How many wiring harness is is the clutch and transmission connected to in a Cummins eaten automatic?
And what could stop the ECU from connecting to the computer?
Any idea on what it means when you have dashes across your gear indicator guage ?
Nothing complicated about this setup. I just wish an XY shifter kit with in-cab electronic shift controller existed to retrofit older Fuller transmissions. It's still a manual transmission, I still control the clutch, but instead of a stick, I could use an electronic controller inside cab to initiate upshifts/downshifts. It would not be an automated shift but just replacing physical stick with electronic controller which could be mounted to dash, steering wheel column, or even side of drivers seat. It seems awfully stupid to upgrade from a Fuller Advantage 10-speed manual to the Ultrashift Plus 10-speed autoshift when they both are the same damn physical transmission.
I have a cascadina with a Cummins and xy automatic Eaton 10 won’t shift up past first rpm bounces from 1000-1500ish and I’ve changed everything and I’m out of ideas can anyone help or suggest please
What about the 3 ft stick shifter on the floor 1 foot away from the automatic shifter on the column

Questione, im getti g code fmi 7 with spn 22 . My mechanic says i need a new clutch and actuator, but i wanted to know you guys take on it? Cause mine also skip gears and then when it hits 7th it goes into neutral, or says transmission failure.
Do you have to calibrate the XY shifter with a computer?
03/2022 XY $850 Harness $230, out with the old, and drop the new within an hour. Just clean the area as much as you can before you pull it out to avoid any dirt falling in the tranny. BTW, you don't have to replace the harness unless it has visible damage, or its real old .

That price is somewhat not right.. they are selling them now for 2k - just the shifter , I am talking about Eaton fuller , and a 1k reman , harness close to 2k but it’s nowhere to be found ..

My XY shifter crapped out as Im told. Truck is in the shop waiting for parts. 2019 Western Star with 18spd Eaton Automatic. Only 80,000 km or 50,000 miles. Warranty expired 21 days ago and no help or support from Eaton. Im pissed!!!
I have 2018 Volvo with Eaton 10 speed push button I had a problem with sensors it was staking in high gear so I just replaced shifter and now everything is working fine but the service light is still flashing along with F in the dash I took it to dealer they spend 6 hours and couldn’t determine what it is so I took the Truck back and still driving like that
How hard is it to install a tower with manual shifter that way i get rid of the electronic stuff
the holes should already be in the floor, need a shift tower & boot

I got a question
I have a 2009 freightliner cascadia with sleeper, and my transmission won't shift from 1st to 2nd gear in a timely manner.
It will shift but it will take longer than before.
It has the paddle shifter on the steering colum. With the auto or manual shifting on the paddle.
Once the truck is running hot it quits,but in the morning does it.
What can that be causing that?
How can I fix it?
Any suggestions?
It has the automatic shifter!!!!
I have same problem in mone and I was explained to a mechanic it has to be the xy shifter because its basically your sensors controlling your transmission
I have the same problem. Changed the XYshifter and transmission harness just still still have the problem.🤦🏽♀️

Can you put the x y shifter on any manual transmission? I’m looking into buying a dump truck for a very good deal and have hopes if possibly converting it to automatic/autoshift
it's not that simple. Your truck ECM and the tranny ECM need to be programed to communicate in order to work. It depends on the model year of the engine, if it's an older mechanical engine, you can't.

Why convert it to manual when you already spent money on repairing it and once repaired auto will last twice as long
I have a 2005 Freightliner Century Class S/T, Detroit 60 series smartshift with the clutch pedal with no fault codes . When I first start it ,then put it in gear it shift fine I can drive for hours. When I need to take a break turn it off . then try to get it to go into gear it won't. I would have to sit for a while and then it will go into gear and drive for hours. Do the XY Shifter suppose to display fault codes?

I have exactly the same problem with 2010 freightliner columbia, did you replace your x y shifter to fix this issue?
Mine hesitate from 2nd to 3rd.. have to stop and go like 10 times before it go into 3rd..once in 3rd it shift like new

Hello where did you get the xy shifter for a 1,000
I went to frightliner/wolverines parts store they said it will be $1570 for the xyshifter and wiring harness comes with it for both. When I called again to order it from the same store because they don't have it in there they said the wiring harness don't come with xy so it will be another $300 so all together around $1700 I don't know if it true or the playing games with customers..so please if you find Cheaper please let me know I will be appreciated your .

Just replaced mine on my truck it wouldn’t shift into highrange so it would basically got 2,3,4,5 then it would rev out and the trans box would through a fault code

@@23uriel its still in the shop actually… i just went to the shop yesterday and paid $840 amd some change just for the xy shifter he said probably another 300 for labor and ingot a few odds and end things hes fixing but hes pretty confident and knows what he’s doing so im gonna say yes that did fix the problem but if it don’t i’ll let you know

It did fix the problem now it likes to bot shift in low range unless its in manual but that’s another problem i don’t even wanna talk about 😂 but yes xy shifter did fix it

Gen 3 Ultra Shift reman is $525. Disassembly and assembly takes 1 hr at the most. So, no, it is not $1000. $600 total. If you put a harness- $350-400 more
1k reman now , 2k original- Eaton Fuller

These transmission are called Automated Transmission, not Automatic Transmission. An Allison Transmission is an Automatic Transmission.
