Volvo looked through everything, and did not even know that sensor existed, even after I kept explaining to them what and where it is…it was not until I located and took mine off that they got the proper part number and found it. You have just saved me so much, you have no idea.
This exactly why I make these videos, get a lot of trolls with nothing to do but talk mess, this is the true reason I post these videos to get folks out the jams I found myself in.

Thanks fam you gave knowledge for real .I changed out the x-y shifter but could've just changed the sensors out at $35 a piece but I changed the shifter which came with both sensors on them and problem solved ...

I have the same problem as you have with your truck change that actuator since the beginning but it didn't work change some gaskets didn't work now I going to try the harness and see if that works thank for the video
It might also be the wiring harness. Those 780s are known for that. I was told that the harness probably should be switched out every year. Soon as I made my commented the next cut was you showing the harness 😂😂😂
I have a ultrashift 2pedal transmission in my Columbia freightliner 05 I did the battery disconnect turn the key several times too get it going for months then I had too get towed the freightliner dealer thought it was a xy shifter and/ or harness turned out too be a range selector valve that was leaking air causing it not too engage the clutch the following week I had too get towed again I was getting xy shifter and/or harness codes but I thought it was not likely too have input, output, and main sensors go bad at the same damn time. I was able too disconnect the battery for 10 minutes reconnect the battery then rev the engine because it's a centrifugal clutch and quickly drop it into 2nd gear too get it going so I was thinking it was the clutch because every dead stop it was faulting out I told the mechanic I thought it was the clutch the next day he confirmed it was the clutch with pictures of the ultrashift clutch springs being broken so it was a bad clutch the whole time throwing all those bad codes....

F of the dashboard. Code 27. He has a brand new Reman transmission (9000$ total), installed it in a shop a month ago. He also has Eaton autoshift. He tried replacing speed sensor, nothing still. Checked battery connectors, the same. What can be the issue?
So my truck sat for 6 months as I recovered from a bike accident. Came back to start the truck had no power I boosted it up tried to start but wouldn’t start the gearbox has a dash in it. Now I started it from the bolts of the starter and it started but the gearbox still says a dash. After few times it went into gear and drove a few 100 meters and then stopped shut off and had the same problem. Does this sound similar to your issues
Start basic check Rekays, clean wires that run from trans to battery and main wires, then check wires for shorts etc and replace them and sensors if need

Good video! These eaton Autoshifts are junk. I was going to buy a rig from a stealership, took it for a test drive and took it right back to the place and said NTY to the salesperson. They shift rough, nearly redline the engine and when something goes wrong on the transmission or the engine computer. a person is stranded. Ishifts are better, but they aren't perfect like volvo wants a person to believe.

Issue i have is when you are stoping little bit stronger, sometimes just stop normally, transmission dont know what to do, and he wil not put in gear, D is blinking and making beeping noice.. then you have to reset transmission by turning truck down and start again. Sometimes even that does not help, i have to disconect batteries on the middle of road and wait few min.. he shift great while driving, but when you are stoping he get confused. No any codes..
my truck is been having the same issue it throws up almost the same exact codes mine is an 06 Volvo with the same transmission it starts out fine in the morning but maybe 2 or 3 hours into a trip it starts acting up and my transmission stay stuck in gear so if I'm having to stop at a stop sign it'll most of time stay stuck in the year that it was in like 10th gear most of the time and it won't rev down I looked up that part that you said that you were having trouble with but someone told me it's called the XY shifter now but that is not the XY shifter that's a lot smaller if anybody can help I really appreciate it
Did you fix your problem? I have the same problem, I change xy shifter all harnesses all sensors and I get the same problem. Is it possible that the TCM to give me all this ?
Is that the harness that connects to the actuator? I changed my actuator but now I'm getting a proprietary data link fault as well as the actuator fault came back
@@manifest2901able definetly replace all harnesses and speed sensors they are cheap and easy to do as well, then take to dealer to get it programmed to make sure u have the latest update
Adrián , Mejia I cant stress this enough buy all new speed sensors and wires their is another harness, main transmission harness! buy them all learn from my mistakes I kept buying 1 thing its not hard to put wires on I helped my mechanic replace them wires and the main wire couple months after this video, in freezing cold on side of the truck stop.
If I'm being honest replace everything and be done with it, truthfully u could get away with things I did but hard to say. Best advice I could give u! Is join Facebook volvo truck masters group thank me later
I changed the speed sensor on the back of transmission in addition to everything else mentioned (clutch, range valve, 3 harnesses, xy shifter, leaking quick connects) and still getting the red light and shift issues
@@manifest2901able range splitter valve,300$ part ,he wanted to replace touch pad but i insisted he checks resistance on this one and it was bad but interesting thing is day after it worked normally but i didnt want it to happen again,he told me he cant see any codes which is weird and i showed them one that my eld read.
Meaning which ever save you the most money and allow more profiy yo the business is bettet in my opinion, manual may check that off but depends on driver and how they take care of equipment
Truck stayed clean, and sold for top dollar because how clean it was inside and out, but any real owner operator will tell you, when you have a major breakdown, you pull out all the tools and parts in my case to get it right. I kept spare parts under the bunk have to move them to get to all major tools.

Find a good mechanic, have them check wiring and find out when clutch was last replaced .

You want to change all harnesses, that run to trans, and see when last time your clutch was replaced.
I just replaced the clutch, xy shifter and actuator. I'm still getting stuck in high range with the red service light flashing
