- Dragon's Dogma 2 offers players an incredible level of freedom to do whatever and go wherever they want. With that freedom though, comes the possibility of missing some very valuable things that will certainly help you get a leg up once the going gets tough. To that end, here are our recommendations of all of the Things to Do First in Dragon's Dogma 2.

4:04 btw, it is a permanent, stackable, carry weight increase. Do not ignore those beetles, especially if you're planning to play solo.

This game should have gotten Assassin’s Creed parkour and deeper climbing mechanics for climbing walls and cliffs

Number 17, if playing on PC, get a mod that allows ferrystones to drop from enemies. They don't sell for much but it fixes how limited / expensive the stones are in the early game.

You can store all your upgrade materials and it will pull from your storage when you go to upgrade your items.

Bad advice about immediately recruiting 2 additional pawns at the beginning. Wait, because the game will send you pawns if you have open slots, and there's 1 that is very helpful with questing direction.
Lured the cyclops to trisha’s house. Very cool too if you lured it at night.

Bounce. Stats completely changed between vocations now. So there’s no advantage to staying in one class the whole game. It’s designed to not punish you for switching classes and trying new things.

If it's like the 1st game, advance a vocation enough for the best augments you want then switch
Walk to Vernworth at night - badass and some epic battles
Made the last half of the trip at night. Fighting ghosts just outside of the Copper's Quarter was so cool
The harpies are fun when the goblins appear out of nowhere

For people talking about FPS: remember thar RDR2 is very playable at 30 fps, you quickly stop noticing it!
settling for 30fps in a time where it’s no problem to have at least 60 is insane, for $70 it’s even psychotic that it’s something people are wanting to just accept like they didn’t straight rob you
30fps is fine. Unstable fps that drops to below 20? Not fine. It's 2024 not being able to maintain 30fps is pathetic even for ps4 standards

1. Realize the game is riddled with predatory microtransactions and your game cant get more than 34FPS because the Denuvo DRM is using half of your resources, then promptly refund the game.

It was the npc ai systems causing the issues.
Offing said npcs increases frame rate back to 60+
No idea why they decided to make the AI mandatory at all times.

The game is cpu bound not gpu bound...
Then you need a new CPU. My 3080 mostly keeps it over 60 at 1080 with ray tracing. Using FSR 3 tho as DLSS somehow makes it really blurry, TAA gives nasty ghosting and native is jaggy as hell ... So yeh, I'm not denying the game needs a patch lol
