagine War in princess Peach's dress and tiara.
Oh and the music you mentioned was either The Guardian or Stains of Heresy.
Well, War is also clearing his own name, saving himself and breaking the seals to summon his brothers and sister to his aid upon the Shattered Earth in DS1.
PS.
This is no place for a horse
"I have to go alone..." Death.
"No... Not alone..."war
*Death jumps on wars back and continues to fight the guardian*
I HAVE TOO GO ALONE, THIS IS NO PLACE FOR A HORSE I HAVE TOO GO ALONE, THIS IS NO PLACE FOR A HORSE I HAVE TOO GO ALONE, THIS IS NO PLACE FOR A HORSE I HAVE TOO GO ALONE, THIS IS NO PLACE FOR A HORSE. "Horse Squealing."
"I am the horse."
"ImPOSSIBLE!!"
I am glad to know I'm not the only one slowly edge walked as death
The game “journalists” gave it a bad score because they can’t jump properly in Cuphead, hence not enough brain cells to complete a single puzzle in this game.
Darksiders 1 is more like classic Zelda than this game. This game sort of feels more like a typical western action RPG while Darksiders 1 actually had more labyrinthian, themed dungeons like Zelda where you constantly get new specific tools to get through each dungeon's gimmick.
Dark Siders two was very good, but the game is empty, and when you are trying to sell a game to a billion people it cant be empty
1. Yeah the last realm was super short and kinda disappointing compared to the others
2. I 100% agree
Better review than IGN lol
Darksiders 1 is still peak for me. Darksiders 2 was great if slow. Darksiders 3 was fine but I'm not into the combat or respawning enemies.
This game is a *Masterpiece*
Yea the lore is pretty hidden but if u watch some yt videos you’ll get it
Darksiders 1 will forever have a place in my mind
So if darksiders 1 has a place in your mind does darksiders 2 have the place in your heart? Well Death is often portrayed as a bride so...
Same bro it is my favourite
The devs really poured their heart and soul into this game, so much so that they went bankrupt. Luckily it gave birth to THQNordic though so, we got Biomutant 😁
I just got it yesterday and i was hooked I have never played a game like this begore and it's amazing.
music during guardian fight - simply awesome!
Better than professional reviews
Thank you, very kind :)
The Crucible is sick. It's quite long though although the wisecracking and goofy Wicked K made it worth it
My biggest problem with this game is exploration and quests.
Biblical mythology mixed with zelda, prince of perisa, and other things. There motto is Combat Puzzles Exploration as the focus
It’s a shame that these game on a technical level don’t stand up to the promise
Over a decade ago I played the darksiders 1 demo over and over again because I loved it so much and finally bought the game probably a year or two later (a kid with no job begging parents...)
I've played darksiders 1 several times and enjoy it every time, but still to this day I have never tried darksiders 2. I finally bought it yesterday and going to try it soon after I finish replaying darksiders 1 (again)
Well? How'd it go?
The thing that I can’t avoid mentioning about the game, it has a lot of content, and it’s so surprising! It’s amazing!
Music from the guardian boss fight was perfection...
The game is good for sure but the the Pc port on Steam has a bad otimization,They promised a big update and it has more than 5 years and nothing. There is a public beta that fixed a big crash but they didn't update it for the main game.
a tip for the cruicible part(i dont remember the exact name)
you can easily easily pass the 100 stage with a possessed weapon that has life steal/wrath steal
how to get those? i will tell you
Case 1 (you have a possessed weapon with place to put in the 2 stats mentioned above): feed it with a weapon that has has life steal/ wrath steal and it will get that from it or go to vulgrim and but "Legacy artifact" and feed it to the possessed weapon it will then give you 2 random stats options, if you didnt get a stat that you want just dont accept it, go the skill page or any other page and then return to the page of the equipment then the process will be cancelled and you can start again, you don't lose anything from doing this, repeat this until you get any stat you want)
Case 2 (buy from vulgrim a possessed weapon then repeat as case 1)
Case 3 (there is a red talisman that you will get near the end) if you put on this talisman, any normal weapon that drops from monsters will turn into a possessed weapon
a tip: if your possessed weapon is now low level like for example lvl 13 and you now are lvl 15, just drop it then pick it up and it will become lvl 15 you literally can finish all the game with side quest and additional campagins using only 1 weapon xD
another tip: you now know how to put the stats that you want on your weapon, the 2 other stats i use are execution chance and reaper energy on crit, and you can annihilate the game while using unstoppable and harvest always with infinite health and wrath ^_^
My favorite part of the game was when you got to lvl 18 or something, a vendor would sell a weapon with health on damage perk which you can only once and put it onto a possessed weapon.
Loved the review! Must say tho, as an Assassin's Creed fan since 2007, thinking of someone only discovering Jesper Kyd so recently and not in AC2 sounds crazy lol
its like Zelda but more advance with weapon and spells upgrade with a bit of assasins creed
I liked the video but ig for me i didn't get how the game isn't story driven. Almost every character you meet has something to say about the goal of the game or the world but I'm glad you are defending the game in some aspect.
3:03 "I don't really see alot of zelda" clearly you weren't destroying those pots man!
I didn't skip on it because I loved the first one and Death in this looks very much like Raziel from Soul Reaver, another one of my favorite series.
Death kind or looks like Raziel from Legacy of Kain ngl
I'm almost done with the game and it's so amazing
I'm still playing Darksiders 2 as of today. I wish that they could do a remake of the game ( or at least a remaster ) . I love everything : the characters, the artistic direction, the interconnected open world, the gameplay. Plus at 9:25, do that golden environnement ( Lostlight ) reminds you of something ? For sure, in that unknown game dropped in 2022, there's that location called Leyndell, very similar.
This game has you running around in dungeons, hacking"n slashing
Got this free on Prime a while back but wasn't sure if it was worth downloading. Very well made/organized vid, you sold me on it. Thanks!
I may be alone in this but I honestly prefer the first darksiders. 2 isn't bad though
You deserve more views, your vids are great.
Thank you for the kind words :)
it's character driven and the overall story is spread across all the games or should i say plot.
Plus the Nostalgia alone would be worth the purchase in itself.
the nostalgia is the only thing that makes it worth anything, the game sucks
@@user-bz6ri6ou8jwhat nostalgia? I just bought it, and it's great
Was it Stains of Heresy? The Archon music
Nope, the guardian boss music. I don't think it's included in thr OST. There's a track called Corruption, but that's a different arrangement.
You can find it on YT by simply searching for "darksiders 2 guardian boss music" :)
THIS IS THE BEST RPG GAME FOR ME THAT I EVER PPLAYED. FUCK WITCHER. THE SHEER AMOUNT OF WEAPONS, COMBOS AND THE AWESOME PUZZLES, ENCREDIBLE VOICE ACTING , NICE STORY, AND THE MILLION WAYS YOU CAN DESTROY YOUR ENEMIES, NO GAME COMES CLOSE. AND DONT GET ME STARTED ABOUT THE SOUNDTRACK...
Yoo I 101 percent agree with you I just could not get into the witcher but this is this shit

Its the only game where even such thing as opening a door is epic. Sure its not perfect, but I love this game so much.
Who's here cos of ps5 upgrade? Bought this on ps4 ages ago, and never got around to playing it. Now with this free uograde, gives me a reason to dive in. Thanks for your take!
On my top 3 fav games i played all Darksiders games with my dad together untill today i wait for the 4th Darksiders
Although this was a year ago
The necromancer ultimate gains more attacks the more you wraith bar is filled and on small enemies can hit them in the ceiling making you able to focus on a tougher enemy
I liked 3 more than 2, 1 is my favorite.
Smhhh, you should have more subscribers with this editing and dedication... Well thank you for your review good man!
thanks a lot, very kind of you.
I've just got back from Earth. I've had the game for many years but only now I'm playing through it and I'm enjoying myself a lot!
@A Myriad of adventures. I have played this game and finished IT on PS3. Later i bought the PS4 Remastered version of Darksiders 2. Greetz.
I would take a guess at the Death meets War fight for the "OMG that music" Michael Wincott is maybe best known for Top Dollar in The Crow.
I'm a weirdo 🤪
Great review man.
it's the guardian ost XD
I love how the gameplay section had nothing to do with gameplay
I love this game to death!!! I have explored this so much over the years that I know every single location of all collectibles... No what I play I keep returning back to it
the only negative thing of this game are the 30 fps , that just sucks for a "remasteted" or " definitive edition"
I know this is an old video but I’m just finding out about this game, I just saw gameplay yesterday and never made a purchase so fast in my life….I bought the bundle that came with wild sisters 11 and Wildmaster “think that’s the name” and buying 3 today. 👌🏻
The OST is corruption
My personal fav is crowfather theme..when death fights war
I loved loved Darksiders 1 and followed development news for Darksiders 2 very closely. I enjoyed all the puzzles, combat and boss battles. They took a lot of gameplay mechanics from other games like Zelda, Prince of persia and God of War.
I think it was a good idea to get this game for 5$
definitely! For 5$ it's a gift.
I got it for 5 euros :) I haven't played it yet, it's still installing
Finished the third game, could wait till I play the second. Darksiders 3 was so soul like, while 2 still is kinda unique for me
Good review! This is my most favorite Darksiders game in the series! I've played them all but I seem to always remember this one the most!
Even though I feel like it's a bit imbalanced towards the later stages of the game, Harbinger builds with emphasis on crit. chance and crit. dmg are outright broken especially if you're lucky enough to get lifesteal on possessed weapons, than it's just cheating :D
Great content, you've earned yourself a new sub :)
Yes, I can name the soundtracks you played. I do listen them from time to time though so its not like I did not heard them since 2012 =)
Regarding game reception it was made during the era when plenty of very good games were made, and economy crisis was happening.
