Take actuator out, press on it and put finger where the air travels, if it expands, the change it. Also change the split pin bushing
Yo tuve unos problemas con mi transmisión DT12 de clutch y aparte de eso se salía de ciertos cambios porque no entraban bien en el engrane. Yo solo figuré todos esos problemas todo por el resultado de una sola cosa que perjudicaba con el agarre del clutch cuando solamente seleccionaba de D (drive) a R (reversa). El clutch está nuevo y aún así algunos mecánicos me decía que era el clutch pero no fue así. Aquí explico lo siguiente de lo que pasó de un trabajo anterior que le hicieron a mi camión con el dueño anterior que nunca me mencionó. La causa de todos mis problemas de transmisión fue por el sensor de presión de aceite del motor que fue “aftermarket”. Debido a ese sensor, la presión leía menos libras de presión de lo que debería de un sensor OEM (original) y en vez de solucionar el problema con remplazar el sensor con uno original, le aumentaron el Idle RPM de 600 a como 720 así para crear más presión de aceite y así para que el camión no joda con que tiene baja presión de aceite. Ese incremento de RPM’s perjudicó con el calibre de la computadora del DT12 y por esa razón mi clutch no agarraba bien cuando selecciono D o R. Compré yo mismo el sensor original y se lo remplacé y ahora me lee más libras de presión con el original y luego fui a que me le redujeran los RPM’s de regreso a 600 como debe ser. Mi punto es que si el motor tiene un idle más arriba de 600 RPM’s por cualquier razón con transmisión DT12, eso te va dar muchos problemas con el agarre de clutch y también para que entren bien los cambios.

Hace unos dias conecte transmitían control module y cuando estaban haciendo la programacion le sale esto Al mecanico GEAR RAIL SPLIT SENSOR GEAR POSITION ERRATIC que crees que me aconsejas pq según dicen ese sensor esta dentro del shift controler o algo asi

I just got done replacing the clutch in one of these at my shop and per instructions am replacing the actuator on the transmission as well. But when I compress thee actuator and bolt it up in the compressed position it keeps slowly creeping outward until fully uncompressed. I got a brand new o ring on it so it's not that. And if I compress the actuator and hold my finger over the hole it will stay compressed all day long. My question is what inside the transmission could be causing it to lose vaccum? Any help would be awesome thanks. Love the video.

i have an emergency question if you can help please … I have 2016 Cascadia with dt12 automatic transmission and my shift controller on the transmission is damaged … does that make my truck not to start at all ????????????????????? the guy who checked my truck with the computer said so but I kind of have a doubt as it doesn't make sense unless if you confirm i also changed the cpc4 and reprogram it to my vin and still doesn't start the truck and that's the only error it's showing just to mention ... the cpc was changed as it was stolen from my truck and i bought 2 used ones ... one is not programmed and it does crank my truck but won't throttle or put gear on .. and the second one is the programmed to my vin and doesn't crank the truck at all

Great video! Definitely informative. I did have question in regards to the dt12 not sending any active codes. But instead just setting off both abs and hsa lights. Also showing - - in the gear selection screen. Any input would be greatly appreciated

I’ve had same problem. 2016 Cascadia. Trans acts like it’s not getting enough air and then starts not wanting to shift properly. Then HSA light comes on and trans goes to neutral and I have no throttle. ABS light on also even though everything has been replaced related to ABS. Very strange. Any ideas anyone?

Good evening Francisco, got an issue with a 2016 DT-12 tranny, automatic. The 7th gear on the tranny grinds when driving. I replaced the clutch, actuator, module, and cpc plus the ecm on this truck and still can't take the grinding away. Any thoughts on what it can be. O I forgot that when I try to learn the gears with my computer, it doesn't allow it to finish the learning process.
The transmission control module , Some guy called it T Bar. Base it’s shape.
Francisco, what's the life expectancy of an AT12? I had my clutch, actuator and clutch brake replaced January 2023. Around May or June it started displaying characteristics of the Split Shift Rod issue, dropping to Neutral and hesitating when upshifting from 9 and would typically drop into 11 at around 1100RPM when clearly it should be in 10th. Then around September it started also exhibiting the DDC-SVC-MAN-0140-15.1 Engine RPM Flare during upshifts. I contacted the dealer inquiring as to why they didn't check the Split Shift Rod when they had it in January, convinced they'd overlooked it. But they showed me a Daimler record of my truck receiving the titanium collar in 2017. They added that they'd never seen one fail. I took it in to have a road test and computer disgnosis and they said they took the screen out and they found metal filings. At 879,000 miles, they're advising that the transmission needs replacing. Although I'm suspicious of the metal filings being the clutch brake or the split shift rod, I'm more inclined to just replace it than throw good money after bad. Any thoughts?

Con el software de diagnóstico puedes hacer varias pruebas para determinar cuál puede ser la posible falla, en ocasiones he tenido problemas de leak de aire, pin bushing con un número de abort counter muy alto que cambiarlo updated, o problemas con el Input shafts brake. Saludos

yes, it can be a leak or broken actuator

My transmission shifts higher gear than what it supposed to be for the truck speed! For example it shifts from 6th gear to 9th gear on 15mph or from 8th to 11th gear on 30 mph. It makes the engine die and rpm very low that i have to down shift it manually! Do you what is wrong with it?

Francisco, several of us are having problem with engine revs up between shifts from even to odd number shifts. No codes shows up. Any idea what that might could be?

Sometimes when i switch from N to 1st or R all the air comes out from the shift controller's air exhaust. I change the clutch, clutch actuator, and split pin. Do you think shift controller is Bad?
who told you to replace the clutch if you had an air leak?
@@MrAron13055 The truck had over 700,000 miles at the time. Might as well replace it while the transmission was out. Also, the fingers had uneven wear

you clearly have a problem. pull the fault codes to see what is the problem with your truck.

I have a 2018 CASCADIA that has the same transmission, sometimes it’s acting weird, when I’m in traffic it shifts to N when I slow down to almost zero and try to resume going without coming to a complete stop , I don’t know what’s happening but I have to come to a complete stop sometimes to be able to resume, please help me figure out the issue and is it signaling for a more serious problem ? So how long does it take you to do the transmission job
I’m a freightliner tech it usually takes a full shift, which is removing - repair - reinstall - verify repair, our shift is 8 hours
That’s quite fast and efficient and what will it cost

This transmission is not bad because it’s manual automated , it goes bad after tons of miles on it and what goes bad is bearings only , the only thing is computer and actuator assembly only
My DT-12 when cold doesn't want to go from 6 to 7th gear. Only after I warm engine for 1 hour.
sounds like the Split Pin is stuck

No not yet. Still having the issue. And also give into gears too high for the slow speed, causing it to bog down and I have to downshift manually. Big headache
