That's the way I like pulling clutches out and installing them by just letting them hang on the input shaft. Btw, it's a standard bolts holding the pressure plate on. 7/16" bolts with 5/8" hex heads.
Place truck ramps forward and back up upon them .This way no struggling hitting the ramps with creeper . Use OTC air jacks at rear of frame rail raising them high enough to level transmission. You will easily roll under front axle and fuel tanks . Use a friction jack against crossmember to push transmission in place .Tighten steering axle brakes , no rolling on ramps .
i replace a automatic cluch on international prostar 2018 do i have to program something when i put the transmission back is my first time doing automatic cluch
What was the reason for replacing the clutch iam having a problem with my automatic transmission 10 speed when catching a hill or on flat surface in 9 or 10 gears it sputtering like its loseing power than i get a code clutch solenoid valve
@Valeriu Moscalu evening when iam taken a Steep hill its acting like it don't wanna take the hill it drops down into lower gears even then it had a hard time climbing the hill
I have a question about automatic truck transmissions. I had a habit of putting my transmission into neutral on down grades so I could squeeze a few extra mph out of my governed truck. When the truck slowed enough, I would put it back in drive with seemingly no ill effect but I wondered if it was bad for it?
If it's an automated manual (most "automatic" truck transmissions are) then it's no different then shifting from gear X to gear X+1 / gear X-1. On the other hand, where the heck did you get your license from? Didn't they teach you in CDL school to never take your truck out of gear going downhill? It's a wonder you haven't had a brake fire yet. Although if your using your engine brake (jake brake) to control your speed the truck is smarter than you are and is keeping the transmission in gear even though the selector is indicating neutral.
@@can_hauler I appreciate your answer, but I am not dumb enough to do it on a grade that could cause problems. It shifts back into 13th with no big dif in RPM at top speed. I was not hearing anything alarming in the way the truck was operating. Also, With that much weight if you're at a reasonable speed, going into neutral is not that big a deal.
I dont think the other 2 guys understood what you said. One even calls himself a rookie, Yes when you have rolling hills its the best thing to do, rather than staying in gear and having 2200 rpms which will in fact ruin your transmission. Speeds of 140 km/hr are normal for a few seconds. When the speed drops to 105, get in gear and you will have 1450 rpm. However do not be tempted to do this on winding grades of 6% plus. Slow down before the hill with a plan of not going above 1900 rpm. Most automatics have an rpm lock of 1700 and will upshift, but in top gear has no choice but to go to any rpms depending on speed.
@@valeriumoscalu7580 00:29. There's a cover that goes over that. I think its called the hand hole cover? Just bought my truck and that cover is missing.
Yes it can be cleaned! Press the clutch and hold it and someone should go under the truck and spray it with brake cleaner and use pressurized air to blow it and it will help!
No it can’t be reused needs to be replaced. It’s like your truck brakes if the wheel seal leaks and gets oil all over the shoes by DOT rules you have to replace the brakes.
Noroc Vali. Ai inlocuit transmisie automata dt12 pe motor dd15? Am inlocuit transmisia cu una rebuilt , a mers 1700 de mile si a inceput sa bage din auto sau performance in manual si in manual nu schimba in sus decit de la 1900 rpm in sus. has anybody ever done installation ode a clutch on a 2007 m2 freightliner with a Mercedes engine and fso64069a transmission, i cant find any info on how to do it !, where do you start after removing drive shaft, what the next thing to do after disconnecting switches and hoses?
That is some really nice work Ha Ha it looks like it’s a little bit more of a job than doing a transmission in a pick up What brand is the transmission jack
why not pull transmission back and out of the way...then unbolt clutch assembly? its no good any way..and there is no core.... just let it fall out. Then you wont have to turn the flywheel to remove those bolts...and the weight of the pack makes the transmission front end heavy and the mid plate just makes it all dangerous in a confined space
I think it came out very well for the first time, I am also not a mechanic, I am a police officer 👮♂️ , mechanicall things are my hobby, also is not a problem at all to spin that flywheel if you have a tool , but I didn't so I was using the screw driver and it took longer! And there are always a lot of ways to do one thing!!! If you wouldn't try them you wouldn't know which one works better!

The purpose of a clutch brake is to stop or slow the input shaft from rotating, allowing the gears to mesh without grinding/clashing.
