The final scene “No, not alone” is still one of my favorites of all finales. I could not wait for the sequel. If they ever decide to conclude it, they will have my ax… I mean money.
I think they're planning on it. Darksiders 3 and Genesis show what the other horsemen were up to during 1 and 2, so i think darksiders 4 will finally continue the story
@@momatotsosrorudodi Which he actually is. Of the 4, he's the one that constantly questions the council and their missions. Death does whatever he wants while feigning obedience, while War (unless he goes berserk) and Fury just do what needs to be done without much questioning.

@@djjaxter Enjoy the video but I really wish you would have talked about dark cider's Genesis. Striker needs more love especially when hes with war in that game
Strife still needs his time in the Spotlight with a solo entry. I’d imagine a Gunsgrave, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta style of gunplay… hopefully they complete it.
That or maybe a Vanquish/Lady Devil May Cry combo with some Ultrakill in third person thrown in. Just full style beast with guns that has a dedicated taunt button for enemies.

Played all three and yeah, we need at least two more games. One to help flush out Strife and the last one where the developers can do what they want: Either Single player but you can switch between Horsemen, or Coop with friends with the idea of replayability to see how each of the horseman work together.
@@vandergrift5557 It would be up to the developers, but yeah, there's a lot of directions they could play it out, as long as you can keep mechanics workable for all four.
Ngl if the series gets continued we need 2 games, 1 to show what strife was doing after genesis then a final game of the 4 horseman confronting the council and forming a true balance
From Genisis basically what you can pick up is that Strife used to be a bounty hunter/hired gun/mercenary, and that alot of his jobs were done without regard to if the target was innocent. He is still dealing with all that guilt which really affects him any time he sees something that reminds him of those days. His name is also pretty symbolic just like the others as even though he still has so much strife inside him that he cant deal with, he makes it his main goal to keep a light and funny atmosphere to help his allies take a load off and forget their own trauma. Would absolutely love to see him in his own game and the growth that would come from it.

“You should not have made them KNEEL!” One of my favorite lines in the third game really paints Fury’s love for her brothers despite her constantly trying to deny it. She respects them even if she feels they don’t respect her, and would not have their honor sullied but such a poor illusion.
I love Darsiders. Its one of those series that took many aspects of other games and mixed them to make fantastic games. As well as taking the generic concept of 'Angels vs Demons/The Apocalypse' and actually made a world that its weirdly unique despite its concepts. I hope they will manage to at least finish this story that we all are really interested in
@@joshima7 oh my god dude don’t get me started on Death’s voice actor. That voice to me is so fucking iconic and one of the best choices these devs ever made on any of these games. And War’s voice is pretty good as well
They should've kept the original horsemen of the apocalypse, I think it would've been awesome to play as pestilence, and I think Death would've benefitted from being the last game protagonist.
Darksiders 1: Great game Darksiders 3: Great game Darksiders 2: Actual timeless masterpiece Seriously, Darksiders 2 is one of the best games ever made in every single aspect, and it just flew under the radar like that. Didn't exactly tank, but didn't save THQ from bankruptcy either. Such a sad state of gaming. The music, the lore, the scenery, the voice acting, the art style, the combat, the exploration, the incredible puzzles... Darksiders 2 is borderline flawless.
Yeah the soundtracks and Death's voicelines oof and the executions. Tbh though DS1 did all these too, both had such a beautiful narrative kudos to the narrator. The one thing which set ds2 apart was that ds2 felt larger, like I had space to breathe compared to DS1 where all we had was dungeons and broken streets lol
@@vandergrift5557 That's exactly how I feel too. Especially in The Black Throne, DS1's puzzling got too much. There was zero time to breathe. It was repetitive puzzle after repetitive puzzle. In DS2, if you don't want to go dungeon crawling in the main quest, you can just go do a side quest in a beautiful open world. Also, the combat and music of DS2 is better. It's so fucking good.
Darksiders 2 specifically is one of my favourite games ever so I knew I had to make a video on it in some way which lead me to this video. Glad you enjoy it!
Darksiders Genesis is REALLY good! Obviously not a mainline game, but it was directed by Joe Mad and the crew over at Airship Syndicate, so it's more authentic imo than DS3. Worth checking out and playing through with a buddy; it's a blast!
I really fucking wish genesis had a higher budget, it is genuinely a really good game but all the bugs, messier art style than the main games, and the lack of combos for both War and Strife make me unable to recommend it as much as i want to.
Genesis is actually my favourite of the series, it might not have quite as much to explore as the others but its amazing. Personal ranking is: Genesis, 2, 1 and then we don't talk about 3.
@@BrightHero_Ultimato ah okay I get you now, sorry about that I misread the tone of the original comment. I love these games it’s so sad that each one seemed to have some external problem stopping them from getting more attention and such

death is hands down the best horseman imo. his final monologue standing in front of the well of souls when says he has no idea what to do next is just crazy. the fact that he is death yet fights to save life, and also the fact that he defeated and killed a fking concept is crazy. darksiders 2 will always be my favourite in the series.
Awsome recap of the trilogy. The earth segment of Ds2 was suppose to be more of a horror theme, and make u afraid of the undead flood, but it still felt short after the dead lands. Also dont sleep on Ds3's soundtrack, the violin song at the end scene is pure awe. Genesys takes place before the main story of the 3, and deals alot with lucifer and his main schemes, as well as samael's place in the lore. Strife is the more humane horseman, like u see in 3. Keep up the great work !!!
Played all the Darksiders games including Genesis and I have to say each game is a treat to play and reminds me of why I got into gaming in the first place These games are never the most original games but they aren't trying to be one and wear their inspiration on their sleeves. Also loved your summary of the story especially fury catching redditors
Man I love this series. Glad more people are covering it and giving it exposure to their audiences. Love them all. 2 is my favorite (that OST man, one of my all time favs) but 3 actually has my favorite combat loop once I got used to it especially with the added DLC weapons. They also added a classic style update for 3 where the heals and item use are automatic making it more smooth during combat. Ionos also might be my favorite boss in the series tbh. Great vid, subbed
The Crowfather, The Guardian, Corrupted Archon, The Tree of Life, Trouble in Eden, The Crystal Spire, Tri-Stone, The Makers Overworld, The Makers Fight Back, The Lost Temple Guardians, Plains of Death, Into Eternity, Corruption, The Abyssal Plains, Supernatural Desert, The Floating City, Story of The Makers, Death Brings Hope, and The Ivory Citadel, those are all among the best soundtracks in gaming. This game is the only game I know where I there's not a single bad soundtrack. Even the ones I like less than some others like Makers in The Outlands or Lord of The Black Stone, they are still top notch.
The ending of Darksiders 1 and the part where Death finishes off the Archon in Darksiders 2 are some of the most epic moments I've seen in over 30 years of gaming. I really hope the developers can make a better entry for Strife than what we've got for Fury.
Not sure how i found this video but job well done and the edits, storylines and puns. The Dark Siders youtube page release a tease video couple days ago
Darksiders 2 was the first ever game i got on my xbox 360. It's special to me because i only used to play ps1 and n64. I was literally in awe when I saw this skeleton guy riding a firey blue horse on screen with snow everywhere

I have huge nostalgic love for these games, and you covered both the good and bad about them perfectly. I think they'll always be in this weird space of looking for their own identity that'll never happen, but that doesn't mean I wont respect what they tried to do. Excellent video man!
I love so mucho this series, it felt so awesome to have such powerful characters yet you see them not feeling that much and always growing not as the Horsemen of the Apocalypse but as individuals. Plus Death's voice and portrayal is so good

The day a Darksiders 4 is announced, with trailer and everything,I will cry tears of the kin- I mean, of joy, because the world did this franchise dirty, especially with how much potential it has
15:00 - Yup, due to THQ's issues they had to rush near the end. But to be fair they were over budget and tried to go a bit too big in terms of open world (and to the point where it makes some ares feel empty). The DLC was even more rushed sadly.
I haven't played Darksiders 1 & 2 in a little over a decade and it randomly came to mind a while ago. Watching this video brings back insane nostalgia. Still one of the greatest games I've played. Nice video.
I love Darksiders. It might sound weird but for me, this series acts like a worthy substitute to the absence of the LoK series... great story and world building, similar gameplay and fantastic voice acting (even Kain's voice, Simon Templeman is in).
Darksiders 2 hits so hard with its music, it's been my favorite game of all time regardless of how "meh" it is. Or how much people see it as a DLC. Death to me is the most interesting and badass charcter.
Yes indeed, this Franchise deserves much better.... Mark my words, if i am ever to achieve my dreams i will one day buy the rights to this Franchise and ill build a proper legacy for it... One day, Darksiders and Prototype will have their names as one of the greatest ever made!
@@djjaxter Yes, so much potential lost... i try to keep my list very specific and very short, after i started to have these ideas of "what if" i caught myself thinking what other game out there would join the list but despite me having played alot of games and there being alot of missed oportunities, i cannot think of a third title to make the holy trinity os lost efforts hahaha
I’m currently replaying D2 Deathinitive, and it’s fantastic. Cool dungeons, awesome music and bosses stand out. I absolutely love this series and still hope we get a 4. Remnant has really taken off, and rightfully so, but I want them to return to the riders and give Strife the true game he deserves.
Darksiders 2 is one of my favorites soundtracks of all time. Jesper Kyd (Hitman, Assassins Creed, Batman and Robin for sega Genesis, killed it. Such a varied, wondrous and awe inspiring soundtrack. Truly ethereal.
DS Genesis is an AMAZING game, overlooked even by fans of the franchise only because of where the camera is, saying Strife needs his own real game, and I'm like "whaaat!?" that IS his real own game, I mean, yes, War is in it too but we are always told how close the horsemen are to one another, even calling themselves brothers and sister, and we finally got a game with 2 of them together interacting with each other and both playable (even in co-op), with a really fun and interesting gameplay that completely feels like a Darksiders game (even War feels so much like in his first game). We get to know about Strife and why he is the way he is, and more about the overall lore, why Strife helps humanity in DS3 is so tied down with what happens in Genesis, how much the horsemen are hurt about the Nephilim with my favorite battle in all the franchise in Eden, with the corpses of their kind still there, and so much more. DS Genesis deserves way more credit, it's a really great game created by a little indie studio with no more and no less than the mastermind of DS itself (Joe Madureira)
*LOVE* Darksiders, one of my favorite franchises ever. A friend and I are still hoping for a four player co-op came where each player controls a Horsemen.
Goddamn dude. I haven’t thought about this series in years. It used to be everything I lived and breathed for a time, thank you for this wonderful video, the end montage brought me to tears. Its been tough, slowly watching all the different series that used to fill me with such excitement and joy slowly wither and fade away to nothingness due to neglect, I’ve become so apathetic as a result and it’s so sad. Halo, Destiny, Gears, and Darksiders, as well as others. I can only hope that one day, we’re all truly blessed by the continuation and conclusion to such a beautiful franchise. I’ll always believe that these games were true iconic treasures.
I just wanna say that the Darksiders series will forever be one of my favorite and this video is just exactly how I feel about them. They truly do deserve so much better! Thank you for making this, I hope the devs see more stuff like this and maybe just maybe. We’ll get the conclusion the series deserves. Well played friend! Also this video just got you another subscriber 😎
I know I'm in the minority but Darksiders 3 is my favorite in the series. I've 100% completed all of them multiple times. I almost didn't even buy 3 cause all the reviews said it was mid to bad, but once I gave it a chance, it really resonated with me. I think the combat works... once you git gud
As a desperate fan of this franchise (as in I'd really really want to see the story finished), I'm glad to see someone talking about it! Played through all of them (including Genesis with a friend of mine, was a great time!) and I agree with the 2nd game being my favorite. As an avid Zelda fan, this series obviously spoke to me. Not only the gameplay (as much as I also remember getting my ass kicked in the 3rd game, I remember dodging being super satisfying) but the visuals, the story and the music (Crowfather from Darksiders 2 is sooo epic, I remember getting goosebumps when that music hit at the beginning when you're made to fight War). ... This video kind of made me want to go play through all of them again. Thanks for making it, I wish more people knew about Darksiders.
I played each of them as they came out, revisited 1 & 2 for their remasters and for me DS3 was my favourite. Each had a good story and characters but 3's gameplay is what makes me revisit it rather than the other 2. It's kind of humbling to know that there are games you either get or you don't, a game you find difficult might play as easily to another as something they find tricky and you breeze through.
3 doesn't have my favourite story, but I love the modular gameplay and different weapons worked much better than 1 and 2. If we can keep the same variety for a 4th game, I would be so happy.
Same here yo. I love all four of these games but 3 is my favourite. The Combat felt the most satisfying and though I didn't like Fury at the start she developed so much that she easily beat out Death as my favourite.
Darksiders 2 will always be my favorite but I also love DS3, I actually really like the story cause I love seeing Fury's character development from unlikeable bitch to one who actually cares about the Balance, & humanity enough to protect them
I think we will get a new one sometime soon. Genesis sold pretty from what I recall. THe problem is Embracer who owns THQ Nordic now owns over 100 studios and publishers so lord only knows when a new entry is slated in their line up, also the original devs of the first two are split between at least two different dev studios now.
Dude! The way you edited that ending gave me literal chills. I fucking love this series and these amazing characters that Joe Madureira designed. (I have all their statues sitting behind me right now) I would love it if we got an epic ending to this series that gives them the send off they really do deserve. 😁👍
The constant combination of genres in these games I think is one of their huge strengths and what stops them from being just another 2010's ps3 type game
Fucking love the Dark Siders series. It one of the best examples of early 2000s edge/asthetics but with great writing and character work. (minus 3 for like 90% of it.) I was worried my childhood/teenage nostalgia was going to break apart when I played these games again many years later. Thank god it didn't in the story as well as Gameplay. (again minus 3.)
This video was Beautifully made, and the love you have for the series is quite apparent with how deeply and passionately you talk about it. I personally loved Darkisers2. It was also the first one i played in the series. Thanks for reminding me about this great series. I might just play it again sometime soon
I'm really in love with the Darksiders series. I know people Yahtzee Croshaw were ripping it for being "derivative" but I honestly don't see anything wrong with taking inspiration as long you have your own soul/identity. It wears its inspirations on its sleeves but it's definitely its own thing. I use to blame the negative reception but I honestly think it had more to do with guys like Joe Mad leaving the driver's seat. Without him maintaining "the vision" sorta fell apart without a center. I do really want them to finish though. Even if the game turns out to be glitched and flawed I wouldn't mind having closure to the ending. Also it'd be cool to see Lucifer in his glory.
Darksiders 1 was the very first videogame i bought with my own money (the shiny hardcover even!!) This video brought so much nostalgia and you managed to capture every detail so well. Thank you dj!!
I feel like Darksiders 3 failed to capture what it feels like to be one of the Four Horsemen, combat wise. You are supposed to be a big deal on the battlefield, but Fury just feels like your ordinary angel/demon. I know she uses whips but I would expect them to work like the whip from Prototype games, not a limp wristed bitch slap.
The combat went too far into the whole darksouls shtick where every piece of crap mob is supposed to be a "threat". I much more so enjoy the idea of the threat being the sheer number of mobs but o well.
to flare up the combat, you really have to experiment and do some glitches to maximize stylistic approach in combat, in DS1 the basics is that you use range attack for every weapon move/string you wanted to connect (doable in mid air) but thats just for stylistic ala dmc combat style, youll stay in mid air as long as theres an enemy to kill and you continue to perform the combo
Oh yea for sure, I watched a review kinda thing (it was games that are called god of war ripoffs if you want to find it) from someone called bacon productions (I'm remembering the name wrong for sure sorry but I recommend his video) and he said you could very easily cheese the combat with a few moves which I also noticed. I genuinely like the combat but it is super easy to just find a few busted moves and reuse them
@@djjaxter yeah i think ive also watched that guy before and yeah, this mechanics in DS1 is kinda similar as to how jump cancel is for dmc still DS1 is my favorite from the 4 games (because of combat), but DS2 hand down for overall presentation and design
I remember as a kid in early 2010's it was one of my favorite game series. particularly Darksiders 2. It was a very big improvement over the first game. despite some drawbacks. One of the best games of 2012, without any doubt, especially considering what came out that year - Mass Effect 3, Dishonored, Far Cry 3, The Witcher 2, Assassin's Creed 3, Tourchlight 2, Forza Horizon, Bourderlands 2, Prototype 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles - all of these awesome games, still loved over a decade later. Darksiders 2 was awesome in many aspects - interesting storyline, awesome world, satisfying gameplay, neat powers divided into two skill trees and cool bosses. However, the series as a whole are what you can call a unrealised potential. While second game is really good, the others are "not enough" in manya aspects. I mean the first and third game, as they in my opinion fall short in comparison with Darksiders 2. On the other hand, Darksiders Genesis is a really awesome, Diablo type game that i enjoyed very much. Hopefully it's success will push the series forward, it's been quite a few years after all.
What a video - just have to compliment you on how much time you probably put into this. I hope this goes viral ASF. Really well done this is hilarious, thought through and filled with really good references... Made my day

Certainly up there with my most wanted..."franchises" that I wish would either continue or even reboot. I figure this one sits in my top 5 at like...spot 3, right behind "Legacy of Kain", (specifically would want an up to date iteration of the "Soul Reaver" games) and above "Tenchu" at 4. Tenchu had it's place, but with better story telling and "now" mechanics, no doubt it would still be a thing. Think all of them are available on steam correct?
Yea all the darksiders ones are on steam (D2 port can be a bit glitchy depending on the player) and I’ve seen the soul reaver games on steam, not too sure about Tenchu though sorry
Great video, I got to work on Darksiders 2 until THQ pissed away all it's money on a stupid tablet for kids. If DS2 had been given a fraction of the marketing budget that was given to that tablet things could have gone very differently. I loved DS1 and I so so want someone to finish the series. I really wish I had asked the writers to just tell me the ending to it all but I wanted to be as surprised as everyone else when we got to it.
Covering a series a loved with that writing and that humour, even down to the title of the outro in the chapter select is just brilliant. Youve earned this sub!
I can't see the others as horseman since they don't have their biblical names as War 'n Death has, probably was creative reasons, but should be more like the source material
I was always so confused as to why they didn't keep the original names for all them tbh. Like the changed names still work but I don't know why Famine, Pestilence, or even Conquest wasn't kept
@@djjaxter I got to play the closed beta and i could really feel the Darksiders influence from the combat to the art style, it feels like the Devs were paying homage to their previous work. it makes sense because Joe mad, the guy that created Darksiders is the head of the Studio that is working on Wayfinders. Also the Devs of Warframe are publishing it so i have high hopes for it.

@@roachxyz Wait what ? send me the link !
To this day, Darksiders is one of my favourite series out there. There's a reason I got the Horsemen symbol they made as a tattoo. I'm not kidding
I’ve got the exact same tattoo, still one of my favorites to this day 😂
I have that tattooed too lol
Hope this series eventually gets a final game with all 4 together.
A final game where you could choose your character for each mission would be so fucking awesome
Ngl if the series gets continued we need 2 games, 1 to show what strife was doing after genesis then a final game of the 4 horseman confronting the council and forming a true balance
@@aidenwren0403 you know what you’re absolutely right about that
That's all I've wanted from this series since the ending cinematic of Darksiders 1, but I've been happy to have the other games along the way.
Fairly certain we will, genesis and 3 sold fairly well
From Genisis basically what you can pick up is that Strife used to be a bounty hunter/hired gun/mercenary, and that alot of his jobs were done without regard to if the target was innocent.
I’ve just started playing genesis recently and you’re so absolutely right about his character in that game
@@djjaxter ay a heart nice, just wanted to say that that was a great video. My first time finding your channel but most certainly going to spend some more time here.
@@kempolar9768 thanks man! Unfortunately the only video I got like this one is just this one but I’m working on the next one currently, just gonna have to give me a while to actually get it it done since my script writing skills take me forever is all lol
“You should not have made them KNEEL!”
One of my favorite lines in the third game really paints Fury’s love for her brothers despite her constantly trying to deny it. She respects them even if she feels they don’t respect her, and would not have their honor sullied but such a poor illusion.
That is genuinely one of my favourite lines as well! It’s such a good line
I love Darsiders. Its one of those series that took many aspects of other games and mixed them to make fantastic games. As well as taking the generic concept of 'Angels vs Demons/The Apocalypse' and actually made a world that its weirdly unique despite its concepts. I hope they will manage to at least finish this story that we all are really interested in
All the lore and shit about these games is so fucking good
@djjaxter Yeah the lore is one of the main reasons I love the series, as well as the character design and the voice acting
@@joshima7 oh my god dude don’t get me started on Death’s voice actor. That voice to me is so fucking iconic and one of the best choices these devs ever made on any of these games. And War’s voice is pretty good as well
@djjaxter The voice cast honestly elevated the enjoyment of these games. They were so good it made me want to know who they were
They should've kept the original horsemen of the apocalypse, I think it would've been awesome to play as pestilence, and I think Death would've benefitted from being the last game protagonist.
FINALLY, someone is talking about these games.
They’re so fuvking good someone had to do it eventually
The OST for Darksiders 2 was top notch.
Do you ever heard of the legendary jesper kyd?
Darksiders 1: Great game
Darksiders 3: Great game
Darksiders 2: Actual timeless masterpiece
Seriously, Darksiders 2 is one of the best games ever made in every single aspect, and it just flew under the radar like that.
A correction needs to be made...
Darksiders 3: good Souls game, terrible darksiders game.
This story deserves a proper conclusion it’s was one of the best game I had the pleasure of playing when I was 15
I am truly happy people have as much love for this series as I do, thanks for making this video.
From all the praise I’ve heard from it I’ll have to check it out sooner rather than later
Ever since darksiders 1 when ever I face off against a winged creature of any kind I think to myself "time to pluck pigeons"
We have it boys, new Darksiders is coming
Darksiders 4 will be the first game i have purchased day one in 5 years maybe 6 depending when it releases.
Darksiders is proof that being popular doesn't automatically make a game series good.
Didn’t enjoy the games?
@djjaxter no I meant that the games despite not being popular then the souls series or minecraft still manages to be as great on their own.
@djjaxter and Darksiders is actually my personal favorite game series, lol
@@BrightHero_Ultimato ah okay I get you now, sorry about that I misread the tone of the original comment. I love these games it’s so sad that each one seemed to have some external problem stopping them from getting more attention and such

Darksiders truly is a underrated series. The fact it still lives,in a way, gives me hope that one day, we’ll see the grand finale.
Amazing video. 😊😊😊
Also that ending, that is also equally amazing. How you edited it all together got me a bit emotional, in a good way.

death is hands down the best horseman imo. his final monologue standing in front of the well of souls when says he has no idea what to do next is just crazy. the fact that he is death yet fights to save life, and also the fact that he defeated and killed a fking concept is crazy. darksiders 2 will always be my favourite in the series.
The D3 soundtrack slaps as well and I'm planning to play Genesis once payday hits so I'm hyped for it. Thank you for the kind words as well!
Played all the Darksiders games including Genesis and I have to say each game is a treat to play and reminds me of why I got into gaming in the first place
These games are never the most original games but they aren't trying to be one and wear their inspiration on their sleeves.
Also loved your summary of the story especially fury catching redditors
Watched to the end and I am pleased to announce that a new Darksiders game was revealed to be in development. I saw the trailer yesterday.
How is it called?
Man I love this series. Glad more people are covering it and giving it exposure to their audiences. Love them all. 2 is my favorite (that OST man, one of my all time favs) but 3 actually has my favorite combat loop once I got used to it especially with the added DLC weapons. They also added a classic style update for 3 where the heals and item use are automatic making it more smooth during combat. Ionos also might be my favorite boss in the series tbh. Great vid, subbed
At least the prequel game managed to redeem the franchise
How do you bring up the DS2 music and NOT include the guardian boss theme? That track STILL gets me hyped up.
DUDE OH MY GOD I CANT BELIEVE I DIDNT PUT THAT IN I FORGOT
Or the Crowfather theme
I still listen to that and tree of life all the time
The Crowfather, The Guardian, Corrupted Archon, The Tree of Life, Trouble in Eden, The Crystal Spire, Tri-Stone, The Makers Overworld, The Makers Fight Back, The Lost Temple Guardians, Plains of Death, Into Eternity, Corruption, The Abyssal Plains, Supernatural Desert, The Floating City, Story of The Makers, Death Brings Hope, and The Ivory Citadel, those are all among the best soundtracks in gaming. This game is the only game I know where I there's not a single bad soundtrack. Even the ones I like less than some others like Makers in The Outlands or Lord of The Black Stone, they are still top notch.
Yeah and even the part where Death fights with war
The ending of Darksiders 1 and the part where Death finishes off the Archon in Darksiders 2 are some of the most epic moments I've seen in over 30 years of gaming. I really hope the developers can make a better entry for Strife than what we've got for Fury.

I love so mucho this series, it felt so awesome to have such powerful characters yet you see them not feeling that much and always growing not as the Horsemen of the Apocalypse but as individuals. Plus Death's voice and portrayal is so good

I love Darksiders series , much what you say its true , but how you mix the Outro , damn .
15:00 - Yup, due to THQ's issues they had to rush near the end. But to be fair they were over budget and tried to go a bit too big in terms of open world (and to the point where it makes some ares feel empty). The DLC was even more rushed sadly.
This is making me want to replay darksiders 2 now.

Amazing video dude. And very well edited. I was looking for something like this after the announcement of a new game in the franchise.
Genesis was a real callback in both narrative and gameplay.
I'm glad that they brought executions back unlike DS3
I still hold out hope for DS4 with Strife and one to end with all of them
Same here, hoping someday it'll be made and given an actual budget rather than the small budget D3 and Genesis supposedly got
Maybe Microsoft will buy them since Embracer is looking to sell off some of their studios to save money.

There was just an official teaser released for a new Darksiders game! :D
@@tartanno1 holy shit
@@djjaxter I hope we get Strife. I know hes in Genesis but I want an actual main game with combat focused on guns
Absolutely dude! I'm just glad other people love these games as much as I do!
Darksiders deserved better
Me: indeed it does.. such a very underated very good game..
It kinda snuck up on me while I was playing Darksiders 1 and 2, but about mid way through both I realized I really really liked the main characters.
Dude! The way you edited that ending gave me literal chills. I fucking love this series and these amazing characters that Joe Madureira designed. (I have all their statues sitting behind me right now) I would love it if we got an epic ending to this series that gives them the send off they really do deserve. 😁👍
The ending is gold
The cutscene from the end of Darksiders one still gives me goosebumps. Totally underrated series for those that haven't tried it!
For someone who didn't got the chance to play God of war. I love Darksiders so much, for the combination of genres are so well mixed together.
The constant combination of genres in these games I think is one of their huge strengths and what stops them from being just another 2010's ps3 type game

I was worried my childhood/teenage nostalgia was going to break apart when I played these games again many years later. Thank god it didn't in the story as well as Gameplay. (again minus 3.)

Thanks for reminding me about this great series. I might just play it again sometime soon
who’s here after they announced the remastered version 😅
1:10 i love how even when im not watching jerma985, im still watching jerma985
No problems my man!! Glad you enjoyed the video and that I could do something nice for ya
Legit. You can get killed by some of the most basic enemies in like 3-4 hits its so annoying
@@djjaxter Yeah, and in return it takes like 8 hits to kill those basic enemies.
The combat went too far into the whole darksouls shtick where every piece of crap mob is supposed to be a "threat". I much more so enjoy the idea of the threat being the sheer number of mobs but o well.
to flare up the combat, you really have to experiment and do some glitches to maximize stylistic approach in combat, in DS1
the basics is that you use range attack for every weapon move/string you wanted to connect (doable in mid air)
but thats just for stylistic ala dmc combat style, youll stay in mid air as long as theres an enemy to kill and you continue to perform the combo
I genuinely like the combat but it is super easy to just find a few busted moves and reuse them
@@djjaxter yeah i think ive also watched that guy before
and yeah, this mechanics in DS1 is kinda similar as to how jump cancel is for dmc
still DS1 is my favorite from the 4 games (because of combat), but DS2 hand down for overall presentation and design

Holy hell what a great video, perfectly encapsulates my feelings towards the franchise.
Thank you for this video.
No problems my man!! Glad you like it :)
Made my day

Thank you so much! I’m starting work on the next big “video essay” style thing straight away but it’ll probably take me a year before I can get it out sadly, so I’m planning to do some other types of scripted videos in between my normal video style
Thanks so much dude! Really tried my best to make those chapter titles funny
@@djjaxter Maybe they feared copyright
@@DanteCrowlley that honestly could be it
The Devs are definitely not working on a spiritual successor to Darksiders called Wayfinder
Someone mentioned that! I'm so glad it's living on in some way
@@djjaxter I got to play the closed beta and i could really feel the Darksiders influence from the combat to the art style, it feels like the Devs were paying homage to their previous work. it makes sense because Joe mad, the guy that created Darksiders is the head of the Studio that is working on Wayfinders. Also the Devs of Warframe are publishing it so i have high hopes for it.
Man that outro almost made me tear up, the "Not alone.." always gets me in the feels ever since I played DS1 on release. Also go play Genesis man, it's fricken awesome and seeing the camraderie between two of the horsemen as they actively work together relaly solidifies their bond and why War has such faith in them, and why Death was willing to die to prove his brother's innocence. And to top that it also has a banger ass soundtrack.
Once payday comes I'm immediately going for a playthrough of it from all the good I've heard in other comments
And now we have gotten a new Darksiders trailer. A win is a win.
Darksiders 2 will always be one of my favourite games EVER! Death is such hell of a protagonist. From design, to animations, his persona, voice... My gosh, his voice. During my many playthroughs I've always had a situation where I just spammed horse summoning button just to hear "I have to go alone..." or "This is no place for a horse..." I have very similiar vibes when I'm watching SPAWN series or play Mortal Kombat 11 with SPAWN and hear Keith David. SO DAMN GOOD!! ❤ To me - Death just had it all. That video made me replay DS2. Weekend quest list updated 😂 Also, you have a new subscriber. This video is really well-done!
Dude I fucking love Death and Darksiders 2 so much it's such an important part of my life and Death is one of my favourite characters in anything ever he's so good. Thank you so much for the kind words!!!
@@djjaxter As an action figures collector I'm so depressed that no one touched that franchise except of some deluxe editions statues with pre-orders or something. Death has such potential with being transfered to action figure form. Would pay much money for that 😂 I really need to replay that shit tomorrow. And all of those book of the dead pages... The only pain in the ass I have in this game.
@@UncleLucy666 There's a site called BigBadToyStore in Australia that has a few things but sadly they're so fucking expensive lmao I'd love a smaller easier figure to have myself. Guess I just wait till I start getting money from RUclips and immediately blow it on the $600 statue lmao
@@djjaxter I wish you would get that opportunity on your channel! I know that store, and I know also that statues and figures are fucking expensive everywhere, my man 😂😂😂
