In DD1 you'd use placative brew or panacea to get rid of that condition.
Naw, just down them yourself and when you bring them back up mind control is gone.
Unless they are a max level Ranger or Strider. Then, they'll just oneshot you.

Yup plus spirits would possess folks on your team and you'd have to Duke it out the same way lol. I like that they bring these threats back just in different ways

I wonder if you can get your pawn to attack the dragon even if possessed by shoving your aggro onto the dragon or if the possession overrides tricksters aggro mechanic
@thomassol9725 as a trickster main, yes you can but the pawn is buggy as pawns usually are

You can just smack the arm, dragon will let go before possession is complete.
I'm sure you probably have to be able to deal enough damage to the arm like in DD1
U can also use the mages silence spell to stun the drake if they are doing the godsway spell or any spell for that matter! Its pretty nifty.

@@saery4523 Idk if it works the same way as in DD1, but I remember only being able to free my pawns from being possessed by the drake after being a high enough level to deal decent enough damage to make it drop the pawn. But if that's been tied to knockdown power this whole time, I'm gonna yeet myself into the Brine fr 😤

I do miss the drakes speaking in Latin when addressing you and attempting to possess a pawn, but the voice acting for them here is amazing as well
Dragons are former arisen so they can control pawns. Same in thr first game.

This ones a Drake tho. They were once a pawn. When Arisen lose to the Seneschal, they become a Dragon and their pawn becomes the Drake.
Maybe I don’t hear it but I hope they speak Latin or whatever when they take them over like in the first game

They no longer speak in Latin, but the voice acting and sound design for Drakes is very very good in DD2
You now hear the translation of what they say, so it's in English if that's the language you got.
As someone who survived the dark arisen, I'm used to fighting rogue pawns

It's super Effective.
As a big fan of the original, i am very happy that most if not all of the news im hearing regarding the sequel is good, makes me very hopeful that Capcom is not going to try and money grub this game and instead make an actual good game. i mean they have monster hunter and that's been an absolute juggernaut for them, lets hope they can keep the momentum. cause i fully intend to buy this game the second it comes out.

Nothing is better than playing as a Mage/Sorcerer only to have your Fighter/Warrior pawn come up and put you in a full Nelson after being controlled

and the dragon roar that down all pawns at once, with the revive time in dd2, its definitely much harder to deal with than in dd1
Use mirror shielde on the magik spearman class. You+pawns won't get affected
@g-gaming9437 that's kinda weak as a solution. Magic spear is an end game item.
@dipg7488 you can get the class early by just killing the dragon in marze when it appears and talking to a npc
Dragons in the Dogma universe are the coolest
I miss DD1's Drake voice,it sounded so powerful and mysterious but at the same time very proper and respectable,if they dont speak Latin im gonna be very saddened,because wyrms speaking in english was an endgame lore related portion of the game.
Imagine they just have all the dragons speaking gaelic this time
In the original dragon's dogma it was the most horrifying thing to happen to your mage character especially to one you just hire... Cause there's always a chance he will fire a tornado or meteor and one shot you

Dragons I fight don't live long enough to even try this. The arcane archers frost hunter ignores obstacles to hit its target, just dump a few of these on the heart and it will take alot of damage.
So that’s what the pawns mean by saying, “there is a desease that cause Pawns not to obey their master”. 😱

Grigori was so cool
I liked the (think I’m not mixing it up) Wyvern in the moon tower that spawned during the apocalypse.
He had some cool voice lines and helped shine some light on the dragon transformation lore.
I’ve always thought it was strange that drakes know how the pawns work to be able to do that considering they aren’t part of the cycle like Grigori is
It's been theorized that Drakes and the other variants are still fallen Arisen, they just fell before before they ever got to the seneschal
Drakes are formerly pawns of the fallen arisen

The worst part is that you can spawn pawns like that, and if they keep such conditions too long, whichever in you rest in, they will kill everyone in that village
You're thinking of Dragonsplague, which is a disease that slowly takes over your pawn. This is simply a drake possessing a pawn.

And this is how pawns can contract the dragons plague. I had a clean team for the long time and I fought a dragon, and one of them were grabbed by the dragon and got possessed an ingame week later the exact pawn got the symptoms.
I wonder if the Dragonsplague system that has been hinted at has something to do with this as well.
It can infect them yes, if it's not your pawn, better send them to the rift, and if it's your pawn, feed it to the brine and resummon him to be sure

That move use to be a nightmare in DD1 bro my pawn was a demon even I had trouble taking him out because i would make him so Tanky in magic and physical 😂 I had to use demon periaps to put him down or use a potion
Me as thief , dragon goes to snatch looks at his hand, nothing there then feels a sharp pain in the back of its head from a behind the back skull splitter and a lost of 2 dragon scales
That’s not even the worst that can happen to grabbed pawns!

Oh i thought this is when a pawn contracts the dragonsplague. I didn't know it controls our pawns too until i saw this video.
Gotta attack that hand quick as can to have chance to free pawn before possession
I believe this is also how the Dragonsplague begins if I'm not mistaken.
Had this happen to a very powerful sorc pawn with me once and I didn’t realize, let’s just say I found out when me and my pawn were being repeatedly tossed around in the air by a tornando.
Bro it can happen in dark arisen too in fact it’s literally from every instalment of dogma they have always been able to do this the dragons even over leveled pawns are not and have never been safe from this possessed status

Normally I’d just immediately kill my pawn and then help them back up. But healing is more limited in this game, so I might actually need to worry about carrying potions to get rid of the effect.

In DD:DA I used to crush my pawn when he went rogue. Holy focused bolt knocked some sense into him every time.
I have never had this problem mainly because I keep my pawns close enough to me where he isn’t able to grab anyone. I also play Mystic Archer and favor the charged icicle attack so the drake is always getting stunned or knocked over.

After every drake fight I yeet every pawn with me into water. Ever since a pawn I had destroyed all of Vernsworth I’ll never take the chance again.
That’s why I have all my pawns play at range while I fight up close

Still convinced this is why Magick Archer is the best vocation all round, because you can just delete your pawn with Sagitaire Avalanche and then immediately revive them from across the battlefield using your fully charged healing shot, it's almost silly❤

I cannot wait for this game. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to wait longer than the 22nd, but I am so excited for when I will finally get a chance to play it.
This happened to me in DD1 and it was terrifying, since you can hear dragons talk. I had to kill the pawn to turn it back to my side.
It will also carry over past the fight. You pawn is now terminally ill and you have to kill and revive it at a riftstone to cure or he will go crazy randomly and kill all the town folk.
So if you just kill them and then pick them back up they’ll be back to normal. But this is also how they get Dragon Plague. So make sure you keep track of which one got picked up-possessed so you can throw them into some water before you rest anywhere
No they don’t get Dragonsplague this way.
It used to be all you had to do was attack the wrist of the drake, and it would let go. Now that doesn't work.
You know what is more scary than it? The Petrify Debuff
drake in DD1 also got that skill..i once witness he grab my pawn and made him turned on me

Thought they took this out since every time my pawns got grabbed, the drake would just slam them. Unless it's exclusive to the main.
This is actually where Dragon Plague comes from.

BTW if that attack happens to your pawn it will give them dragons plague witch if you leave it long enough without getting rid of them and you sleep at an inn it will kill everyone in that village even important npc's. just if you didn't know

one of my friends got his party wiped out by my thief pawn thanks to that mechanic, funniest discord call ever.
If they get the plaque, just throw them in the water (brine) then go to a riftstone and bring them back and it’ll be cleared of it, simple fix
This can happen in DD1 (your companions be possessed/comfused/target you).

My first time defeating a drake I thought that this was the” pawn sickness beyond the rift” taking place.
Yeah, no. And ignore every ignorant person in the comment section saying it does. It only starts to infect a pawn come The Endgame and if you hire a pawn who has completed their Endgame.
The trick is to name them caboose and make them a wizard. Suddenly friendly fire is wanted
Good thing my pawns are severely underleveled compared to me because I grew attached but despite favoriting and re-hiring, their masters haven't upgraded them for a while. Basically I demolish them in a couple of hits

Should be more worried about them catching the Dragon Herps. I’ve seen two sets of glowing eyes and the Brine took care of both of them.

I hope they have everything they can do in the first. I also hope they still talk and hopefully become more expressive with various lines.
